Chapter 236 Butler Gongshun Ren

Name:MMORPG: Crowd Control Author:Idczhen
After leaving Doctor Samantha's office, Lei Zhen went to his sister's room to check up on her condition. Once he confirmed that she was still in healthy condition, Lei Zhen left the hospital.

Taking out his phone, he began to dial a number that he had never dialed before.

The phone vibrated for a few seconds before the opposite party accepted his call.

"My dear nephew Lei Zhen. It's been years since you have given me a call." A middle-aged man could be heard on the phone.

"Yeah, it has been quite a while indeed. I have a favor to ask of you." Lei Zhen's tone was bleak and polite.

"I see you're still quite mad at me for the previous incident, but I guess this is a good start now that you are willing to contact me after all these years." The man wasn't offended by his tone of speech and offered to send a driver to pick him up.

pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ "I'm at the usual hospital near Saint Avenue. Though you could probably check my IP address anyway, so I won't speak much here." Lei Zhen replied, and ended the call rather quickly.

The person he dialed was Lei Quan, the little brother of his foster father, Lei Touming.

And although Lei Quan's achievement wasn't as great as Lei Touming, he was still highly respected and wealthy. It was just that their nephew's relationship soured the moment Lei Quan did nothing to assist him when the Lei Enterprise was overtaken by outsiders.

In his claim, Lei Quan said his elder brother's business had nothing to do with him, but he had also warned those who dared to harm him or Lei Qingxuan would suffer severe consequences.

It was because of Lei Quan's public warning that Lei Zhen was able to live quite peacefully without anyone bothering him.

Despite Lei Quan's efforts and actions to protect him, Lei Zhen was still a bit cold toward him as he could not comprehend how and why Lei Quan was able to accept Lei Touming's death easily.

Holding the phone tightly in his hand, Lei Zhen found a nearby curb to sit in as he glanced at the sky.

'How long has it been since I last chatted with Uncle Lei Quan?' He wondered silently. The time had been far too long for him to recall.

"Even if I don't contact him, I bet some of his men are always constantly watching over us." He smiled bitterly, taking a sneak peek at the far end of the street that was completely dark.

There was only darkness in that area, but he was sure that some people were secretly standing there, overwatching his safety. Unless there was any immediate danger to his life, those people would always remain in the shadows and never expose themselves to him.

Ignoring all these details, Lei Zhen opened up his phone to read some of Magnolia's trending news and what most players are currently excited about.

Scrolling through his phone for an unknown time, Lei Zhen noticed a flying car hovering above the street that was slightly away from the curb he was sitting.

He recognized the car logo that belonged to Lei Quan's own business company.

And he was indeed correct when a butler of an old man came out of the door and smiled brightly at Lei Zhen.

The old man had a distinguished air about him, almost as if he had spent his entire life in the service of others. He stood tall and straight, despite his age, and moved with a grace that belied his years.

His face was lined with wrinkles, each one telling a story of a life well-lived. His eyes, though aged, still held a sharpness and intelligence that few could match. His hair was white and neatly combed, a testament to his attention to detail.

As a butler, he was dressed impeccably in a traditional black suit with a white shirt and a black tie. His movements were smooth and efficient, It was as if he had been performing his duties for decades without fail. He carried himself with an air of quiet confidence, his every action a testament to his years of experience.

"Young Master Lei Zhen, our master has been waiting for your call. The master was exhilarated when he realized you have called him after such a long time." The professional butler, Gongshun Ren, was someone that Lei Zhen recognized right away.

Gongshun Ren was a trusted butler that worked for Lei Touming until his death and transferred to work for Lei Quan.

Of course, Gongshun Ren initially requested to assist Lei Zhen, but he refused his assistance, mainly because he was incapable of paying Gongshun Ren's salary.

Gongshun Ren might be a butler on the surface, but he was extremely talented and well-versed in a lot of things that even most international company CEOs were incapable of matching up to him.

"You don't have to refer to me as Young Master Lei Zhen anymore, Butler Gongshun." Lei Zhen calmly said and refused the polite address.

"I'm no longer the young master nor am I as capable as in the past. I'm just a normal human trying to make ends meet." He added.

"That's something I cannot do." Butler Gongshun Ren, however, refused to obey the command and continued to show his utmost respect to Lei Zhen.

"I might no longer serve your father, but I still work for the Lei Clan and my loyalty is always within them. To refer to you other than the young master is an impossible deed."

Lei Zhen could only remain silent as he hopped into the passenger seat that Gongshun Ren was holding the door for. It was futile and pointless to change Gongshun Ren's ways once he decided on something.

There were many instances that Gongshun Ren tried to persuade him to go to Lei Quan, but Lei Zhen adamantly refused the kind gesture. Losing everything in one night and feeling powerless. Lei Zhen had vowed to never rely on others to survive in this cruel world.

Unless absolutely necessary, Lei Zhen wouldn't have called Lei Quan, the only person he could think of that is capable of obtaining the new invention of the Nutrient Solution.

"Please hurry up, Butler Gongshun. Also, you can save your effort in convincing me to stay at Lei Quan's place, so can we just go already?" He said calmly.
