Ninam’s Mana Meditation Technique granted a ten-time increase in mana recovery rate.

It might not seem much at first glance, but it was a game changer.

You must know that in a battle between mages of similar mental capacity, equal damage output, defensive ability, and mana capacity, the one who comes out on top is the one with a better MP regeneration.

Basically, learning it would give Roy an upper hand against mages of his level that haven’t learned a technique as impressive as this.

『Ding! Would you like to learn Ninam’s Mana Meditation Technique?』

“Yes!”

Just a moment after he voiced his agreement, a wave of foreign information made up of breathing patterns rushed into his mind. He accepted it openly.

『Ding! Congratulation. You’ve learned Ninam’s Mana Meditation Technique!』

Better than that was Ninam’s True Magic.

What makes it special is that it gives you a ridiculous amount of control over mana itself, allowing you to use Mana as a weapon and shield.

With his eyes still on the screen showing its description, he heard a system’s notification ringing in his ears.

『Ding! Would you like to learn Ninam’s True Magic?』

Roy didn’t immediately say yes.

A thoughtful look appeared on his face.

‘If I learn this, I won’t be able to learn any other level 0 spells. A trainee can create up to 9 magic spell models in their sea of magic. But I would only be able to create one until I reach the second stage of magic. That’s a problem, considering I’ve planned to be a mage that can use magics of different types, not a simple card thrower. But… to have total control over mana is too elusive. No one in the novel had it. It might very well be a part of Ninam’s True inheritance. Ninam’s was a half-elven, a greater existence than humans. He’s the mage that stopped the advancement of a king from the Uncharted land and created the seven true songs. I might not regret giving up the norms for his technique.’

Roy took some minutes to think it through.

And… in the end, he decided not to follow the magic of the path he had planned for himself before coming across it.

『Ding! Congratulation. You’ve learned Ninam’s True Magic!』

Roy’s eyes dulled. Not only did the image of the True Magic spell model become a part of his memory, but he also got a better understanding of it.

True magic… it was far more wonderful than the description he had received from the system!

Learning it wasn’t a mistake!

It was the best choice he had ever made!

Roy sat down and closed his eyes, immediately trying to create it in his sea of magic.

Under his control, the streams of mana there moved, taking the shape of a complex circle with hundreds of intricate lines.

But this was quite different than the image in his mind.

It was missing a thousand lines, but Roy was finding it so hard to etch them in the incomplete spell model that sweat oozed out of his forehead, sliding down to the tip of his nose.

Right then, he was given a good news by his golden finger!

『Ding! You can get the True Magic Spell Model created in your sea of magic. It will cost you one skill point. Would you like to get it created?』

『Yes』/『No』

Looking at the screen, he was smiling excitedly. “So… I can use skill points in this way too. Amazing!”

Roy immediately voiced out his agreement.

『-1 SP』

The stale Mana in his Magic Sea surged up, transforming into thousands of lines.

They all moved towards the incomplete Magic Spell Model hovering in the center of this place, adding the last remaining lines into it in order to complete it.

Furthermore, Roy didn’t need to split a part of his focus to keep it in shape until it stabilized as it crystallized immediately.

『Ding! Congratulations! The True Magic Spell Model has formed in your Magic Sea!』

『You can now use Ninam’s True Magic!』

Roy immediately tried it out.

Pushing the mana in his sea of magic into the spell model, he activated it. Immediately, he realized that he could push mana out of his body from any spot, be it his feet or his palm. Wisps of pale blue gushed out of the tip of his finger. Now, although this Mana was out of his body and he wasn’t using Ninam’s Mana Meditation Technique, he could still “feel” that he had a “connection” with it, that he could make it move exactly as he liked.

The multiple wisps intertwined into one form, a huge ball.

Roy further compressed it into the size of a pea.

A moment later, reflected in his gaze was the product of his desire, a Magic Bullet.

Roy flung his finger forward.

“Whoosh!”

It shot out at the speed of a bullet, whizzing through the air.

It moved across the room so fast that he didn’t quite catch that it drilled a hole in the opposite wall before smoke came out of the hole.

This was just one aspect of this technique.

With this spell model, he might be able to use fire magic by applying physics!

Friction generates heat. That was basic knowledge in the modern world.

Friction between different surfaces produces different results.

For example, when you slide a match stick on a matches box, the inflammable stuff on it gets ignited by friction.

But… what would friction between two bodies of mana create?!

That was the real question!

Roy brought two wisps of mana above his palm and started sliding them against each other.

The first time nothing happened.

The second time he was also met with disappointment.

Maybe he was overthinking too much. Maybe friction between Mana wouldn’t create fire!

“Crackle!”

Right then, when he was busy doubting himself, they slid against each other a third time; a fire was created!

It was the size of a finger, only good for lighting candles and oil lamps.

But seeing it was enough to prove to Roy that he wasn’t stepping on the wrong path.

“Ninam… you’re the greatest genius of your era for creating this magic spell model. I’ll honor your legacy and advance the path of magic you’ve created using what I’ve learned back on Earth.” Roy knew the potential of True Magic was greater than just Magic.

He had created a small fire by sliding only two entities of mana. At a time, however, he could push out twenty wisps of them before his sea of magic became empty. How big a fire would be created if he used slid twenty wisps?!

Just thinking about what would be created, Roy’s eyes widened in pleasant surprise.

He would be able to use the first-level Fireball spell that only mages that have awakened a Fire Elemental Book and have an affinity with the element of fire can manifest!!!!

Roy’s fist shot up in the air as he exclaimed, “True Magic is broken!”
