Chapter 278 [Bonus chapter] Mystery (Part-1)

Seeing that there was no escape, Roy’s eyes turned resolute, and he activated his soul spell. Voss’s first curse could immobilize his physical body but not stop him from activating his skills, abilities, and the special function of his physique or stop his heart from beating, not that he wanted. Roy has become his new obsession after the Female Siren. Voss labeled him as his new hope to escape the Ashen Land.

Roy’s subspace opened up, and he pulled out all his runic weapons, fully intending to go against Voss. He wasn’t confident about it, but because of his lord-rank physique, he believed that he would be able to give him a headache.

“Let’s fight, you sick fuck!”

Using the world’s energy, he slowed down his fall and grabbed his weapons with the intention to whoop Voss’s ass.

Voss was surprised to see him move so freely when two of his curses were acting on him, but he didn’t let that get to him and released a part of his soul towards Roy.

Alarms buzzed in Roy’s ears.

If that entered him, he would be corrupted!

That didn’t happen as the Righteous Knight suddenly made his appearance, suppressing a God and saving a mortal.

Shadow Piercer suddenly lit up, releasing a wave of blue made of countless specks of soul, which went past Roy and transformed into the Righteous Knight behind him. With a wave of his hand, he destroyed Voss’s avatar’s split soul and saved Roy.

“You are too young to fight a God.” The righteous Knight said to Roy. “Forget about it.”

He grabbed him by the wings and forced him to come to a halt against the desire of an “Evil God.”

This shocked Voss to a standstill, to the point where he felt the ground slipping from his feet. He couldn’t get his mind around it and forgot to even attack them. Just how in God’s name did he clear Roy from his curses?! And how powerful must he be to be able to do that?

“Righteous knight?” Roy was startled to see him and amazed at how strong he truly was. “… But I didn’t call for you.”

“You didn’t.” The righteous knight’s expression couldn’t be seen, but Roy could tell that he was looking at him with a warm gaze and that there was a gentle smile behind that helmet. “But who said I can’t come to help you out of my own free will?”

“I didn’t know.” Roy looked at him in shock, which turned to absolute shock. “Wait, you can talk?”

The Righteous knight gave him a head nod. “Yes, I can.”

“Why didn’t you-“

“This isn’t a good time to talk. Someone can’t wait to get even with us. Let me deal with him first.”

The two looked downwards and saw that Voss was up to no good again.

The sudden appearance of the Knight didn’t only surprise Roy but also Voss.

“This guy… why does he seems familiar as if I have seen him somewhere, and how did he stop my curse from acting on that mortal?”

Voss looked at his hand. The black hole was still there. This could only mean that the newcomer was strong enough to be equal to this avatar of his, which was 10% of his true powers.

“Whatever! Let’s see if he can handle this.”

Voss amplified its power, and it grew bigger, releasing a suction force so strong that the shattered pieces of stones on the ground, as well as the Dragon’s Pond in the air, flew towards it.

Roy would have also been dragged towards it if not for the Righteousness Knight’s holding on to him.

“How can you be unaffected by it? How are you defying me?!” Voss lost his cool, seeing that only was the Righteous Knight unaffected by his curse, but he was also helping Roy overcome it like child’s play.

“How?” Standing in mid-air with his cloak fluttering behind him, the Righteous Knight looked down upon him like an absolute chad and taunted him, saying, “You are no match for me. That’s why your curse can’t affect me and whoever I help.”

“Bullshit!”

At the speed of thunder, Voss flew towards them, his hands curling into fists that closed in on them from each side.

If this hit landed, a pancake would be made out of them, no doubt.

“You don’t seem to understand. If I am the sky, then you… you are just an ant on the ground.”

While looking down on Voss, the Righteous knight stomped in mid-air, and a pressure so intense pressed down on Voss that he was blasted downwards ten times faster than he flew towards them.

Bam!

Roy couldn’t even see his figure, only noticing that

Voss was buried six feet under the ground like a literal ant.

His eyes widened to the size of saucers.

A self-proclaimed Evil God was almost stomped to death!

“A God? If you had seen one, you would have never dared to compare yourself to it. A pathetic being like you is a thousand steps away from becoming a True Being. How can you dream of being a God.” The Righteous Knight held Voss in utter disdain and turned to Roy.

“You need to leave now.”

“Uh… why? Don’t you have the upper hand against him?”

“No, I am barely holding on.” Suddenly, his body started to disappear. One of his legs vanished, and so did his neck. Roy saw that and felt bad. “You see, I am just a reflection of my former self. Exhibiting such might is quite exhausting. You might not be able to call me in the future for a long time.”

“Come with me!” Roy grabbed him and flew towards the thinning portal.

The Righteous one broke free from him immediately, saying to him gently like a chivalrous Knight, “I will hold him back, teach him a lesson, and don’t you feel guilty about leaving me behind. I won’t die unless the sword shatters.
