Chapter 9 Stat Points And Optional Quest

A huge grin spread across his face as he saw the rewards and also the bonus rewards given to him.

Even though the only difference in his stats was the added forty EXP and extra ten stats points , it still made Harry very happy. He noticed he only needed ten more EXP to progress to the next level.

Seeing how the EXP bar rose, inching closer to the end of level one gave him a sense of accomplishment.

He also received one skill point from the bonus reward.

He already knew the use of skill points as it was written under 'skills and abilities'. The only thing he needed to do now was allocate his stat points and increase his pitiful stats.

"So how do I distribute the stat points," Harry muttered to himself. "Putting all the stat points into one category would cause a huge increase… but that wouldn't be a good idea. Even distribution would be the best choice."

"System add two stat points to strength," Harry said after finally deciding on how to distribute the stat points.

"Add two to agility also," Harry said. He felt that having enough speed is also as important as having enough strength, so he decided to add equal stat points to both attributes.

Harry noticed that immediately after he added the stat points, a warm and prickling feeling spread around his body. He could feel his body got lighter and his muscles, slightly thicker, although the difference was minuscule.

To him this meant his strength and agility truly increased, even if it was only a little Increase, it still didn't stop the smile that appeared on his face.

He slowly went back to the two-seater sofa, he bent slightly and tried lifting it once more. As he slowly lifted the chair, he noticed the weight of the chair seemed a little lighter. It wasn't that the chair lost weight, it was the one that simply got stronger.

He carefully dropped the chair and arranged it the same way he met it. He couldn't leave any traces of the presence in the living room.

After arranging the living room, he went back to his own room. He sat down on the cold floor of his room, with his back placed on the wall, he continued his stat allocation.

"Add one point to stamina", Harry said. Since his stamina stat was already slightly higher than his other stats, he didn't find any need to add two stat points to it.

Harry felt that same warm and prickling feeling spread around his body again, except this time he wasn't surprised by it. He even found it refreshing.

"Five stat points… gone." Harry muttered.

"Add two points to perception," Harry said.

"Just three points remaining now," Harry muttered. He felt a little bit weird seeing how fast his ten stat points had dwindled down to three.

"Add two points to Endurance and one point to intelligence", Harry said to the system.

He ignored the last attribute which was the charm attribute, he felt that he only needed it to improve his facial appearance. He had never cared about how he looked to others and he wouldn't start doing that now, all he wanted and ever wanted was to get stronger—especially now that he had the means to do so.

Though his appearance couldn't be called ugly, it couldn't be called very handsome either, he was average in all ramifications.

"At least my stats are… a little better." Harry muttered in joy.

He was already sure about the existence of the system but everything still felt surreal to him. The fact that he was a Manaless mage and he now had an affinity, a rare one at that after living for about five years with one.

The fact that he could have all affinities and also become the most powerful person in the universe, getting all these things in one day all seemed astounding to him.

"This system is just… awesome… It keeps surprising me." Harry muttered with a slight smile on his face.

He went to the living room to check the time through the wall clock, A sigh left his lips as he realized the time was already 8:45am, that only meant one thing—his perfect attendance would be ruined today.

"So I ended up being late to the academy… Tsk." He muttered. He knew trekking to the academy alone would take about twenty minutes, due to the distance between the academy and his house. Although he said this, the expression on his face didn't really match his words, a huge grin was plastered on his face and his eyes were also filled with glee.

The punishment for Late-coming in the academy wasn't very strict—at least for normal students—his attendance would only drop.

Although that would slightly affect his overall result that term, he wasn't really bothered, There was no way he would trade the time to get stronger with the system for going to an academy that doesn't even recognize him.

He hurriedly took his bath as he got ready to go to the academy. Although he was late, he didn't find the idea of staying at home pleasant most especially since his parents could get home anytime.

As he put on his uniform, he suddenly remembered the beast core given to him as compensation by the AMO. He remembered placing it in the pocket of his academy uniform.

He dipped his hand into his academy uniform's pocket and brought out the beast core. A strange expression flashed through his eyes as he observed the small, shiny brown stone.

Harry's eyelids trembled slightly as he looked at the optional quest. He even ignored the system's evaluation that was at the bottom of the quest as his eyes shone at the juicy rewards. "15000 EXP… 40 stat points… that's h-huge." Harry said in shock.
