Chapter 166 Tang Group

Name:MMORPG: Crowd Control Author:Idczhen
Seeing that there was a private reservation room for the Tang Group, made Lei Zhen recall just how huge their gap was.

If it was in the past when he was still the young master of the Lei Enterprise, then their social standing had no differences.

However, times have changed and he was just a nobody now in terms of the wealthy people's eyes. Even nobody like Ivan Chen could taunt him compared to the past.

Just when Lei Zhen tried to open the door, there was a security measure that prompted him to place his finger at the side and show his eye pupil.

This was a common security method to confirm that the person trying to open the door was the correct person, preventing anyone from sneaking in.

Putting his finger on the print and leaning his eyes close to the scanner, the system took a few seconds before confirming his identity.

Confirmed Status: Lei Zhen.

Welcome to Golden Restaurant!

The system prompt listed and he was able to open the door now that he had verified his identity.

"You've finally made it here, Lei Zhen. I thought you might have gotten lost or decided not to come in the end." Tang Qiaolian waved her hand and echoed for him to join the table.

The table was still empty with only some wines and other beverages available for them to choose from.

Seeing the wines, Lei Zhen was slightly nervous for a moment as he recalled his drunken moment which almost caused a huge incident.

He glanced around the surroundings and asked, "Where's the supposed person that wanted to meet with me?"

"No rush, that person is taking her time." Tang Qiaolian replied, not revealing many details.

"Anyway, the menu is listed on the small tablet so you can choose what you want to eat. Since I'm the host, I'll be paying so you can rest assured." She added, changing the topic of conversation.

Understanding that Tang Qiaolian doesn't wish to spill any beans, Lei Zhen could only reluctantly grab the tablet to see what's on the menu.

However, his eyes nearly popped off when he saw the price of the food.

It wasn't wrong to say the price was done by a scammer, overcharging the food on purpose, and reminding him of a certain someone that love to sprinkle salt alongside his arm hair.

"What's wrong, Lei Zhen?" Tang Qiaolian asked when she noticed a look of disgust on Lei Zhen's face.

And with a serious face, Lei Zhen turned his attention to her.

"Can we eat some street food instead? Or even better, I'll go buy some groceries right now and cook some food for us." He calmly asked.

"..."

Twitching her mouth, Tang Qiaolian doesn't know whether to laugh or cry. She should have expected his reaction to being like this when he saw the price tag of the food.

Though it was kind of easy for her to make such a mistake since the price tag on the menu couldn't even put a dent in her wallet,

Yet that couldn't be applied to Lei Zhen since that would be almost his salary for approximately three months.

'Just where did the old Lei Zhen go?' She wondered silently.

pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ Although Lei Zhen might not have retained some memories of his old self because of the car accident, he was a filthy rich young master in the past.

Prices were never a problem for him as he never glanced at them when ordering food or other items.

"Lei Zhen, do you remember when we first met?" Tang Qiaolian suddenly asked.

Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"Why are you asking me such an obvious question, Qiaolian? We met during the time I was struggling to pay for my sister's hospital fee and you came to help me out. Ever since then, I have been grateful for your assistance." He replied sincerely, and used a warm gaze at her.

"Then why are you being polite with me now? Just choose the food you like while ignoring the price. Otherwise, I would think you are disrespecting me." Tang Qiaolian chuckled and teased.

Though inwardly, there was a tinge of sadness as she realized he had not regained his memories.

'Stupid, we met when we were kids already. You were my hero and shining star.' She sighed inwardly, glancing at the ignorant Lei Zhen who would occasionally gasp his mouth at the menu.

While watching Lei Zhen panicking every few seconds or so, Tang Qiaolian began to recall memories from 20 years ago during the banquet of a gathering of multi-international companies and business leaders.

The banquet was the largest event to ever be held as many business leaders that could affect the world's economies gathered around with their potential heirs and heiresses.

Back then, she was still around the age of 6 years old when she followed her father, Tang Lung, to the banquet.

"Xiao Lian, remember to behave well and act politely. There are many other kids here that could potentially become the next pillar of the world." Tang Lung smiled gently at his daughter, Tang Qiaolian.

"Our Tang's Group has just gotten lucky enough to be eligible for this banquet, so father would be quite busy forming many connections. You should also try to befriend other kids, okay?" He added.

Tang Qiaolian nodded her head and smiled cutely. "I will, father. I'm already an adult and can do a lot of things."

"Oh is that so? Then make sure to stroll around here only." Tang Lung laughed heartily at his naive 6 years old daughter.

Kids their age always believed they are an adult now, but the truth was that they haven't even seen the tip of the iceberg of how cruel the reality of the world was.

"Father just saw someone important, so I'm going to head off. Remember to not get lost." Tang Lung patted her head and instructed.

"Un, I won't get lost." Tang Qiaolian clenched her tiny fists and said solemnly.
