Chapter 201 Compensation

Name:MMORPG: Crowd Control Author:Idczhen
Once Lei Zhen had ordered Howard to respond back politely and the compensation terms, the other side was filled with distraught.

"S-Senior Jack, these people are simply a lion opening their wide mouths. How could they even ask us to compensate for this much money?" Charter said nervously at the sideline.

His eyes nearly popped out when he saw the exorbitant prices that Lei Zhen was asking.

The amount was enough to feed their country for at least 3 months, and their population was immense.

That alone should be sufficient to say just how much money was Lei Zhen asking for.

Meanwhile, Jack Scarecrow remained expressionless as he subtly closed the official documents sent by Lei Zhen.

pαndα,noνɐ1,сoМ He took a deep breath before commanding one of the soldiers, "Tell them that the terms shall be met and that I hope to invite them for a banquet as an apology for our previous hostility."

The soldier didn't dare to retort and merely nodded his head before dismissing himself to complete the order.

However, Jack Scarecrow wasn't done as he commanded a few more soldiers to quickly detain Charter Heisen.

"For the crime of not arresting a wanted criminal level of four stars and failure to maintain proper order in the Tris Port, alarming the nearby citizens. Charter Heisen is hereby stripped of his military duty and shall be tried in a military court someday later."

Jack Scarecrow's command was like the death sentence of Charter Heisen.

There was no turning back or a chance of redemption since being stripped of their military duty was equivalent to being fired.

No one would employ a military man that was discarded in such a humiliating manner. Not to mention, being tried in the military court was the worst possible outcome for any soldier.

There is no leniency in the military court and once convicted, they might have to go into hiding permanently to avoid the spotlight.

Charter Heisen was lifeless as he cursed his little brother to death, even though he knew his little brother might have been killed already by the gunshot he had heard previously.

Being dragged away by the other soldiers who showed a pitiful gaze at him, Charter Heisen knew his life was over.

Just a simple mistake of trying to fool Lei Zhen and rescue his little brother had caused his entire life.

'That damn person… I'll definitely get my revenge.' Charter Heisen vowed vengeance. Except that he had never heard of the real identity of Lei Zhen since he had referred to himself as the captain of Caprice and nothing else during their first interaction.

When he realized this, Charter felt like he had stepped into the trap that was set up by Lei Zhen all along.

Alas, that would be a story for another day since Lei Zhen soon had his Caprice docked at the Tris Port.

He was now a celebrity, being personally greeted by a legend of Athea in public.

"Welcome to Athea, fellows from Yors Castle. I'm sure the journey might have been harsh, especially after what you have just experienced. I'm Jack Scarecrow and I would be the host to show our sincere apology for the unintended hostility moment." Jack Scarecrow extended his hand out and said politely.

Lei Zhen also didn't make things difficult for Jack Scarecrow since he had gotten a little information regarding him.

Jack Scarecrow held a prestige identity in Athea, and one could say he would be similar to Robert Knightman, albeit much higher than the former.

Lei Zhen extended his hand out as well and shook Jack Scarecrow's hand.

"The pleasure is mine, Senior Jack. I'm a former chancellor of Yors Castle, so you can just refer to me as such." He introduced himself subtly.

Revealing his identity in public was not his style since it would attract too much attention. The ships' attack at the Tris Port had most likely been spread around, so players would tend to gather quickly here due to their curiosity.

And with that in mind, Lei Zhen was sure that the forums are already exploding with this incident.

Jack Scarecrow was an experienced man and could straight up tell Lei Zhen didn't wish to reveal his identity in public. Thus, he didn't waste any time and ordered a carriage to allow them to board safely to a hotel.

As for their ship, no one in their mind would dare to plot against it considering how Charter Heisen was quickly detained and imprisoned.

If even someone of his status had been punished so harshly, then who knows what would happen to those that held no military achievements or honors on their shoulders.

Sometime later, they officially boarded the carriage and were soon heading to the main city of Athea.

The Athea country's building style was completely different from Yors Castle which held a westernized look.

Instead of the westernized appearance and concepts, Athea was more of a steampunk theme with multiple with a bunch of machinery buildings along the side.

'Seems like Athea is way more advanced than Yors Castle.' Lei Zhen thought to himself, seeing the train that was going through the middle of the city without hindrance.

There were towering factories and workshops belched smoke and steam into the sky, their massive pipes and chimneys reaching up towards the clouds.

The streets were also lined with wrought iron lamp posts, their warm and yellow light casting long shadows on the cobbled pavement.

The buildings themselves were a marvel of mechanical ingenuity, with spinning gears, rotating pistons, and hissing steam vents visible from every angle. Brass pipes and valves crisscrossed the exterior of the structures, and enormous clock faces adorned the towers and spires.

As Lei Zhen admired the scenery of this steampunk theme country that is vastly different than Yors Castle, a hint of excitement could be seen underneath his mask.

'Finally, this is what I called being in a video game should feel like. Can't wait to explore Athea later on.' Lei Zhen smiled inwardly.
