Chapter 83 Be Careful

Mateo, Ferran, Merino, Roland, Minino, Edward, Roberto, and Adolf.

All eight players were gathered in front of Dave's goalpost to see how well Dave was going to do in keeping their shots from that spot out.

Mateo was the first to take his shot, he aimed it toward the right side of the post with a little elevation.

If he had kicked that ball with more added power, it would have been really difficult for Dave to save but the ball had already been played and all Dave did was dive toward it and with both of his hands, he caught it before it could go any further.

"Nice save," Mateo said.

"Thanks," Dave said before getting up and rolling the ball toward them.

"Alright, Dave," Roberto said as soon as the ball stopped right in front of him. "Let's see if you can keep out my shot."

Dave adjusted his gloves properly as Roberto slowly took three steps backward before racing toward the ball with a shot drilled toward the left side not too far from where the goalkeeper was standing.

That was an easy save for Dave as all he did was stick his leg out to prevent the ball from flying into the back of the net.

"My turn," Edward said, stepping up toward the ball.

If a long ball specialist was ever needed to replace either Ferran or Mateo it would be between Edward and Minino given the fact that both midfielders were quite good with free kicks.

Edward only took a step backward from the ball before raising his leg and kicking it from where he was standing.

The ball flew straight toward the top left-hand corner as Dave rushed toward it and tipped it over the bar before it could fly into the goalpost.

"Nice save," Edward said with a little clap as he was quite impressed by the way he had run toward the ball a little before diving toward it instead of diving toward it from where he was standing, if he had done that, then making that save would have been impossible.

The next person was Roland, the youngster wasn't much of a free kick taker but he tried his best.

He floated the ball directly over Dave and it looked like it was going, it really looked like it was going out and Dave knowing what would happen if the ball went out without him touching it quickly jumped up and made its journey over the bar faster.

<Your stamina improvement is great>

'I know, right.'

"I have to say, Dave, you've really surprised me with the saves you've made so far," Minino said, moving toward the ball. "But let's see if you can save mine."

"Yeah, let's see," Dave muttered, adjusting his gloves.

Minino's shot was quite a deadly one aimed toward the top left-hand corner right at the angle.

Dave dived toward the ball and it looked like his hand wasn't going to reach it until...

[ Ball magnet activated ]

With his hand really close to the ball just before it could fly into the net, the ball got pulled closer to his glove for him to push it over the bar.

"Woahhh!!" Was the exclamation that had come from most of them that were standing there including Minino who had taken the shot.

Dave was breathing quite heavily as he slowly got up from the floor.

Making a save like that had made quite a blow on his stamina compared to the other saves he had made.

"How did he suddenly become so good?" Jonas muttered from where he was standing with a pondering look on his face.

Adolf gave the goalkeeper some time to cool off before he stepped up to take his own shot.

"Not much of a free kick taker but here goes nothing," Adolf said before racing toward the ball and drilling a shot toward the bottom left-hand corner.

Dave dived toward the ball with both hands and just to be on the safe side, he used his ball magnet.

The shot wasn't carrying much power so he was able to catch it with the help of his ball magnet skill.

"Nice save," Adolf said with a smile before giving him a thumbs up.

Now it was time for the last person, the deadliest free-kick taker in the squad, Ferran Phil.

"How well can you save a power shot, Dave?" Ferran asked as he moved closer to the ball.

"Is that necessary?" Dave asked with a horrid look on his face.

<The boss always has a deadly special move>

"Yeah, you need to learn how to stop it if we're going to beat a team like Supreme United one day," Ferran said before taking two steps backward.

He quickly closed up on the ball and with a power shot, he sent it toward the top right-hand corner.

Dave dived toward the area just before the ball just before it could get closer as he had already timed where he was going to place it but the problem now was that he had not jumped high enough to get his hands to it.

He wasn't going to get his hands on it until he decided to use something that he had been trying not to use in front of people.

[ Double jump activated ]

Just before he could start falling, he was pushed up by an invisible force from below and was now able to get to the ball in time to push it over the bar with both hands.

After making that save and crashing to the floor, he slowly got up and turned to his teammates to see that almost all of them were looking at him with strange expressions on their faces.

"How did you do that?" Minino asked, walking closer to him.

"Do what?" Dave asked.

"That jump thing, it looked like you were about to fall then you suddenly got pushed up again." He said.

"No, that wasn't what happened," Dave said, shaking his head.

"Then what happened?" Edward asked.

"I jumped up and made the save, that's what happened," Dave said.

"Yeah, but it looks like you were pushed up a little bit to reach the ball," Roland said.

'This chapter is updated by N o v elBin.cᴏm',

"Yeah," Roberto said.

"Hey, guys," Adolf said quickly, stepping up to the area before things got out of hand. "You saw something, I saw it too, but he said he didn't feel anything and nothing happened, so leave him alone.

"Whatever we saw may have been our eyes playing tricks on us."

"I didn't see anything," Mateo said, raising his hands.

"You see, so you guys should stop arguing about what you saw and go continue your training, our opponents will soon be here."

"Correction, they are here," Roland said, looking toward the tunnel area.

After saying that, he quickly made his way to the area to catch up with someone before the rest of the players began to leave one by one until it was just Mateo, Ferran, and Adolf standing in the area.

Adolf turned his gaze to the goalkeeper and stared at him for a while before walking off toward the sidelines.

"I'm going to go dehydrate myself," Mateo said walking off the area.

"It's hydrate," Ferran said.

"Yeah, hydrate myself." Mateo turned to him to say as his cheeks had gone red in embarrassment after realizing what he had said. "Why would I want to dehydrate myself?" He said with a little chuckle before quickly making his way out of the area.

After he was gone, Ferran turned his gaze to Dave, who still hadn't moved from where he was standing.

"Whatever you did there was cool I have to say, I don't know how you did it but I know what I saw and I only have one thing to say to you, just be careful." The midfielder said before he turned and began to walk away from the area.

After he was a few distances gone, Dave let out a sigh of relief before crashing to the floor.

Completing the quest was nice but what had just happened with the skill and his teammates had changed his mood to the extent that he just couldn't feel excited about it anymore.

'This is why I have been avoiding using this skill, is there even any way of using this skill without people noticing and getting suspicious about it?'

<I have been expecting that question for quite a long time now>
