CH 39.1

Name:Married To A Savage Duke Author:
When Cherryl reached out her hand, the wolf sat quietly and licked it with his tongue.

The cute gesture didn’t fit its threatening size.

Cole alternated between his rag-looking trousers and the gentle wolf.

“He must like you, sister. He doesn’t play too hard and looks very polite.”

“He must be a smart animal. Isn’t he different depending on the person? He can’t tear my dress to pieces.”

The wolf rubbed his rough forehead hard against Cherryl’s hand and forearm and squeezed himself into her embrace as if he was unsatisfied.

When she watched the wolf rubbing against her wildly without even recognizing his own large size, a person suddenly came to mind.

He looked like the Grand Duke.

Cherryl smiled and stroked the wolf’s snout.

The wild animal closely resembled Cade’s hair, golden eyes, and desperate gestures to get closer were just like him.

The wind from the wolf’s excited tail made her hair messy.

“Are you all right, My Lady? Perhaps, the wolf won’t bite you?”

Lucy trembled at the sight of the wolf multiple times bigger than Cherryl.

It seemed unbelievable to see a huge wild animal acting like a pet dog.

‘I won’t bite. There was a misunderstanding when we first met, but now I’m obedient.’ The wolf barked loudly.

“This wolf will sacrifice his life to protect you in crisis.”

When Cherryl flashed her a certain smile, Lucy felt a bit awkward.

Her tone sounded very similar to the men here.

Suddenly, a loud noise resounded from the backyard entrance.

As everyone set their eyes on it, three wolf cubs, which Cherryl had named Ding, Dong, and Deng, were rushing out.

It was too ambiguous to call them wolf cubs now compared to when she first saw their small bodies and soft inner furs.

How quickly they had grown to the size of medium-sized dogs.

The wolf cubs, who were toddling about because they weren’t used to walking, could now run like crazy.

Their tongues lolled as they ran at full speed toward this side, using the wooden table nearby as a support.

The table shattered, causing the scattered pieces of wood to explode like firecrackers.

Lucy shrank in fear at the violent sight of the little demons.

“Oh my god!”

Lecter smiled as if to reassure her, “It’s alright, Lucy. They’re not here to attack us so they’re harmless. They look cute rather than scary up close.”

“That’s true. Even if you get bitten by a pointed tooth, it won’t hurt at all. It’ll only be cute.”

Axel made a harsh, unhelpful remark.

Lecter, who had calmed Lucy, glared at him. “Why are you like this? Do you want to say that to someone you are afraid of?”

“It’s fun to see you get riled up every time I tease her.”

Lucy gasped as she watched the wolf cubs getting closer.

“Do they bite?”

“They won’t bite you so don’t worry too much,” Lecter spoke affectionately.

Axel snatched a wolf cub as it approached Lucy, carried it, and stroked it in his arms.

“Look at him! He’s already heavy. You’ve grown a lot since we met. Didn’t you name them, sister?”

“That’s right. The wolf you’re holding is Ding, this is Dong, and the youngest is Deng.”

“Haha! That sounds cute.”

As Axel threw his head back and laughed, Cole licked his lips as if secretly memorizing their name.

As Cherryl crouched down and touched the wolf, Lucy also plucked up courage and fell to her knees.

The wolf cub, who was playing actively, seemed not as scary as what she had seen from afar.

“Touch this wolf, Lucy. He’s the youngest, so he’s the smallest and most gentle.”

Cherryl pointed at the grey-furred wolf.

Soon after, he licked Lucy’s hand and she carefully hugged the rolling baby.

His playfulness reminded her of a cute puppy and her fear seemed to fade gradually.

Impressed by the scene before him, Lecter gently settled a hand over his chest.

“Lucy, you really like wolves!”

Lucy tilted her chin with an awkward face.

“Well, it’s hard to say I like them. It’s my first time seeing a wolf, so I’m a little scared. I prefer dogs.”

“Wolves are still dogs. Wouldn’t it be fair to say that you love wolves too?”

“Does that make sense? Well… that’s possible.”

The ‘Balkans’ were blood relatives who inherited wolf blood.

Even though they appeared to be humans on the outside, they still find it difficult to get close to people who hated wolves.

For that reason, Lecter seemed to be quite moved to see Lucy adore the wolf cub.

Personally, it made him feel some type of way and it felt good.

“I have everything I need.”

Dumbfounded, Axel clicked his tongue upon seeing Lecter happy with Lucy’s trivial contact with the wolf cub.

The male wolf approached Cherryl again while observing his litter.

After rubbing his head against her shoulder, he looked up with his loyal amber eyes.

The wolf, who stretched his bright red tongue while flapping his neck and cheeks, really looked just like Cade.

Cherryl held the huge wolf in her arms.
