Two tornadoes crackling with lightning moved towards the dragon covered in the dark smoke that was also filled with crackling sparks of lightning. Wind loudly howled as water droplets kept beating on the hard volcanic stone covering the dragon before evaporating. The dragon quickly tilted his wings and made a sharp turn to avoid two tornadoes. He had powerful volcanic armour and resistant dragon scales together with his affinities. However, he still refused to get sucked in by the tornadoes as the elements compromising them had already fully merged into a higher-tier element, so he wouldn't be immune to the damage they dealt. Also, his wings weren't as sturdy as the heavily armoured rest of his body.

'Last thing I need now is to get my wings mangled, and entering these two tornadoes would be like sticking them into a blender.'

The lightning tornadoes changed their direction quickly, heading towards the dragon at a great speed, turning the green grassland under them into the bare burned ground.

Two eagles squealed and flapped their wings in weird spiralling moves. Suddenly blades of water creating electrical arcs condensed in front of the two eagles. Then a strong wind propelled them towards the dragon. They moved faster than bolts launched from crossbows, screeching as they pierced through the air. They pierced through the dark smoke dispersing it with strong wind around them. Electrical arcs around them flickered and decreased in size and intensity together with the speed of the water blades immediately after entering the close proximity of the dragon. Then the blades impacted the black armour, piercing a few centimetres into it before evaporating and releasing electrical shock through the armour.

The dragon didn't even flinch as he kept flying through the heavy rain with two tornadoes on his tail. Vesuvius opened his mouth, orange light flickering inside before a thick stream of magma pierced through the heavy rain, creating steam around it. The stream of magma flew forward, illuminating the dark sky covered by thick clouds in orange and yellow colours.

Two eagles split, each of them flying in different directions. At the same time, a large amount of water gathered around them and, together with strong wind, pushed against the magma, hampering it and slowing it down as clouds of steam filled the sky.

The stream of magma flew through where the eagles used to be and continued into a distance before falling towards the green ground in a shower of flames.

'Nah, this is too slow... I could try to condense it into a spike attack, but I would be like a sitting duck in the meantime. It is hard to focus on the timing and mana control even without being chased by the two blenders, and there is no cover close enough that I could use.'

Vesuvius chose a different approach. His horns immediately sparkled with electrical arcs around them going wild, surging more than usually. Then a massive lightning bolt shot out, splitting the sky in half and blinding everything in white light. It was much more potent than the last time he did it, as his electrical powers got boosted by a significant margin within the massive storm. However, he wasn't the only one, as the eagles also kept gathering the power in the storm to fuel their relentless attacks.

The lightning passed through the sky, hitting one of the eagles. Violent electrical tendrils and sparks burst through the eagle, fighting with its own electrical powers, temporary stunning the eagle. Vesuvius used that moment and opened his mouth, releasing another thick stream of magma. The orange light joined the white and blue light from the lightning as the magma stream passed through the eagle, enveloping it in a blazing hot liquid coffin.

Then a tiny spherical thing covered in magma dropped down.

Usually, the eagle should be highly resistant to the lightning, as it was a storm elemental, 'As I thought, elemental attacks of true dragons are much harder to resist and likely impossible to be immune against them.'

One of the two tornados immediately dispersed, vanishing as suddenly as it formed, and the second eagle made a weird spiralling move with its wings, sending another barrage of water blades crackling with electricity.

The dragon kept flying without stopping as he had the tornado on his heels, winds around him propelling him faster. He blasted through the air and rolled to the side, letting most of the blades narrowly miss him. The remaining water blades hit his body and exploded in small electrical bursts. Two blades hit him into one of his wings, piercing through the membrane on them and passing into the distance.

Vesuvius looked at the holes in his leathery wings, and rage surged in him.

"Grah!" the dragon growled in rage, sending visible vibrations through the raindrops around him.

His horns sparkled again, and the mana from his body surged through his veins, entering the horns. The arcs of electricity around them grew even more than before. The electrical charge from the atmosphere, his body and the mana quickly gathered, forming bright sparks around his head. Finally, colossal lightning struck across the skies, illuminating everything in blinding light and sending ear-shattering thunder across the lands.

The lightning struck at the elemental, incredible energy passing through its body. The dragon launched himself forward with rage-filled eyes. All winds around him pushed him forwards even more than usual, fuelled by his rage. He opened his gaping mouth, showing his huge razor-sharp teeth. He crossed the distance in a blink of an eye. His huge mouth closed upon the eagle, crushing and tearing its ethereal flesh made out of pure elemental energy.

The eagle let out a painful shriek before vanishing in the closed mouth of the dragon. The energy, as if drinking several bathtubs filled with energy drink, surged through his body, filling him with renewed vigour.

Vesuvius felt something hard between his teeth, he tried to crush it, but it refused to budge. He opened his mouth and spat out a small spherical object with electricity crackling around it. Its inside looked as if filled with thick clouds and tornadoes crackling with electricity. He quickly caught it with a magical blue hand.

Suddenly a loud and deep earth-shattering roar came from the distance, and the massive storm increased in intensity, lightning bombarding everything under him.
