Chapter 379 The Brewing Chaos

One month later:

POV Vesuvius:

The small pieces of stone drifted and circled around the dragon, swarming around him like a flock of birds. They all orbited around the towering, black form of the dragon as if he was a star in the centre of a star system.

Right before his eyes, two of them collided, their collisions sending ripples and stone fragments through time. They connected and formed a bigger boulder.

Vesuvius felt like watching a creation of a star system, just on a much smaller scale. A trickle of the earth-elemental energy nourished the dragon.

'I don't need the system to learn time magic.' The longer the dragon observed the time and the stone floating around him, the more he was sure the time acted similarly to space.

'I have already access to the high-tier space magic that can bend and manipulate dimensions of space. I just need to repurpose it to manipulate dimensions of time and I will get out.' However, the dragon still felt it was like a giant mountain he needed to climb over.

Space magic was already extremely complex, and he didn't just need to learn or understand it. He needed to fully comprehend it and change into a different type of magic, albeit similar.

His mouth opened in a bitter smile that partially revealed sharp, pointy canines, 'It will take lots of time. Luckily time is the only thing I have currently enough.'

His only worry was about his kingdom and minions, 'If I finally escape and they will be destroyed by that time... No, they are not that weak. They are of my blood so they will not succumb so easily to my enemies.'

POV That Blonde Player:

Ranks upon ranks of soldiers and players stood on the black, burned field. Their armour and weapons gleamed under the sunlight shining on their heads. Their eyes were turned with greed at the giant rainbow-glowing oval portal.

"We have won! We have pushed back the forces of the evil dragon!"

"For the alliance!"

"The dungeon is ours!"

Cheers resonated through the field of burned soil littered with craters and deep crevices.

However, on a distant hill overseeing the entire valley, players and humans in richly decorated armour or colourful silk tunics stared at each other with severity.

"This is our land so we have the right to explore the pocket dimension first and to have half a cut of your total gains!" A black-haired nobleman stared dagger at an old man in priestly robes.

"Be quiet, it was the divine might of the lord of wind that secured our victory! So the church should have the greatest cut!"

The blonde player by their side couldn't hold it as his aura flared up.

"Shut the fuck up! It was us, players, who died most for this. Without us, it would have been your armies that would have bled! We will explore the dungeon first!"

"Haha, return back to your line kid. Do you know who are you even talking to? You will get your rightful cut after we are done with negotiating." The old priest chuckled as he spat on the ground.

'They were right, it is time for a revolution. We players have to strike while we still can!'

A grin formed on his face as he waved his hand, and a red flare shot to the sky, its bright red light attracting everyone's gazes.

"Fuck you! You NPCs have been using us for a long time. It is now time for us to take what we rightfully deserve!"

Bright lights flashed over the plains, and dozens of fiery explosions swept through the assembled soldiers. The ground shook beneath their legs, and all the players drew their weapons as they dashed at the NPC's with greed and bloodthirst in their eyes.

"I hope you see this, Zeus. We are the masters here, while you are still nothing but a slave to an NPC!"

"What is the meaning of this?! Are you joining the traitors?"

The shadows twisted, and black hooded silhouettes of the assassins rushed the priest and the nobles. Daggers gleamed in their hands, and before anyone could even move, they pierced through their hearts.

"From now on this dungeon is property of Earth's Player Federation!"

The dead bodies collapsed to the ground with audible thuds and blood spraying.

POV Alesia:

Alesia gazed at the map on the table black table in her office with a huge smile. She leaned back against her chair, quietly murmuring, "And we were afraid of being attacked. Instead, these idiots are fighting against each other. Wars engulfed the continent, but none of them involved us."

A giant red plot sprawled from the continent's western coast to the large river separating the western part of the continent from the central one.

'Both angels and demons are waging war across the mortal's lands. They hate each other so none of them will surrender too easily. In other words, it is a perfect distraction.'

Her gaze moved to a large blue plot with multiple smaller ones, 'Immortals are growing more and more brazen. At once every single country was destabilized from the inside. At the same time, they even dared to annex land and create their own countries. With their flanks insecure no one should seek trouble with us.'

It was all slowly falling together right before her eyes. All the dragon's actions perfectly connected to create utter mayhem on the continent.

Her smile grew even larger, and her eyes brightly shined, 'If I trigger our sleeping agents now, even more chaos will engulf the continent. No, they need to remain hidden for now, otherwise, the true nature of the rings would be revealed.'

She quickly calmed down, reminding herself it wasn't time to move.

'Master must have a good reason for their absence. I am sure once they return, they will be stronger again.' She felt nothing but confidence as it had already become a norm for the dragon always grow stronger in sudden bursts of power.
