Chapter 5.2. I Knew I’m A True Mob Character

[Dark Arrow]

The light changes its form into a dark arrow and flies at me. I twist and turn to avoid it, but it is already too late. It hit me in the right shoulder and gouged out my flesh. I was blown away by the recoil.

“Ugh…”

My body rolls over and falls face down on the floor. I no longer know where it hurts. It hurts everywhere.

“Damn it. I lose to a wraith.”

I grit my teeth as I realize I’m going to die. I had confused it with a game. I had thought that in a novel, even I would awaken or something. I wanted to cry because I was foolish.

Even though this is the world of novels, it’s reality, and I’m a mob. I was a mob to the extent that I would be a dead kindergartener on tomorrow’s news. I had failed.

I couldn’t even move a muscle anymore. It’s over. I thought to myself as I lost consciousness.

In a game, I would have pressed the touch button to open the status screen and taken a potion from the item box.

It reminded me of a game from my previous life. The game was released when the novel was completed. People played it with a controller in their hand. People did it regardless of their age.

I picked up the controller and pressed the control button.

I imagined it.

I imagined it again.

And then I understood. I was a mob.

I was reminded.

Because.

-Choose Your Job-

In my consciousness, a translucent board appeared before my eyes, displaying a funny message. No, not funny. I have seen this before.

It’s character makeup at the start of the game. You decide your name, what your character looks like, and then your job. And that’s the end of the character makeover.

“Oh, yeah. Oh, damn. I’m in character creation.”

Keeping my fading consciousness, I imagine the controller. No, the cursor moves just thinking about it.

Several jobs appear that I know all too well. There are no hidden jobs, but it’s shown me the basic and top-up jobs.

There is only one choice now. It’s the only job that helps me.

“It’s decided.”

I mutter in a whisper, and the message on the board switches.

-Character Making Complete-

-Enjoy Your Magic Night-

“Oh, I’ll enjoy it. My Magic Night. Until the end of the night.”

I grin. Time to fight back, I think.

Wraith are monsters with nothing but hatred and murderous intent toward the living. It was a monster that came from the recently created dungeon of immortality and was happy to possess the best body with a weak spirit and strong magical power. This body could kill and devour many humans, and it was amused and wanted to kill the surrounding humans.

The wraith was more intelligent than other wraiths. So, as soon as the dungeon was spawned, the intelligent wraith slipped out.

It took a lot of time and effort to defeat the unexpectedly small human, but he no longer fell and did not move. Its body must have collapsed into a pool of blood and was no longer dead.

The owner of its possessed body noticed this and screamed in her head in grief. But that was only amusing to the wraith.

The old woman-like face turns into an eerie smile of terror, and she looks around, ready to kill the other humans. There are still many humans. All of them have no magic power. It would be easy to kill them all. Its instincts tell it if it kills the humans, it can evolve to a higher level.

However, its progress came to an abrupt halt. It was because it sensed a magical power that a moment ago it had only felt in this small human being.

“?”

Wraith is sensitive to magic power. It can sense even the slightest amount of magical power. And yet, even though it hadn’t sensed a shred of it until a few moments ago, it was puzzled by the new magical power it sensed.

It looked around its field of vision and saw that it was coming from a person with a small body that it thought was dead. It was small magic power, but it was indeed magical power. Furthermore, it’s impossible. Magic power can’t be born suddenly and doesn’t come out from anything. Even if people can’t use magic, the magic power is there from the beginning. That is what the Wraith sensed.

[Minor Heal]

It can hear a murmur from the person who it thought was dead. The light attribute is the natural enemy of wraiths. A gentle white light covered the human body and healed it in a blink of an eye. His left arm was cut open, and even the bone was peeking out. The right shoulder, which had been gouged by [Dark Arrow], returned to clean skin without a scratch when the light subsided.

And the fallen human’s hair changed from black to gray. The beautiful hair shimmered with pure white particles and looked silvery.

The small human stands up and puts his hands on the floor.

“Ah, that’s horrible. Is that what mob is all about?”

When he whispered something incomprehensible, the small human turned his attention to the wraith.

“Well, it’s not a tutorial, but I’ll kill you. Be my first prey.”

The human, who had the physique of a small child, smiled like a ferocious beast and confronted the wraith.
