Chapter 58 New Job

A slight smile appeared on Harry's face as he stared at his figure through the mirror hung on the wall in his room. His upper body was bare as he had already taken off his shirt.

His overall appearance had improved greatly from before. He had finally gotten a nice haircut and his dark brown hair curled beautifully to the side.

His jaw had also become even more chiselled and his face was now more defined.

The drastic improvement in his appearance was mainly due to his charm stat which had doubled from what it was twenty-eight days ago(when he absorbed the peak stage four beast core).

His stats which were now quite high also contributed to it, his physique improved with each rise in his stats.

Whenever he walked, either on the streets or in the academy, different heads always turned towards him--Most especially in the academy.

Due to his high perception, his ears would often catch different comments from females regarding his handsomeness and looks.

Though Harry often didn't like the comments as he found some of them weird and embarrassing, he couldn't stop his ears from hearing them anyway; it wasn't like he could close his ears.

It wasn't just his face that had improved but also his body. His height had increased greatly and he now stood at 171cm.

His body had also filled out nicely, he no longer had that scrawny and weak body of the past. He had gained some muscles around his arms and his chest and some other parts of his body.

A low sigh left his lips as he slowly walked back before slumping on the bed behind him.

Harry squinted his eyes slightly as he stared at the system tab in front of him.

He had already completed all his academy activities and was currently resting in his bedroom.

'Host stats.' Harry mumbled inwardly.

Immediately he said those words, a set of tabs and characters appeared in front of him.

For the last few weeks he had been completing his daily quests diligently and his stats and EXP(level) had unexpectedly improved. He was even close to levelling up to level fourteen.

A day after he absorbed the peak stage four beast core, his daily quests difficulty suddenly doubled.

Harry's guess was that the system increased the difficulty to match or rather, balance it with his stats.

Since his stats had suddenly gotten so high, the daily quest difficulty also had to increase to make it more of a challenge. However, harry didn't feel bad about this since the EXP given to him also increased.

That wasn't the only thing that changed after his evolution though. Before his evolution, one point was added to all his stats with each level up.

However, the last time he levelled up, two stat points were added to all his stats, which meant with each level up, two stat points would get added to all his stats.

A complicated expression appeared on Harry's face as he closed the system tab and then exhaled.

Ever since he had moved from his parents house, he had always felt irritated whenever he saw the word "Morton" in his stats.

Though, he was already on his own and no longer depended on his parents or any other person, the system still registered his name as "Harry Morton".

The name made him feel like he was still attached and related to that worthless family.

The fact that they never bothered about his whereabouts even after he moved out from his father house only made them more worthless.

Though Harry wasn't expecting them to miss him or anything, he still expected either his father or his mother to try finding him. After all, he simply vanished from their house without informing them or anything.

From the look of things, it seemed Trent had noticed his presence at the academy and told him parents that they didn't need to worry.

The system still wrote his name as "Harry Morton" probably because he hadn't exactly cut off all ties related to his family yet.

Although he no longer lived with or depended on them, he was still their son legally.

Harry had already started taking the processes to disown his parents and legally change his name. However, it turned out to be a lot stressful than he thought and would take at least twenty days or even a month.

Harry shook his head slightly and then cleared every useless thoughts from his head. 'I should eat first, then prepare for work.' He mumbled inwardly.

Most of his time during the last few weeks were spent on 'training' in the academy and channeling his energy, however, he still didn't give up on his plan to get a job.

The money he got from the duel with Justin only remained about 230,000C. Almost half of it had been spent on clothes, food and other accessories.

If he kept squandering the money, he would go broke within three to four months and that wouldn't be good for him.

A week ago, he got a part-time job in a nearby restaurant. Ironically, it was the same restaurant he visited when he first moved into this apartment.

Though the job wasn't that notable as he was only working as a waiter there, Harry still enjoyed every moment of it.

He learned how to interact better with people and he was no longer stiff or awkward when having conversations with strangers.

Besides, the pay wasn't bad, the salary was 85000C per month. Harry was actually surprised when he heard he could actually make that much from a simple waiter job.

Harry wasn't taking care of anybody other than himself so that amount of money was enough to sustain him. Besides, he didn't have much expenses.

He had already been paid 90000C in advance for this month, he had also told the restaurant manager that he only had interest to work there for about five to six months.

He started work at 5:00pm and then worked for three hours before closing at 8:00pm. The academy closed between 3:30pm to 4:00pm so the job wasn't giving him and inconvenience.

The main reason the restaurant employed was his looks and handsomeness, employing him would naturally attract more customers(mainly female ones).
