265 Meeting 1: Jealous Xander.

CHAPTER 256

Several thoughts ran through his mind the second his eyes landed on her. Thoughts of their time together, thoughts of the anger she bore for him, thoughts of how her lips taste, her body.

His mind was soon in a haze with everything happening that he forgot himself for a minute.

“Xander?” Aramis whispered as he poked at his arms stylishly.

Others may have found it hard to notice what the Dragon Lord was doing especially since he was fond of blocking them out from his thoughts and mind, so someone like Astoria would be left in the dark at this point but not him.

He may be able to block people out from his thoughts about out he could not hide or mask the expressions on his face from someone like Aramis.

One look at him and Aramis had a clear understanding of what he was thinking about. One word, four letters.

Jade.

.....

“Huh?” Reluctantly, he peeled his gaze off her and turned to his side. Aramaic shook his head at him before speaking through their mind link.

“Not now, Xander. Focus.”

“I-I...” He knew it was useless to lie to Aramaic so he needed his head in understanding. “Thanks.”

Facing them once again, he cleared his throat and smiled. “Sorry for that little break, guys.”

“No worries. So what’s up with your recent trip to the city?” Sky asked.

“There has been some calls here and there and the police asking and pocknosing. So I needed to ensure things were clear first.”

“So are they clear now?” He did not want to look at his side, where Jade sat down.

He knew she was the one that spoke. How could he not? He could never forget her lovely voice but that wasn’t the problem now.

A part of him was scared that once she saw her, he would be too distracted for his good. For some unknown reason, the mate bond had kicked in again, rendering him speechless and frustrated.

To sum it up, he was mad at her. Mad that he opened up to her, literally begged her and yet she discarded him like he did not matter.

And even though he knew that things were not as they seemed, it did not change the fact that he was hurt.

“To some extent but who knows what the sly fox would come up with,” Xander responded without looking at her.

“I see.” She knew he was avoiding eye contact with her. This singular act of his had made her smile a bit but she masked it up and relaxed against her chair.

“How are we not sure he was a fox in his past life?” Jay snickered, crossing his arms in front of his chest.

“Well we wouldn’t know now, would we? It is his past. Rather than bothering our heads with his past while not finish his present self and future all together.”

Everyone had their gaze turn to face Minerva. They knew she was a war dragon but seriously, the way she hitched for a fight was unbecoming and it was why she felt she was fitted to be Xander’s mate.

“Calm down, Nerva. The fight you crave, you will get it when the time comes. Right now we do not know just how far his links and connections have gotten. For all we know, he may have made server also research on us and how to fight us. If what I found out in the day I gave the go-ahead to kill the Frost family, then he is dangerous.”

Like well-controlled minions, all of them averted their gaze from him to look at Jade.

“Knock it off guys before I forget my calm and kill him right in front of you guys,” Jade threatened with her eyes closed.

“My love that cannot happen, while we are here,” Aramis reminded her.

POW!

Together they turned their head from Aramis to the assaulter, Xander with their wide eyes. Although they expected him to react but never in that way, especially with Jade there.

“Ouch, what did I do?” Aramis half yelled while shooting g angry looks at Xander.

If looks could kill, then Aramis would have been dead by now. The sight he saw made him cower in fear as a dark glint flashed before Xander’s terrifying eyes.

Gulp!

“I only told her the truth. We are sworn to protect you, in life as death,” Aramis explained but Xander was still not appeased. “Oh come on. I wasn’t going to kill her,” he added.

“No silly. Our Dragon Lord smacked you on the back of your head because you called his mate, your love,” Astoria explained. She had her eyes closed with her arms folded underneath her blossom.

Her brother’s powers may be great with sight but hearing, pfft... She won.

He had said those words out by mistake and did not realise it. “What were you thinking? Did you think she was Asia?” Astoria asked again.

At that moment Asia lowered her head, trying her best to hide her blush. If she had not known better, she would have thought Aramis was thinking about Jade this whole time but she knew the one in his heart wasn’t her nor Jade but Asteria.

Quickly, he turned his head in Asia’s direction and smiled sheepishly at her. “Do not mind her, Asia. You know only you are on my mind, hehe.”

‘I wish it was so too, Aramis. I wish I was the only one but you lie.’ Asia voiced out in her head.

Trying to clear the air since someone was still mad, she spoke up, “However, I think the one you should be apologizing to is not me but him.” She pointed at Xander for emphasis.

He gulped loud. He did not need anyone to tell him, Xander was still giving him the death glare.

“Hey, buddy.”

“A.R.A.M.I.S!”

“I am sorry. I never meant it and you know. I dare not think of your mate. It was just a normal term.”

“Shut it. Only I am permitted to call her that.”

“No. Anyone can,” Jade suddenly added.
