Chapter 279 Unique FC's Special: How Much Do You Know?

The score for both teams were being displayed on the scoreboard and things weren't looking good for Unique FC.

The score was Unique FC one, Dynamo FC two, Dynamo FC were leading the score, and not only that, they were dominating the game.

Their first goal came from a penalty which Dave couldn't do anything about, but the second goal shocked the goalkeeper.

A powerful shot was sent flying toward his goalpost from twenty-five yards out, and even with his ball magnet activated, he wasn't able to do anything to stop it as the ball curled into the goalpost from the top right side.

They were the ones to open the scoring after a clever run from Mateo to set up Ferran right at the edge of the box.

The attacking midfielder shot low from there and although the goalkeeper dived toward the ball at that time, there was nothing he could do to stop it.

That was how Unique FC opened the score but now, they have been put behind with just ten minutes left for normal time to be exhausted.

"These guys are something else," Dave said as he watched his teammates getting outclassed by Dynamo FC.

"Don't take it too seriously, this is just what they will play like at full strength, right now in the real world, they're not in their best form and their main striker is out injured, so there's no way the match on Friday is going to be like this. Also, there's a chance that I may have overhyped a few of the players here." Catherine explained.

"Yeah, I guess you're right, but that doesn't I'm going to let them humiliate us."

At that time, the right winger broke free from Roland to gain space to run down the wing before floating the ball over to the striker who had managed to scramble his way past Adolf and into the box.

He jumped up to meet the ball and with his head, he put the ball past Dave and into the box from the right, there was nothing the goalkeeper could do about it.

The referee blew his whistle and pointed to the kick-off spot as the goalkeeper crashed to the floor inside the goalpost and let out a sigh.

"This match is over, take me back, Catherine."

"Okay."

As soon as she said that, everything and everyone there began to disintegrate until it got to him and when his body was done disintegrating, he found himself back on his bed.

He opened his eyes to see that he was still lying on his back, so the first thing he saw was the ceiling and when he turned to the side, he could see that Emma was awake, it looked like she had been staring at him waiting for him to wake up.

"You're awake, good morning." She said with a bright smile on her face.

"Good morning." Dave smiled before pushing closer to her. "I hope you had a nice sleep."

"Yeah, and you?"

"Same here." He said before locking lips with her.

As soon as their lips touched, she quickly wrapped her arms around him and pulled him over her body.

After a morning bed session, Dave lost a bit of energy but it wasn't enough to stop him from doing his daily routine but he was only able to complete seven kilometers.

He skipped the gym and only did a few push-ups and sit-ups before making his way back inside.

It was perfect timing as Emma was just done setting up the table when he entered the house.

"When you said you were going to be home for breakfast, I thought you were kidding because of the way you said it, but you weren't." She said before pulling out a chair for him. "Come have a seat."

The two ate breakfast together and after that, they went upstairs to get ready together.

Emma had to get to work and he had something to deal with at the stadium today.

They got ready together and since Dave's appointment time was 10:00 AM, he dropped her off to work before heading to the stadium.

He got to the stadium by 9:10 AM to see that two cars were already parked there, which meant that both of his teammates were already there.

"I guess, I'm the last person to arrive." He said as he stepped down from his car.

<Yeah, but it's not like you're late or anything>

"I know."

He made his way into the building and straight to the room where they were going to be doing what they had for today and that was where he found Mateo talking to one of the video crew, but Merino was nowhere to be found.

By the time he got closer to the winger, the man had already left and he turned around to see him.

"Oh, hey, Dave, what's up?" He said before raising his hand for a handshake which was followed up with a shoulder bump as always.

"They're getting things ready, huh." The goalkeeper said as he looked around the area.

A lot of lights were being set up in the area and the area for the shooting was being set up.

"Yeah," Mateo replied.

"Where's Merino by the way? I saw his car outside." The goalkeeper asked.

"He was with me a few minutes ago, but he said he needed to go grab a few things." The winger said.

"Oh, you're here now."

The goalkeeper quickly turned to the entrance where the voice had come from to see Merino standing there with a can of soda in his hand.

"Merino." The goalkeeper said. He found him to be a bit different from the last time he saw him.

The winger had caught his slightly long hair, but the Strand that used to slightly cover his right eye was still there although he seemed to have cut it a little bit.

<There's nothing to be surprised about, he just touched his hair a bit>

'Yeah, I know, I wasn't surprised.'

It took about forty minutes to get everything ready, and by 10:20 AM everything was set and ready.

The players were sitting in the seats set up in front of a green screen so that the editing team would be able to add effects.

Dave was sitting on the right from the camera's view, Mateo in the middle, and Merino on the left.

The supervisor was there with them now, and once everything was set, he gave the signal to start the show.

"Hello everyone, I am Dave Richards of Unique FC." The goalkeeper.

"I am Mateo Smith."

"I am Christian Merino."

"And this is Unique FC's special, how much do you know?" They said in unison.

"I am definitely going to get crushed here," Merino said before slowly putting his head down.

"Why is that?" Dave asked.

"Both of you are from Bilbeth and you were brought up at the academy, I only joined the club two seasons ago." The winger expressed.

"That's not entirely true, right, Mateo?"

"You don't have to give him false hope," Mateo said, trying the hold in his laughter.

"I think Mateo thinks you're going to get crushed," Dave said with a poker face.

Merino didn't even know what to do and just turned back to the camera.

"It will be disgraceful if I manage to beat both of you."

Since no one else was supposed to be in the show, the questions were projected to them on a whiteboard and it was the job of the editing team to edit that into the video when they start editing it.

The first question was showing on the board and the three of them could see it now.

"Name three players in the starting eleven of the squad that led Unique FC to their UEFA Europa League glory." Dave read out.

"You're going first, Dave," Mateo said.

"Yeah." He responded with a nod.

He had ten seconds to list that, and since he was going first, he had the advantage because none of the players had been called yet.
