Chapter 283 The Battle Of Storm, Volcano And Apocalypse, Part 1/2 [Bonus]

POV Vesuvius:

The colossal dragon flapped his wings, his bulky body covered in thick armour glinting in the everpresent white light. His wings crackled and created lightning sparks with each of their flaps as he rose higher and higher in the white sky.

Above him was an endless white sky, and under him was green pasture going as far as his eyes could see, the verdant green grass slightly moving under a breeze.

'What even is this space? It doesn't feel like something real.'

The voice of the crimson flames echoed through the emptiness as if bouncing off some invisible walls, "Now, fight! Fight the imprint left back by the last volcano dragon lord. Of course, the trial is supposed to be fair, so you will only face the lord's version of the same age."

"Graaaah!" the whole sky blackened, the lightning striking across the dark smoke-like clouds. Two massive golden eyes ignited high in the clouds, the pair of eyes glaring straight at Vesuvius.

Ding!

He couldn't help but feel his interest quickly peak, 'I wonder how the last volcano dragon lord looked.'

Vesuvius also stared back into the golden eyes as the dark smoke exploded out of his body, flooding the sky and mixing with the smoke of the other dragon.

At once, both of them opened their mouths, bright purple and blue lights making the clouds glow, splitting the sky into two halves, one blue and the second purple.

Vesuvius knew he had more power than any young adult dragon should have, but he kept his caution, not daring to underestimate the second dragon, 'Who knows what tricks they have up in the sleeve.'

Two destructive beams shot through the sky under immense pressure, pulsing with magma, fire, lightning and black smoke. One was purple, and the second was blue, both of them colliding mid-way between the two dragons.

An immensely powerful shockwave swept through the clouds, all of them swirling, the vibrations passing through the Vesuviuse's body, the crystals on his body ringing.

The two beams pushed against each other, the purple and blue magma and lightning raining down towards the endless green pasture, destroying all of the grass and turning it into black wastelands of magma and ash.

The two beams were pushing against each other, their fight sending shockwaves and sparks through the sky.

Vesuvius pushed mana into his second gland, the purple beam thickening with its glow and pressure rising further. Immediately the purple beam steamrolled through the blue one, pushing it back, climbing higher and higher towards the young volcano dragonlord.

The lightning crackled and sparkled in the clouds above, lightning descending towards the apocalypse dragon, pelting him from every side. The electricity surged through his whole body, throwing sparks and arks around him. His muscles tensed as the bolts struck his conductive horns that were like lightning rods and entered his body.

The electricity bypassed his defences, using the horns as conduits leading straight into the dragon's head.

'Haha, I almost forget the pain of electric passing through one's nerves.'

His eyes sparked in electrical sparks, his mind almost going to shock as he remembered the painful lightning attacks of the hobgoblin boss, 'The elemental attacks of a true dragon can never truly be resisted...'

Vesuvius pushed, his domain expanding out of his body, moving to grab the lightning, pulling against it as he wrestled for its control with the second dragon. His raw mind power from his intelligence stat brought to him by the system, and his advanced thunderstorm affinity gave him the needed edge as he took control over the lighting in the sky.

He snatched the lightning, the sky crackling again as all of the electricity shot up towards the volcano dragon hidden within the clouds.

The control wasn't smooth as expected. He felt like trying to move a hand held by another weaker person.

Thunder rumbled with the flash of blue electrical light revealing the giant black silhouette hidden within the clouds, metal reflecting the blue light.

'So this one likely also has some kind of metal affinity.'

The crimson fire on the throne pulsed, the whole battle stopping as if frozen in time, "Damn it. This trial is broken as you are such an anomaly. It looks like I need to make it juicier!"

Vesuvius wanted to curse the voice of the Satanael, but there was nothing he could do but brace for whatever was coming.

The lightning spiralled across the sky, arcs of electricity zigzagging through the black clouds rotating in a massive spiral like a hurricane, "Come forth, the thunderstorm dragon lord Aurum Tempest!"

'Two at once?!' Vesuvius wasn't a fool and knew that dragons that were strong enough to become dragon lords weren't ordinary, 'They might be weakened to my age, but they still must have some dangerous technique.'

Out of the spiralling circles of wind, a small dragon descended. Its body was smaller than these of the volcano dragons, but it still dwarfed even Godzilla.

Its scales constantly moved and whirled in energy, looking almost like clouds, the lightning surrounding its whole body, the deer-like horns on its head emitting arcs of lightning connecting with the clouds.

Its wings were ethereal, looking like woven clouds crackling with electricity, its face obscured by a veil of rain and clouds.

Lightning crackled around Vesuvius, his body shooting out of the way, the loud sonic booms creating circles in the clouds. His body turned into a blur, the air moving out of his way with sound distorting with his sudden acceleration.

The next moment the huge black mass of black volcanic armour glinting with a metallic lustre, with obsidian and volcanic glass refracting the light of blue magma in its cracks, swished through the place where he was just a moment earlier.

The sharp metal-looking claws narrowly passed by him, the wind made by the sudden move gushing against Vesuviuse's tail.

The wave of wind suddenly smashed into his side, creating a loud, dull bang, his armour slightly cracking and bending under sheer force. His body launched into the side, a massive tail covered in blazing hot-looking metallic blades approaching him from the side.
