Chapter 281 Mood Disruption

The trip to Frono didn't take that long as it took the goalkeeper approximately two hours to get there.

After stepping down from the airplane, he made his way outside and stopped beside the road to look around.

"Clark was with me last time, but this time, it's only me." He said as he slowly looked around the area.

For some reason, the sky at Frono always appeared to be brighter than the one at Unique FC.

'I didn't get to see this bright sky for a long time the last time I was here.' He said subconsciously. 'I just hope I don't get a quest to walk to their company again.'

<What's the deal? It's just a quest, if you don't feel like doing it, then just ignore it>

'Yeah, but if the rewards for the quest are too good, I will be tempted to do it.'

<Then blame yourself for that>

'I should stop a cab fast before that quest pops up.'

As soon as he said that, he saw a cab going in the direction that he was going and quickly waved his hands to stop it.

Nothing popped up on his system as he got into the cab and even after driving off toward his destination, nothing popped up until they had gone quite a distance from where he was picked up.

'Stop the taxi? You have to be kidding me.'

<It's your choice>

'Yeah, but I'm getting the feeling that this is all doing, Catherine.'

<I've told you several times, I am not the one in control of handing out quests>

'Yeah, but sometimes, it's quite hard to believe that.' He said subconsciously. 'If you're trying to get me to do something stupid, it won't work, I forfeit the quest.' He added before crossing his arms.

[ Quest forfeited ]

'Oh, so that's what happens when I decide to forfeit a quest.'

<Of course, what else were you expecting to happen?>

'Nothing, I was expecting nothing to happen but I guess this works out better since I don't get to look at that tempting quest anymore.'

Making the right choice of taking a cab meant that he got to his destination fast, and after getting there, he slowly made his way inside.

The video was nothing too complex so they were able to get it done in no time, shooting the video didn't take much time, but getting everything sure took a lot of time, and because of that, Dave had to start heading downstairs to leave the building by 4:30 PM.

He had taken notice of the cloud growing dark from up there before entering the elevator and he hoped that the rain wouldn't pour down just yet, but as soon as he stepped into the elevator, a large spark of lightning ran through the sky and a few seconds later, the thunder followed.

As soon as that roaring sound came from the sky, small droplets of water began to drop from the sky, and in no time, they turned to larger droplets and like that became a full-fledged storm.

Dave didn't know that it had already started raining until he got downstairs.

"Oh, come on." He said, sounding a bit depressed as he made his way to the door.

Just looking out from the glass, he could see that rain was quite a heavy one and there was lightning everywhere, but he had to get home.

<I don't think it's a good idea to go outside during a storm like this>

He didn't listen and opened the door and that was when the strong wind blew against him.

'I could swear that pushed me back a bit.'

<It's not looking good out there, get back inside>

'Well, that's a cheap quest, but I'll take it.' He said subconsciously before he closed the door and quickly made his way to one of the seats in the area and sat down there.

<You wanted a quest>

'Yeah, and I got it.' He replied. 'All I have to do is sit here until the storm stops and I will be rewarded.'

After sitting in one place for a few minutes, he got bored and pulled out his phone from his pocket to keep himself busy in the meantime, but what he was seeing now was quite shocking.

"Thirty missed calls?" He muttered with a shocked expression on his face.

Thirty missed calls and they were all from Emma.

'How did this happen? I didn't feel any vibration.'

He quickly pressed the volume button on the phone to see that it had been in silent mode all this while.

'How did this happen? I don't remember putting my phone on silent. Did you do this, Catherine?'

<No, it wasn't me, why would I want to do something like that? I'm not even linked to your phone anymore, you must have done it by accident>

'Yeah.' He said subconsciously with his gaze still fixed on his phone's screen. 'Thirty times and I didn't pick up once, I can't imagine how worried she must be now.'

<You should have called her before leaving>

'I forgot.'

<And you haven't even bothered to check your phone since you left until now>

'I got carried away with everything that was going on.' He replied before putting his head down.

While his head was down, his phone began to vibrate.

He quickly raised his head to check the caller expecting it to be his wife but it turned out to be Clark.

"Hey, Dave, what's up?" Clark said as soon as he picked up the call.

"I'm okay." Was Dave's only response.

"Where are you, buddy? Emma just called me now, she's been calling you for a while but she hasn't gotten any response."

"Yeah, I just found that out now, I accidentally put my phone in silent so I didn't know she was calling."

"Okay, so where are you now?"

"Frono."

"If you're here in Frono then you must be at Footy Wears," Clark said.

"Yeah, they needed me to help them with something."

"You didn't even tell me about it," Clark muttered.

"I called you but your phone seemed to be off so I moved on and forgot about it as soon as I got here."

"That's okay, just call Emma quickly, she's seriously worried about you."

"I know, I'm about to do that."

"Okay, then, I'll call you later," Clark said before ending the call.

After answering that call, the goalkeeper let out a deep sigh before dropping his phone on the space left on the seat.

'Catherine, you remember when I told you that there's always something to disrupt my mood every single day?'

<Yeah, I don't forget things>

'Yeah, that's right, but it looks like my mood disruption period has just arrived.'

As soon as said that, he felt the vibration from his phone and quickly turned his gaze to it, to see that it was exactly who he was expecting to call.

"Here we go." He let out a sigh before picking up the phone.
