Chapter 96 96 Bridget 2

"You look so cute when you are flustered, I can't wait to..."

"Stop...how can you say things like that openly" Alex shook his head.

"Ohh, so you want us to talk about it in private" Bridget smiled.

"That's not what I meant, people don't usually take about stuff like this openly"

The two of them were now outside of the city heading for the forest, the group of players also exited the city gate but they all stopped for some reason.

"They are not following us anymore," Alex said as he casually turned around to look at them.

"If they keep following us, we would suspect so I think they are waiting to create some distance" Bridget spoke.

"After this would you teach me how to throw knives?"

"If we survive then sure, I'll teach you"

"If we survive...earlier you sounded like you had everything under control, I just hope none of them are long-range fighters" Alex sighed softly.

"Are you afraid of long-range fighters?"

"Of course, they are extremely good in the forest because of trees, we fought two shooters in the forest, the marksman was good but the only problem was his reload time"

"I fought a Hitman, his reload time was shorter but his gun wasn't as strong as the marksman's gun"

"Most of the long-range fighters are extremely useless against an assassin, especially at night, have you ever fought at night?" Bridget asked.

"Yes, skeletons" Alex replied.

"At night can your eyes see in darkness?"

"I haven't really noticed but I was still able to defeat the skeletons, I just remembered something, have you ever seen a notification about absorbing energy?" Alex asked.

The last time he fought the skeleton mage, he was able to absorb the curse energy that the mage put in his body, he wanted to know if maybe it was a skill unique to assassins.

"Absorb energy, I've never seen that, what's that?" Bridget asked.

'He's already able to use the abilities of the sixth, even the chosen warriors haven't unlocked their abilities, this boy is different, maybe killing him would be a waste' Bridget mumbled under her breath.

"I was fighting a skeleton mage and it did something to me then I saw a notification about absorbing the curse energy and amplifying it, and my next attack shattered the skeleton to pieces"

"Really are you sure you are not just making that up?" Bridget asked as she chuckled softly.

"Huh! why would I be lying?" Alex asked.

"I don't know, to impress me maybe"

Alex shook his head as he didn't even know what to say next, and Bridget was right, the players were now following them but they split up into three groups.

Four of the players were behind Alex and Bridget while the others changed direction but still headed for the forest, they wanted to trap them with nowhere to run.

"We're approaching the forest, once we get in we'll run forward for a while till we get to a place where there is little light then we stop and see what happens," Bridget said.

"What if we are killed by shooters, we should hide behind trees to avoid getting shot" Alex spoke.

"Okay, once we enter just follow me I know a good spot"

"They seem to have increased their pace, they are planning to attack once we get to the forest," Alex said.

"Shit damn it, today isn't a lucky day" Bridget cursed.

"What's wrong, is something in the fores...shit that's a marksman up there" Alex muttered.

"Huh! you can see him from here, your eyesight is really good," Bridget said.

"Didn't you see him why wouldn't I be able to see him, we should think of a plan to avoid that guy, I'm sure he's going to shoot once we get in his range, and we can't stop"

'My eyesight isn't just good–it's extraordinary, this boy just keeps surprising me at every turn'

"Bridget want do we do, if we keep walking forward we're going to get shot at, if we stop we'll have to fight in this open space" Alex spoke.

"Just keep moving, one bullet from the marksman isn't going to kill us and besides I don't think he going to shoot at us, those guys at the back would be killed in one shot so we should keep moving," Bridget said.

"What if he attacks us, this is too risky I can't afford to waste five levels," Alex said looking around for other options.

Bridget looked straight at the marksman, even though she couldn't see the marksman completely she knew he could see her, so she waved her hands a little for the player to see.

[Killer Doll]

[Level 8]

The marksman on top of the tree took a deep breath as she aimed, she was waiting for Alex and Bridget to get close enough for her to kill one of them with a headshot.

"Huh! is she w-waving at me?" killer doll mumbled as she looked at Bridget.

The girl looked around in shock, she was sure she was the only one there but Bridget was waving towards the forest while looking at her, she wasn't even sure Bridget could see her.

"I'm just overreacting, there's no way they can see me, right?" the girl questioned herself.

"Maybe she has a special skill, I heard players get new skills after every ten levels and she's at level 21 so she has two skills and the other guy is at level 17, why am I suddenly afraid of them"

"They are within my range, I should just kill them" she mumbled.

"Don't even think of shooting at us, cause if you do, I'll kill you both in-game and in real life" a voice mumbled in her ears.

"Huh! what was that" the girl shouted as she looked around, only she was there but she heard someone speaking.

"Don't tell me she's...shit she can see me, how is she able to communicate with me from there, and she's going to kill me in real life, what a joke, I'm just going to kill her" the girl said in anger as she aimed at Bridget.

"I already warned you, if you aim at me you are going to die before you take the shot, think twice and this is a skill, I'm the one waving at you," the voice said and killer doll looked forward and Bridget was still waving at her.

"I don't think she's joking, but what if she's just trying to scare me, she can't possibly get me from that distance" killer doll aimed again, this time she was going for the kill.

"The marksman is going to shoot, she's aiming for my head," Bridget said.

"Huh! you said she isn't going to shoot, we are already in her range, a bullet to the head is the end," Alex said.

"Not today" Bridget mumbled as she brought out one of her throwing knives.

"Huh...what are you planning to do with..." Alex stopped as Bridget aimed, she was aiming towards the player in the forest.

'There is no way she trying to do that right? It's impossible to hit the player from here right?' Alex was doubting himself.

"What's she doing, she trying to throw a knife from over there, is she crazy, I knew she was bluffing"

"I'm just going to kill her, it's going to take at least another 1 minute before they arrive so I'll be able to shoot twice, one for each of them" the girl muttered.

Bridget took a step backward and dashed forward, immediately she threw the knife toward the player, even Alex couldn't see the knife she threw.

*Swoosh*

The knife she threw traveled with a swooshing sound as it went towards the girl on the tree, even she didn't actually believe the knife was going to reach her so she was still planning to shoot.

She took a deep breath as she placed her hands on the trigger, Bridget stood still and made it easier for her to be shot.

"Well then, goodbye" killer doll mumbled but before she could take the shot, something flew past her and she turned back to look.

She couldn't see the object that flew past her but she heard a sound, she turned to take aim but Immediately her body refused to follow her orders.

[-80HP]

The notification showed up in front of her, the knife that Bridget threw created a hole in her head and all her HP immediately depleted and she slowly turned into pixels and faded away.

"Spot on...let's go" Bridget shouted with a smile and Alex's jaws dropped.
