Chapter 127 127 Shadow Potion

Alex waved his hands towards her but she wasn't able to see the hands he was waving, all her attention was focused on the black light she saw in Alex's chest which was where the mark of the sixth elder god was.

'Why is she staring at me, no she isn't staring at me or she would have seen my waving, then something is wrong'

Alex turned sideways and moved a few steps away from where he was still looking at her and her eyes followed him, now he knew she was looking at something in his body.

Immediately Alex walked towards her, "Is something wrong?" Alex shouted.

"Huh!! what are you talking" Jessica said.

"Why are you staring at me like that, is something wrong with the experiment you just did cause I know something is wrong, what is it you aren't telling me?" Alex asked.

"Nothing is wrong with the experiment I did and if something is wrong with it I would have been figuring out a solution by now" Jessica snorted.

"Then what is wrong, we have all day and I'll keep pestering you if you don't tell me," Alex said.

"The glasses I used earlier allow me to see Mana through objects, walls, and other obstacles including humans, and when I looked at you I saw the crystal which I turned into a Mana core shining brightly as it should meaning the experiment worked and now you just need training," Jessica spoke.

"But I also saw something close to your heart or rather inside your heart, a black crystal shining brighter than your Mana core, did you know about it or this is your first time hearing this, what I do next depends on your answer," Jessica said with seriousness visible in her face.

"This is my first time hearing this," Alex said still standing in front of her without wavering.

"It seems you are telling the truth" Jessica mumbled breathing heavily, Alex looked at her more closely and it felt like she was shaking in fear.

"Have you seen something like this before, you are clearly afraid," Alex said.

"I've heard of something called the shadow potion, a black liquid that grants superhuman strength when ingested but continuous usage of the potion causes a black crystal like the one in your body to appear in the user's body" Jessica continued.

"The black crystal drains their life force over time and eventually turns them into a monster who kills anyone in their path till they are finally killed"

"Wait so you mean I will eventually turn into a monster who kills anyone I see?" Alex asked with his eyes widely opened.

"You didn't consume the shadow potion so I think yours is something different," Jessica said.

"Wait...what about the black substance you give me, that substance that taste gross?"

"That's different, do you think I would depend on something like that to save someone from death, it's better to leave them cause you don't know what it might cause in the process"

"Eh...wait wait, what do you mean death, did I die? why aren't you saying anything, I died right?" Alex shouted.

"But the most important thing is that I brought you back to life, you should be thanking me," Jessica said.

"You are the reason I died in the first place, what if you couldn't bring me back?"

"Then your death would serve as an advancement in my studies, and the next human I use would surely live" Jessica chuckled as she spoke.

"At least am alive and it worked"

"Yes, but I'm still concerned about the black crystal in your body, I don't know if it has something to do with the shadow potion"

"That's why you were afraid, if I was actually using the shadow potion, what would you have done?" Alex asked.

"I would have killed you" Jessica spoke immediately.

"If I was using the shadow potion, I don't think I would be easily defeated"

"That was why I was afraid, unlike my sisters I'm not much of a fighter and when it comes to casting spells, mine are a lot weaker and deal little to no damage except I use a special potion that I designed, and none of them are with me right now" Jessica explained.

"So you were afraid cause I was going to kill you for finding out, how many people know about this? I have never heard anything about a shadow potion" Alex spoke.

"You haven't been to the Gold continent, the use of the shadow potion started there and slowly it began to expand to the Silver continent, though they haven't been a case where the shadow potion is used in the Bronze continent but I know it is here"

"Who produces such a potion, they should be killed to stop the potion from spreading," Alex said.

"It would have been done if it was possible, no one has seen the person responsible for producing the potion, at first people were reluctant to use it, but a small village used the shadow potion to invade a city and overthrow the ruler"

"That means it's really dangerous, but how come your spells are weak, which element do you control?"

"Ice and the best spell I currently have is this," Jessica said and placed her hands on the ground.

Behind Alex snow poured out and eventually, it hardened to create an ice golem, the ice golem stood still with its eyes glowing, it had an intimidating aura till Alex looked at its stats.

[Ice Golem]

[Level 2]

[HP: 40]

"The golem is really weak" Alex blurted out.

"I told you it's weak, but it's painful when you say it like that," Jessica said with her head down.

"How many of these can you create at once, and if they are destroyed can you create more?" Alex asked.

"I can create five at most, but I can keep creating them infinitely as long as they keep getting killed, why are you asking, you seem happy"

"Of course, I'm going to use them for training and target practice" Alex smirked.
