Chapter 84 Fighting The Ghost King

"What the hell? Why did that kid escape?" Paul looked at the slime with confusion as he didn't understand Alex's reasons for escaping when he was obviously having an edge here and he had already betrayed the White Knights.

"I think it was his Spirit who told him to escape," Agmarath spoke while having a serious expression on his face.

"Spirit?" Paul looked at him with confusion.

"That kid has made Spirit Contract with Two Spirits. And unlike you, he didn't seem to have any previous spirit to sacrifice." Agmarath explained.

Paul was genuinely surprised when he heard that. He thought Alex's healing powers were quite weird but he didn't sense a single ounce of spirit energy from Alex.

Of course, it's also because he never asked his spirits to sense it. So, he always thought that his parents experimented with their own son and mutated him.

Knowing his parent's background, he believed this more.

Joey was also surprised. He didn't expect Alex to awaken the Spirit, not one but rather two.

"Wahahaha! I finally understand. He used you." Agmarath bursts into laughter as he pointed his finger at Joey.

"Shut up, bastard!" Joey didn't understand his meaning but just getting laughed at made him angry. His spirit energy condensed at his fist and he thrusts his arm forward. He aimed straight at Agmarath but Erran came before him and blocked him.

"You again?" Joey was annoyed by Erran. Every time he attacks someone, Erran keeps blocking him. And, he can't push Erran back as well. His scorpion legs made him unmovable.

"What does that mean?" Paul ignored Joey and asked Agmarath. He was curious as well.

"Hehe! That boy made the contract with the Spirit of Cailee Family. They are a bunch of punching bags. They grow strong with physical damage and torture. If you don't use spirit energy, their potential will keep growing."

"The highest potential unlocked in that family is the fifth skill. But, during Slime's research inside his stomach, he found the potential of that family was beyond five skills. I am pretty sure the spirit asked that boy to bear the torture in order to awaken the five skills."

"That means, he wasn't torturing him but rather helping him to get stronger. Hehe! How foolish of you? If you had killed him at the beginning, it would be nothing."

"But, you just continued to torture him and give him both talent and reasons to strike back. He might be weak at this moment but his strength will grow exponentially along the way."

"Hahahaha! I can barely hold my laughter. Hahaha!" Agmarath explained while giggling from time to time. He continued to make fun of Joey. He wanted to see the regret on his face.

And, just as he expected, Joey's eyes fumed with anger and regret. His spirit energy exploded though.

Whoosh! Bang!

When his spirit energy exploded, the ground beneath Erran broke and he flew out until he collided against the wall and fell to the ground.

"How dare he? How dare you? I'll kill you all."

Joey screamed with anger bursting out of his eyes. At this moment, his entire aura was red, fuming with blood thirst and killing intent.

"Oh! Isn't that the berserker spirit? I didn't expect you to make the contract with such a reckless spirit." Agmarath was quite impressed by the overwhelming power of Joey but he still maintained his cool and calm attitude.

"Die!" Joey could see nothing but a mocking attitude from Agmarath. With the berserker spirit, his senses were quite dull. He charged straight toward Agmarath with all of his power. This time his speed was almost faster than the speed of sound.

But, just when he reached near Agmarath, another fist passed by Agmarath, heading straight towards Joey. It was none other than Erran. His fist once again clashed against Joey.

Bang!

The power of collision released the shockwaves that started destroying the prison. Although Erran managed to block him, he was getting pushed back this time. Even his legs weren't strong enough to stay against the power that Joey currently possessed.

"You are strong. That's why you have to die here." Suddenly, a chilling sound rang in Joey's ears. As he turned around, he noticed long nails heading straight towards his neck. It was not just fast but the sharpness of the nail was enough to pierce his neck.

Even so, Joey didn't move back. He just poured even more force into his fist and slammed Erran away.

Whoosh! Ding!

Suddenly, a figure dashed towards Agmarath and slammed a sword on those nails. The impact caught Agmarath to missing the target while Joey retreated a few steps.

"Oh! Who might you be?" Agmarath looked at the girl standing in front of him with curious eyes and asked.

"Becky! She is also a commander rank white knight. It seemed like reinforcements are coming this way." Paul introduced her to Agmarath while looking at the surroundings. At this moment, prisoners had already left the broken prison.

The previous impact of their collision destroyed the prison itself.

"It seems you have decided to betray us, Paul." Becky stared straight into Paul's eyes and spoke. She was nearly five feet five inches tall. Her body was also slender. She had an extremely cute face with her big eyes. She was wearing a yellow jacket and mini jeans.

"Isn't it obvious, Becky? This world is filled with polluted trashes. And, as a janitor appointed by someone who I admire, it is my job to clean up. Why don't you join us?"

"With your talent, you deserve the stage higher than you currently have and you don't like dirty things as well. Isn't this the best opportunity to clean up?" Paul smiled at her kindly and answered.

"Humph! I am not going to join some maniac like you. So, why don't you stop all of this and surrender? I might be able to help you escape from your punishment because of all this potential you possess." Looking at the seven spirits standing next to Paul, she couldn't help but speak with a little bit of envy.

Seven Spirit wasn't something that anyone can make a contract. Even Emperor can't do it. But, Paul was able to form such a contract despite being a commander.

"Sorry sweetie, he can't join you. So, why don't you close your fu*king mouth and die?" Suddenly, a figure walked toward Becky. She was none other than Eggalin. She formed blazing flames on her hands and threw them toward Becky.

The flame took the shape of an arrow as it increased its speed in the middle. Becky pumped out her spirit energy and condensed it on her sword. Before the arrow could reach her, she raised her sword and slashed down.

Whoosh! Boom! Boom!

Her sword split the arrow in half and two parts of the arrow passed by her. It reaches near the crumbled wall and exploded. The small pieces of the wall flew everywhere by the impact while raising Becky's hair with a high-speed wind. She looked badass at this moment.

"Now, now Eggalin. We don't have time here. It seems like reinforcements are coming soon. We should leave." Understanding the rage flowing through Eggalin's veins and the reason behind it, Paul walked behind her and patted her head, pulling her into his embrace, and turned around.

"You aren't going anywhere, you bastard!" Joey screamed as he jumped for an attack once again. But at this moment, Becky spoke.

"Joey, stop this instant!"

Her voice was filled with rage and anger. Joey was shocked upon hearing her voice. So, he stopped and stared at her, waiting for an explanation.

"You would fight against us, wouldn't you?" Becky turned her head at the old man and asked.

"Although I hate his idea and we would be enemies in the future, I hate White Knights even more. So, you know my answer." Saying so, the old man also turned around and left. He wanted to rescue Alex but at this moment, Alex had already left. So, he had no reason to stick around.

Paul's spirits also left alongside Paul. They didn't enter his body. They weren't Pure Spirit. Because of certain circumstances, each of them possessed the bloodline, powers, or even inheritance of other races. And, thus, they don't need to comply with Spirit's rules.

"Are we just letting them leave?" Joey clenched his fist and asked.

Becky stared at Paul for a moment. Paul, she knew before seemed utterly different than the current Paul.

'He never embraced a woman in his life. So why now? Why that ugly bitch?'

Becky clenched her fist. She had a crush on Paul for nearly five years. But, because Paul never gets close to women, she never got a chance to confess. And, being a member of White Knights, it was even harder to confess her personal feeling.

She took a deep breath and spoke "Seven Spirits! All of them have Commander Rank Strength alongside Paul. And, that old man also has the strength of a Commander. Even if we survive, we can't keep them. Let's leave!"
