Chapter 280 Another One

"Three players that were in the starting eleven of the squad that led Unique FC to its Europa League title glory." The goalkeeper said before slowly raising his head.

'Let's see.'

<Are you sure you know them, because I am not seeing anything here?>

"You have ten seconds, Dave," Mateo said.

"Umm….Devon Richards, Peter Jameson, and Saul Ramirez." He answered.

The little click sound was for all the people he mentioned which meant that he got them all right.

"Looks like you got past that one," Mateo said.

"Wait, Devon Richards? Is he related to you in any way, Dave?" Merino asked.

"Yeah, he was my grandfather." The goalkeeper replied.

"Grandfather huh, and what was his position?"

"Same as mine."

"Oh, I see, you wanted to be like your grandpa." The winger said.

"Um…not exactly."

"You're doing quite well in following in his footsteps," Merino said before turning his gaze to Mateo. "It's your turn."

"Yeah, three players in the Europa League squad, um….Henderson Drei,..... Kelvin Phil and Michael Spree." The winger answered quickly before the ding sound to indicate his ten seconds getting exhausted sounded.

"That was close," Dave said.

"Yeah." The winger said with a smile on his face. "Your turn, Merino."

As soon as he said that, the ten seconds countdown began and now the winger who knew little about Unique FC's history compared to both of his teammates had to answer the question before his time gets exhausted.

"This is tough, and I had to be the last person on top of that." He said. "Um…. let's see, Dickson Morales."

"You actually got one right," Mateo muttered as the click sound was heard.

"Saul Ramirez."

"I already said that," Dave said as the buzz sound was heard.

That was where Merino got stuck as he didn't know who else to call until his time was exhausted.

"You guys stole all of them." He said before crossing his arm.

"There are eleven players on a pitch and we only mentioned three each which was just six, you just had to choose from the remaining five." Mateo expressed.

"Yeah, but I don't know who they are, so." The winger said, forcing out a little chuckling from both of his teammates.

While they were at that, the second question popped up on the whiteboard.

According to the expressions they had on their faces, this one looked like it was easier than the first one.

"Name a player who converted his penalty kick in the penalty shootout against AC Milan in the UEFA Super Cup final." Dave read out loud.

"Looks like you're going first on this one, Merino, just like you wanted," Mateo said.

"Oh, yeah."

As soon as he said that, his countdown began, and now, he had to answer the question before the time limit.

"Um…Saul Ramirez."

By the way he said that you would know that it was guessed but that didn't matter here as the click sound was heard, an indication that he got the right answer.

"You luckily got that one," Mateo said.

"That wasn't luck, it was pure knowledge."

"O…Kay." The winger said before turning his gaze to the camera to answer the question as his time had already begun. "Raphael Stone."

The click sound was heard in the background as soon as he said that, so that was also a correct answer.

"No doubt about that." The winger said. "Your turn, Dave."

"Yeah, Devon Richards." He answered the question before his countdown.

"If it got to the point of goalkeepers taking kicks, then that must have been a pretty wild penalty shootout

"Yeah, that's the exact word to describe it, it was very very wild, they were playing against the champions of Europe then after all." Dave expressed.

"Looks like this Unique FC squad were the best in history," Merino said.

"Yeah, and they are still the best."

After that fun session which lasted for about fifteen minutes for the players, they were allowed to go as it was now up to the editing team to do the needful before putting the video out.

"That was pretty fun, don't you think, guys?" Mateo said as he walked to the parking area alongside both of his teammates.

"Yeah, and I got to learn new things that I didn't know about this club, this city, and this country as a whole," Merino said. "You know quite a lot about your home, city, and club, more than Mateo does."

"Hey, he only blundered on one question and that question didn't have anything to do with those things, he only said what he thought," Dave said.

"Yeah, but it wasn't exactly factual was it?" The right winger said. "Oh, why am I even talking? I only got one point out of all the questions we had to answer."

"It's a good thing you were the one that said that," Mateo said.

He was trying quite hard to keep his face straight here.

"I knew you would have still said it anyway."

"Hmph."

After saying their goodbyes, the players made their way to their cars, started the engines, and zoomed off.

Dave got home by 12:45 PM, so Emma was still at work and it looked like he was going to be home alone for quite a while.

"It's been a great day so far." The goalkeeper raised both of his hands to stretch himself as he made his way to the couch and crashed down on it.

'I think I'll just have a couple of relaxing hours and then go do something interesting before Emma comes back. I have a feeling she's going to be in a bad mood tonight.'

<And why is that?>

'My days are not usually all smooth, there's always some sort of mood disruption small or big.'

<And you think something like that is going to happen, in other words, you want it to happen>

'Not exactly, if I could avoid it, I would, but it's inevitable so I am always prepared for it.'

"Let's see if there's anything interesting to watch here."

He picked up the remote and was about to turn the television on when his phone began to vibrate in his pocket.

He quickly pulled the phone out from his pocket expecting it to be anyone among his frequent callers but that wasn't it, he was surprised to see the name being displayed on the screen as the caller.

'Mr. Kent, he's never called me before, so it must be for something important.' He said subconsciously before pressing the answer option.

"Hello, Mr. Kent." He said after putting the phone against his ear.

"Hello, Dave, how're you doing?"

"I'm okay." He replied. "Is anything wrong?"

"No, everything's fine, I just need you for something," Kent replied from the other side.

"What is that?"

"We're going to be shooting a promotion video today, and we want you to be in it."

"So, you want me to fly over to Frono now." The goalkeeper said.

"Yeah, if it's convenient for you."

"I'm not doing anything now, so, it's okay, but you guys should try giving me a headstart for things like this in the future so that I can make time for it and be prepared." He said.

"Yeah, my apologies for not telling you earlier, we'll inform you earlier next time."

"Okay, then, I'll be on my way now." The goalkeeper said before getting up from the couch.

"Okay, see you later then, bye."

<You just finished that filming session at the Wondanimo stadium and now you're going for another one>

'No, Catherine, I'm going on an adventure, what a day this has been so far.'
