My Groom Ran Away Chapter 18.1

In the living room, Ruan Zhiyin moistened a cotton swab with iodine and lifted Cheng Yuelin’s left hand. She could not help but glance at it a few more times before she held her breath and focused on the wound on his forearm.

The man’s fingers were long and slender, with well-defined joints, and round and clean nails. There were also faint blue-gray veins visible under the white skin.

Ruan Zhiyin held his hand lightly and carefully spread the iodine over his wound. The comfortable warmth from his hand transferred to her perpetually icy hands. Her hands were always cold, doesn’t matter whether it was summer or winter. But for him, it seemed that he just happened to be the opposite.

In the quiet living room, only the inaudible breathing of the two could be heard. After the other person moved their arm back for the seventh time, Ruan Zhiyin finally frown in exasperation.

“Cheng Yuelin, if you keep moving, we should just go to the hospital.”

She was already helping him put medication on his wounds, but this person was not cooperating. After a few too many times, Ruan Zhiyin’s temper grew short.

“Not going.” Cheng Yuelin lightly grunted out in rejection. Then he paused and frowned. “Use a bit more strength, don’t just tickle it.”

In Ruan Zhiyin’s ears, it felt as though these words were condescending.

“That is because I was being careful. I was afraid you would feel the pain.”

As she spoke, she put more strength into her hands.

After all, she was not the one in pain.

After struggling for half an hour, Ruan Zhiyin finally finished applying iodine and some ointment and also helped him wrap it up in a bandage.

After completing everything, the man slowly unrolled his sleeves and lazily lounged back on the sofa. Then he reached over and picked up his phone which was sitting on the coffee table.

Ruan Zhiyin glanced at him and then thought for a moment. She felt that he still owed him a thanks. So she pursed her lips a little and said, “Thank you for coming today.”

“You are quite polite.” said Cheng Yuelin as he lifted a brow.

After a moment, he suddenly said. “Ruan Yingying. When you were kidnapped by Feng Qian, were you scared?

Ruan Zhiyin paused and smiled silently before she shook her head.

No matter whether or not she was scared, the shock was still there.

Cheng Yuelin stared at her for a few seconds. She knew that she was used to avoiding things, and she was also unwilling to show others her weaknesses. She lowered his eyes and did not continue to speak.

Feeling the silence emanating from him, Ruan Zhiyin frowned slightly. Wasn’t he in a good mood earlier?

Why is his personality so fickle?

As he continued to think about the past, she sighed and looked up to meet the man's gaze.

"So... Previously..." Ruan Zhiyin looked at his expression. She paused for a moment before finally saying. "Why were you mad?"

She was talking about the silent atmosphere between the two of them from the past few days.

Even though today’s event had broke the ice between her and Cheng Yuelin, Ruan Zhiyin still did not understand why he was angry.

Since he said that they would get along and should resolve their disputes, shouldn't she try to understand his thinking?

Cheng Yuelin’s eyes were dark, and he looked at her lazily. He chuckled softly and said, “It was because of some unimportant things.”

It really was not important, and there was no need to fight.

If they really fought, then the angry one would only be him.

Ruan Zhiyin could not help but frown at his unwillingness to elaborate.

Cheng Yuelin lazily raised his eyebrows and interrupted her thoughts. “I’m hungry, if you want to thank me. Can you make some noodles for me?"

Ruan Zhiyin choked a little at his, of course this is how you should repay me manner. She glanced at him, but she still stood up and walked into the kitchen.

After being reminded by him, she also felt hungry.

...

Seeing her walk away, Cheng Yuelin then took his phone out and unlocked the screen. Then he opened up the reply from Qian Fan.

Qian Fan: Brother Lin, isn't this progress too godly! In such a short time, sister-in-law is actually willing to live and die with you?

Cheng Yuelin raised his eyebrows and carefully thought about what she had said before when she said that she would save him too if he was in that situation.

As for the words that Ruan Zhiyin had also said to Qin Jue, "If it is within my ability, I would do the same for other people." He had already forgotten about it.

The WeChat account had been registered by Cheng Yuelin just earlier that day and only Qian Fan had been added as a friend.

He straightened out his phone to adjust the angle and secretly took a picture of Ruan Zhiyin working in the kitchen and sent it to Qian Fan. Then he responded. "She's worried that I'll be hungry."

Then he paused and thought about something. Then he rolled up his sleeve a bit and took a picture of the bandages on his arm.

Then he continued: It’s just a scratch, but she treated it for half an hour.
