276 [Bonus chapter] Mild Confession

CHAPTER 276

She had a great way of making him feel sad, didn’t she?

Without uttering any more words, he held on to her hand and spun her around so she could face him.

Quickly he caught sight of her blush and his eyes widened a fraction but that did not matter to him anymore. All he thought about was the fact that he could make her that way and now he needed to make her not push him away again.

And that was when he did what she least expected. He held her face at both sides and kissed her.

Her eyes remained open all through the kiss. This was so not going the way she wanted.

Luckily for her, he did not push the kiss any more than ten seconds before moving away to stare at her red face.

“Asia.”

“Stop it,” she did not wish for it to continue. At least not outside.

“I can’t,” his cool voice resounded in her ears but he was making it hard for her.

Gosh was she a mess right now for a guy.

“No.”

“Please. Do not do this.”

“Why? I have already seen your face. What is there to be shy about? I like it. I love the fact that you would blush because of me.”

“Ara...”

“Baby. I really do like you, Asia. No scratch that, I love you.”

“Thanks, but... I feel like umm,” she could not even form her words straight. It was all a muffled jumbled up mess in her mind anyway.

“Stop talking and trying to understand things, Asia. Let your heart’s will flow. Allow it to love.”

“I want to do so but you said... we should become friends first.”

“Yes, I said that but I do not think I can handle being friends with you.”

“Why?”

“Because, I love you, Asia.”

“Aramis.”

“Asia.” He pressed their bodies close together. “Look at me. I know it is sudden but I have known you for quite some time and although I did search you out, you became hard to find until I could trace you to the Frost family and found out you all were killed.”

Her brows furrowed deeply at that little bit of information, “You did?”

He nodded his head slightly, “Ever since that operation you and Jade did at Sun Scar city.”

“You were there?” she looked keenly into his eyes as though looking for ways to get the truth out of him and suddenly she stepped back.

His heartbeat increased by another 50% by that action. He covered the gap quickly and held her strong. “Asia.”

“You were there. Are you one of them?” Her eyes twitched at that thought.

And instantly, several other thoughts came to mind. What if it happened that way? What if he was doing a double-sided job?

‘No, wait! That cannot be. If he was there and was a double-sided spy, then he was doing so for Xander. He is forever loyal to his Dragon Lord.’ Asia finalized in her mind.

“Asia, wait. Are you scared of me now?”

‘No.”

“Fine, it may not seem plausible and stuff but I want you to know that I was there for a deal with them. Either their boss stopped his operation or I would be forced to kill him. However, before got there, turns out you and Jade beat me to it.”

“I see.”

“I was the stranger you passed when you two were running. I saw the footage after you two left. Have you ever wondered why no one came after the Frost family concerning the incident?”

She seemed to contemplate her answer carefully before speaking. “Umm because you...” her eyes widened as the idea popped up in her mind. “You deleted it.”

“Exactly. You failed to because you were worried about Jade and getting her out of danger. Which surprises me till today.”

“And what would that be?”

By now she was completely oblivious to the fact that her blush had started dying down since she left the embarrassing topic of her blush and focused on her field where she was most confident.

“That the Mafia Lord of Moon Crest’s Frost Family clan has never killed.”

She shook her head to hide her initial shock. “No.” she smiled cutely. “What are you saying?”

“No. I was stupid to ask. She hasn’t. I can tell from one glance.”

“So? It doesn’t mean she is one to be messed with.”

“What was the Deadly Iceberg doing teaching her such? He dies and leaves his daughter to run the Mafia world for him and continue the family’s business while leaving her with no killing intent?”

“Hey, the way you say it.”

“No, Asia. She has tough enemies and not just Anders.”

“What do you mean?” Asia seemed confused. In the whole of Moon Crest, only the Anders was their annoying bone to their neck. None other family tried.

“You see, just because Anders backstabbed them and plotted did not mean others wouldn’t. So many families envy the position as Moon Crest’s number one leading Mafia family and in turn the Mafia Lord Position there.”

“Okay.”

“The only problem was, only Ander family was brave enough to act and they did well in plotting their attack by putting the mighty Warner family against the Frost. So she cannot rule like that.”

“She can.”

‘She can but there would come a time when she would need to do that. Her life is at stake here. She is a ticking time bomb. She must be fierce, ruthless to her enemies who would show her no mercy and be kind and loving to those who would stand by her.”

“She has me to do that killing for her. Mr Frost would never want her to taint her hands.”

“In this line of business, whether or not you do the deed, you are responsible for giving the order. Take Xander for example. He gave the order to have her family annihilated but he never did one form of it. Anders was stupid enough to do it himself.”

“Well...”

“You know I speak the truth. This is war. She faces battle, threats, enemies, friends, woes, wolves in sheep clothing daily. She needs to be prepared.”

‘She would be when the time is right. For now, allow her to grow and live the normal life her father wished for her to have.”

He closed his eyes, let out a soft sigh. Asia just would not understand. They have been around long enough and they have seen things she had not.

What was worse were the ways of men. Man’s greed knew no bounds and Jade was an innocent soft soul.

“Fine. Anyways, she has Xander. If she lets go of her anger and stubbornness, or maybe leave a touch of her stubbornness and tiger attitude, and marry Xander, then she would not have to worry. He would protect her with his life.”

“That is how the mate bond works?”

“Yes. He is bound to her for life.”

Asia too released a soft sigh. Speaking about all these threw her mind back that they had a war to prepare for. “I should probably go and see ho she is doing after she snuck out.”

“So you knew and you did not warn her?”

“Nope.”

“I see. Let me guess, you were her spy to throw us off guard in our search for her, right?” Asia did not say anything but the smile on her face gave her away. “Nice but naughty.”
