Name:My Groom Ran Away Author:
That’s wrong. A scumbag of a man who embarrassed his fiancee by ending up on the trending searches with a close female friend is not worthy of such a respectful title! He is only worth sending to a crematorium and then directly scattering his ashes into the wind!

It was lucky that Miss Ruan had not yet married him.

She was such a beautiful person. If she does marry someone, she needs to marry a man who is a protector of society, more handsome than the movie emperor, and needs to have a larger bank account than her!

Just as she finished silently thinking these thoughts, there was a click.

The waiting room’s door was opened by someone.

Kang Yu and the makeup artist looked up in unison —

An unfamiliar but handsome young man stood at the door. With the magnificent crystal chandelier behind him in the corridor, his tall and straight body blocked out over half of the light.

His apathetic gaze looked around for a moment and then he stepped forward with his long slender legs and walked into the room with a lazy gait.

Ruan ZhiYin who had finished putting on her makeup turned her head around at this moment. Her gaze stopped on Cheng YueLin’s impeccably handsome silhouette.

A light scattering of short hair fell across his sturdy brow bones. His nose was straight and his lips were thin. His pair of clear peach blossom eyes seemed to be as dark as charcoal. And the slightly raised corner of his eyes seemed to have been painted with a very faint red blush.

Two buttons of his shirt were undone and his collarbones peeked out as you followed the lines of his smooth neck. He was clearly dressed in a suit and leather shoes, but his entire body exuded a roguish air.

His appearance overlapped with the figure in her memory and this caused Ruan ZhiYin to be in a daze for a moment.

Cheng YueLin had a hand in his pocket and he walked to Ruan ZhiYin. He slightly bent over and looked into her eyes for a few seconds.

He then suddenly reached out a long and slender hand with defined knuckles and rapped her forehead.

His lips curved up into a shallow arc and his tone was full of teasing. “What’s wrong, Ruan ZhiYin? Were you so moved by my willingness to fall to your level?”

TL Note: In this moment, he’s basically saying, that he’s lowering himself to marry Ruan ZhiYin. And is asking if she’s so moved that she became stupid.

Ruan ZhiYin narrowed her eyes and thinking that she was asking him for help. She forcefully ignored his ostentatiousness.

Then she moved her gaze downwards. She was silent for a moment before she raised her head again. She had the same expression as before —

“Cheng YueLin, you’re stepping on my shoe.”

Cheng YueLin lightly raised his brow and slowly lowered his head. He was astonished to see the toe of a female pair of flats underneath his foot.

From the combined weight of the man’s weight and gravity. The delicate inlaid white beads had cracked open.

Cheng YueLin: “…”

Ruan ZhiYin: “Did you see? They’ve split open.”

Cheng YueLin: “…”

“Don’t worry. Five thousand yuan. I accept bank transfers.”

Just like that, she had rightfully and willfully extorted a sum of money from him. Cheng YueLin was simply so angry he could almost start laughing.

His shiny leather shoes slowly moved away from the pair of flats that had sacrificed themselves. He lightly laughed. “Ha. I was kind enough to come over. But you really don’t have a kind heart.”

“Likewise, likewise.”

TL Note: The idiom used here would be “we’re both in the same boat, but I don’t think it fits.”

Cheng YueLin slightly raised his brows and then he understood. So she was holding a grudge for his “metaphor” during their phone call.

He looked at Ruan ZhiYin with a smile that was not a smile. He carefully considered her expression: “What is it? You aren’t pretending to be obedient, anymore?”

Ruan ZhiYin paused when she heard these words and then she suddenly remembered what he would often say in senior high. It was also with this same silly tone.

— Ruan ZhiYin, isn’t it tiring to pretend to be obedient?

During senior high, the personality that Ruan ZhiYin had exhibited was obedient, dull, and inconspicuous.

After staying at the orphanage for a long time, she knew clearly that children who were obedient and harmless were unlikely to be hated and would be able to have an easier time.

In school, this rule was even more applicable to girls. If a girl was too outstanding, than trouble and gossip would easily follow.

Arrogance required confidence.

Ruan ZhiYin knew the attitude of the Lin family. She could only rely on her grandpa. But she was not willing to give her grandpa trouble and did not want to spend energy dealing with the problems. So she was like a snail and desperately reduced her sense of existence.

She was so obedient that she would meekly smile and accept everything. This perfectly stepped on Cheng YueLin’s landmines. He could not accept it at all.

In an unexpected turn of events, his most favourite thing to do was to try and tear away her facade of a good temper.

This was also the reason why Ruan ZhiYin and Cheng YueLin had become archenemies.

After being stunned, Ruan ZhiYin collected her thoughts and looked at the man’s eyes that was filled with scrutiny. But she did not answer Cheng YueLin’s question.

Instead, she pointed at him and then she turned to look at Kang Yu who had been frozen in place.

“The groom has arrived. We can start the wedding.”

That’s right. Cheng YueLin had always known that she was not someone who would just meekly accept things people throw at her. She was also not particularly “obedient”.

Right now she is no longer who she used to be. She really no longer had to pretend. Especially… In front of him.
