Chapter 148 Overcome The Wind

'What do you mean you know why I got the quest?' Dave inquired.

<Look around, don't you feel something different in the atmosphere?>

Dave didn't reply immediately as he slowly began to look around.

'Yeah, it's a little windy today.' He replied before bringing out his palm to feel the wind.

<Exactly and the wind can be troublesome to football players most of the time>

'That's what stopped the balls from hitting the crossbar, especially the second one.'

<Yeah, the reason for this quest is for you to learn how to overcome this wind trouble, this will also be useful when you're keeping on a windy day>

"This is going to be tough." The goalkeeper said before turning his gaze to the remaining six balls.

'I have six balls remaining, If I miss two more, the quest is over for me.'

He took two steps backward before he quickly raced toward the next ball and sent it flying toward the goalpost, adding a little bit of shot power compared to what he used on the previous two balls.

His aim was the middle point of the crossbar but before the ball could get there, it curved and hit the left angle of the crossbar.

"That was close." He said before letting out a sigh of relief.

<Yeah>

[ Quest progress: ⅕ crossbar hits ]

[ Tries remaining: 5 ]

Dave turned his gaze to the next ball in line and let out a deep breath before taking two steps backward.

He closed up on the ball and quickly sent it flying toward the crossbar.

This time it looked like the wind had calmed down a bit as the ball flew toward the right side of the crossbar and hit it.

"Yes," Dave said with a cheerful voice.

[ Quest progress: ⅖ crossbar hits ]

[ Tries remaining: 4 ]

'Three more to go.'

He took two steps backward as always before he closed up on the ball next in line and sent it flying toward the left angle but before the ball could hit the crossbar, it got pushed off by the wind.

"Oh, no." The goalkeeper muttered.

<You should have aimed for the middle point of the crossbar>

"I know." He mumbled.

<If you miss one more shot, the quest is over>

The goalkeeper wasn't too quick to move this time as he stared at the remaining three balls for a while before he slowly took two steps backward.

He quickly closed up on the ball next in line and quickly sent it flying toward the crossbar.

This time the wind wasn't able to do anything as the ball smashed past it and hit the middle point of the crossbar.

'Yes.'

[ Quest progress: ⅗ crossbar hits ]

[ Tries remaining: 2 ]

'Two tries to get two hits.' Dave said before folding his hands into fists with his gaze on the remaining two balls.

He took two steps backward before closing up on the next ball.

The ball was flying toward the crossbar but before it could get to it, it was pushed down by the wind and flew into the goalpost instead.

"Oh, come on," Dave said before crashing to the floor.

[ Quest failed ]

<At least you came close to completing>

"Stupid wind." He grumbled.

<Why don't you begin your training session and come back to the quest later? But you'll have to do it before the wind stops>

The goalkeeper did as Catherine told him and started his training session and after about an hour and some minutes, he made his way to grab some water.

'I'll try the quest again after my little break.' He said subconsciously before making his way into the house.

He made his way to the kitchen and opened the fridge to grab a bottle of water before he slowly walked out of the kitchen.

He made his way to the dining table and was about to sit down on one of the seats when he heard something from the television which was still on.

"Champions League." He muttered before making his way to the area.

What was currently showing on the television was a football pundit show, but this one was for the champions league and there were just two men sitting opposite each other, a black man and a white man.

"Barcelona beat Tottenham Hotspur four goals to zero after drawing one, one with them in their first meeting and now the Catalans are through to the final." The black man said.

"And Manchester City beat Liverpool one goal to nothing to make it to the final with the away goal advantage." The white man said.

"What are your thoughts Rick, do you think Barcelona will be able to win it after missing out on it for two seasons or do you think Manchester City will get their hand on their first-ever Champions League trophy?" The black man asked.

'So, Barcelona versus Manchester City in the final, I thought Manchester City wouldn't be able to get past Liverpool.' The goalkeeper thought.

"I don't think there's any argument here, Barcelona will defeat Manchester City in the final and lift the trophy for the sixth time in their history but I don't think they are going to have it easy with Man City.

"The Manchester side have only conceded a total of nine goals throughout the competition meanwhile Barcelona have conceded seventeen goals. Manchester City are better defensively but when it comes to attacking, they aren't there yet, they have scored nineteen goals throughout the competition while Barcelona have scored thirty-two goals.

"Barcelona may be the weaker team defensively but they've got the attack to make up for it, I think it will be decided by how well Manchester City will be able to hold them down. They've got the front three of Ciro, Vasquez, and Lelemar the deadliest trio this season."

"Alright, our guest Rick Mason thinks Barcelona will take home the trophy on Sunday next week, well, we will have to wait till then to find that out." The black man said. "That's all for today, and I will see you next time in The Champions League update."

"Barcelona versus Manchester City huh, that's a match I won't want to miss." The goalkeeper said before taking down the last contents in his bottle of water.

'Now it's time to go finish my business with the wind.' He said subconsciously before dropping the container on the floor and getting up from the couch.

<Just pray the wind hasn't stopped>

Dave didn't reply to her as he made his way to the door and opened it for a quick rush of wind to blow against his face.

Dave had a horrid look on his face as stared toward the goalpost while feeling the strong surge of wind on his body.

"It just got worse." He muttered.
