Chapter 246 Times Changed

Name:MMORPG: Crowd Control Author:Idczhen
Lei Zhen was in shambles when Doctor Samantha questioned him on whether he robbed a bank or not. Of course, she was joking since robbing a bank in this era was considered a suicide mission.

Banks are so secure that not even meticulous planning on robbing the bank would work out.

"Oh come on, Doctor Samantha, do you think I'm the type to rob a bank just to bring you this kind of car?" Lei Zhen jokingly replied back.

"Well, you're wearing a tuxedo suit, seemingly trying to impress me. So it's kind of hard to tell if you have done something illegal." Doctor Samantha teasingly said, hopping inside the car while making sure her gown wasn't ruined.

After returning to his driver's seat and starting up the car to make their way to the opening theater location, Lei Zhen calmly smiled at her.

"Having a gorgeous doctor being my companion for the day of such an event is my glory. So even if I actually rob a bank, it's all worth the effort to impress you." He said smoothly.

Unfortunately, Doctor Samantha was one feisty woman and would not be like those naive and innocent girls that get charmed right away.

"How long did it take you to come up with those lines?" She asked straightforwardly, clearly unwilling to believe it was something he could come up with on the spot.

pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ Lei Zhen faked a cough and smiled bitterly. It was impossible to even attempt to flirt with her when her intelligence was simply too high.

Thus, he could only keep silent, not knowing what kind of topic he could bring up to have a conversation.

And seeing him being silent with his eyes on the road, Doctor Samantha knew she might have gone a bit too far with her teasing. She was intelligent, but that doesn't mean she had social incapability.

Not only was she a top-tier beauty, but she also had the charisma and intelligence to navigate around in life, communicating with numerous people, each with their own specialty.

"Alright, I'll stop teasing you, Lei Zhen." Doctor Samantha chuckled and raised her hand.

"Let's talk about why you even decided to go to this opening theater? I have checked the actresses Jessica and Bella online, but the movies they acted in aren't the type you would watch." She then asked quite curiously.

The Lei Zhen she knew was similar to an introvert, one that rarely showed any interest in the entertainment world.

In the past, whenever Lei Zhen would go to her office to ask about his sister's condition, he would always use this as an opportunity to ask her numerous medical questions. It was a shameless move because her answers were equivalent to or even better than most of the medical textbooks that a medical student would normally study.

However, it was his shamelessness and eagerness to try to learn that caught her attention. She had then begun to subtly tutor him without actually making it an official thing.

After all, she was a busy doctor with many patients to attend to, and because of that, she had rejected many universities requesting to have her lecture a course.

Meanwhile, Lei Zhen pondered for a few minutes before telling her something that he didn't plan on telling anyone else.

"My chance of being a doctor was officially ruined when the third attempt was sabotaged by my Uncle Lei Quan. In fact, I think the first two attempts of the test that I planned to take were also sabotaged by him." Lei Zhen said emotionlessly.

Now that he had learned of the deed that Lei Quan had done behind his back, Lei Zhen recalled the first two attempts in the past. And sure enough, it was fishy how he managed to have a stomach ache on the first attempt and the second attempt of him fainting simply because he didn't eat breakfast was unrealistic.

Doctor Samantha patiently listened to Lei Zhen's story without interrupting once, but her hand was silently placed on his shoulder, seemingly helping to ease some of his frustration.

Although Lei Zhen had not shown any symptoms, she could tell as a professional doctor that he needed a door to voice his frustration and inner thoughts that he was keeping inside his mind all these times.

By the time Lei Zhen finished voicing out his frustration, Doctor Samantha smiled briefly.

"Your uncle might be able to sabotage your examination, but what do you think about working under me? I doubt your uncle could intervene if I'm involved in the picture since I'm quite influential as well in the medical world." She said confidently.

Her confidence wasn't unfound when even the richest people around the world required her medical advice regarding their condition. And despite the medical being advanced, having someone like Doctor Samantha to diagnose you was like a great reassurance to one's mental health.

There were times when she got paid billions just to do a very basic surgery for famous people. Thus, it was true that Lei Quan could not do anything to sabotage or manipulate any results if Doctor Samantha was to involve herself.

No one would be foolish enough to go against her for the sake of some money if they wished to remain in the medical career field.

Doctor Samantha thought Lei Zhen would readily agree to her suggestion and come under her wing.

Henceforth, she was completely astonished when she heard Lei Zhen rejecting her suggestion.

"Times changed, Doctor Samantha." Lei Zhen pressed the brake to stop the car and stare at her.

"If it was suggested when I failed the third attempt, then I would have been drooling right now at your offer. But my attention is no longer on the medical field anymore. So long as I know I have the actual skills to do treatment, then all is well." He said calmly.

Doctor Samantha nodded her head before asking a solemn question.

"Is it because of the game, Magnolia, that you are currently playing which resulted in you not caring about obtaining the doctor's license?
