Chapter 15 Announcement Post

Lei Zhen was completely stunned as he never expected Robert Knightman would suddenly kill him.

His vision darkened as he plopped to the ground.

Ding!

[You have been killed by Robert Knightman]

[Revival Time: 1 hour]

"..."

He was speechless for a moment as he wondered what would happen to his items. Would he lose all those items that Robert Knightman gave him?

While he was thinking about the potential loss of those items, another system prompt appeared.

[Force Logout Duration: 3 minutes]

Lei Zhen sighed softly as he finally realized Magnolia was definitely not a game for an amateur. If he wants to earn a footing in the game, then he must first learn that common sense does not apply in Magnolia.

One moment you could be chatting happily with an NPC, and the next moment, the NPC might go ahead and kill you. This was different from the retro game type where NPC is just there as assistance for you.

When he came to think about it, Lei Zhen realized it should be about time for him to go to work in his part-time job. Thus, without waiting for the forced logout duration to end, he directly logged himself out.

His vision darkened for a split second before he returned to the real world. He slowly got off the MagnoPod and stretched his body for a few minutes.

Although there was no fatigue in the real world despite sitting in the MagnoPod for hours, he still felt like it was necessary to move his body slightly. Otherwise, the blood in his veins might not flow properly and would lead to health problems.

By the time Lei Zhen finished stretching his body, he checked the time on his phone and began to dress in some new clothes. It was autumn currently, so the weather was getting a bit chilly.

As he left his apartment, he could feel a cool breeze of wind brushing past his face.

"Though it's a bit chilly, autumn is still my favorite weather…" Lei Zhen smiled slightly as he glanced at the sky. Autumn was usually a weather that wasn't too cold nor too hot. It was right at that equilibrium of what he considered the best weather.

Without waiting further, he made his way to the train station.

Unlike the last time, Lei Zhen decided to take the bullet train that would directly take him to the Magnolia Convenience Store.

When he arrived at the store, Lei Zhen was greeted by his manager, Xu Gen.

"You've arrived on time," Xu Gen glanced at his watch and smiled at Lei Zhen.

Lei Zhen scratched his head slightly, "I wouldn't dare to be late on my first day of work, Manager Xu Gen."

"Haha, no need to be so tense, Lei Zhen," Xu Gen laughed heartily, patting his shoulder slightly. "Your work uniform is here and you can change it at the back. I'll leave the work to you, so don't disappoint me."

Lei Zhen nodded his head.

"Rest assured, I won't let you down for giving me this opportunity." He said in a rigid tone. This was his only source of income at the moment and he couldn't afford to lose his job.

Xu Gen also understood his predicament and didn't bother to say more. Either way, there are CCTV(closed-circuit television) cameras in the store and he had a keen eye on people.

From the looks of it, he could tell Lei Zhen was an honest person and trust him. If he dared to hire him, then he must trust him until he loses it.

Thus, Xu Gen left the store in Lei Zhen's hand. When Lei Zhen came out dressed in his uniform, he already found out no one else was left in the store except him.

Luckily there was a small chair near the counter for him to sit in. Otherwise, he would be standing the whole day. Since there were no customers at the moment, Lei Zhen took this time to browse through his phone.

Conveniently, there was wifi in the store and as an employee, he naturally had access to the 12G signal speed.

12G was the latest bandwidth and internet speed in the year 2089. It was a huge improvement compared to the year 2022 5G internet speed.

'Hmm, what is this latest announcement from Magnolia?' Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow when he noticed the company, Tundra, had announced something for the first time since the launch of Magnolia.

Ever since the launch of Magnolia, nobody had ever gained information regarding the company, Magnolia, much less the employees and the owner of it. To this day, it was still a mystery and the government was completely helpless as well.

Being so mysterious and creating such a game, it was naturally a given that there were already numerous comments regarding their first announcement post.

The announcement was about something called Main Scenario.

Hello to all Magnolia Players, it is our great honor to announce to everyone that a player had finally managed to trigger the Main Scenario quest. With that being said now, every action done by that specific player who will naturally have their identity confidential shall affect the entirety of Magnolia. That includes and is not limited to things such as the environment, the storyline, the monsters roaming in the lands, and its associated kingdom.

As Lei Zhen finished reading this announcement post, he was completely dumbfounded. The game had been out for 4 years yet the Main Scenario had never been touched until now.

Just how sadistic could this Magnolia game be to come up with such a tedious requirement? And by announcing this, everyone was now curious regarding which lucky player managed to trigger the Main Scenario event.

"No wonder why there are no customers here… everyone must be busy trying to investigate the mysterious player." Lei Zhen sighed.

Though this announcement seemed to be huge for all players, Lei Zhen was more focused on how to navigate his beginner adventure. Thus, he decided to browse through beginner guides for Magnolia to gain a better understanding of the game.

"Hopefully, I can find some information regarding Robert Knightman in the beginner guides. How could he ruthlessly kill me without even giving me a warning?"
