The Japanese language teacher’s room is a room that can be freely used by teachers who teach Japanese.

It is used for student guidance on the subject and for preparing teaching materials.

This is probably unique to a subject that does not have a dedicated room like the science room or music room.

Since the current principal took over, various interesting rules have been established.

The room is less than half the size of a classroom and Susanoo is the only one inside.

This room has a human dispersing effect.

This is probably to prevent other language teachers from coming in.

Though I’m not sure if I can call this Susanoo’s “magic”.

「What do you want?」

「Well, sit down.」

Susanoo offered me a chair with the same gentle smile he had in class.

「I’m fine like this.」

I stood near the door and looked down at Susanoo, who crossed his legs gracefully.

「I don’t like it since it feels like I’m making you stand. Recently, the human rights advocates have increased like may fly.」

This trend will even accelerate in the future.

「Let’s get to the point.」

「Maa, don’t look so scary. I’m just curious about you that’s why I want to talk to you.」

Susanoo took a gold pocket watch with a comb from his bosom. He checked the time and snapped the cover shut.

He did it in an elegant manner.

Now, I’m not sure if I should take what he said literally….

「What do you think is a variant?」

「If you asked me for a quiz show, do it with someone else. Also, you should be more familiar with that.」

「I want to hear your opinion. As far as I know, you are the strongest human I’ve met. 」

His eyes have both innocence and sadness. He has a soft expression yet you can see his eagerness to know the truth.

Yes, Susanoo’s eyes reminded me of those scientists whose biography I had to read.

「I’ve only recently learned about variants. I don’t really know that much. One day, a mythical being just appeared in this world and it seems to be the enemy of humanity because they want to eat humans. That’s about it.」

「I see.」

Susanoo looked a little disappointed.

「What about you?」

「I’ve been doing a lot of research on the details. You are someone who didn’t bother thinking about the basics, aren’t you?」

「The basics?」

「Why do we even exist?」

This is getting more philosophical than expected.

「Using your own statement, doesn’t that mean that humans have no reasons to exist too?」

「That is true. However, you can live a great life on earth and weave generations together.  Even if all you do is give birth to flesh and return to earth.」

It’s a bit of a stretch to say it that way but that’s one way to explain it.

「Are you different…..?」

「You have a lover, don’t you?」

「I don’t.」

「Ah, is Shiratori-kun not your lover? My bad. Let me rephrase it. Do you have anyone you care about?」

「……」

「The fact that you’re not shaking your head and have a grim look on your face shows how hard you are holding back.」

Why do you want to know who I care for?

If I say anything, they’ll become my weakness.

Because “enemies” will come to those I care for.

I’ve learned this lesson in the other world.

Even if they already know, the less information I give them, the better.

「Well, that’s good. Now, let’s talk about normal things. Humans have romantic feelings as well as sexual desires. This is an important factor in the survival of your species.」

He sounds like the last boss of the 08MF Platoon.

「We don’t have that.」

「Is it because you are originally gods?」

「No, when I was purely a god, I had a wife. All those Norse gods you’ve been fighting lately, if you check their mythology, you’ll find out that they’re all humans, right?」

「Right…..」

「Even now, I still cherish my wife when I was a god. However, when I am in this body, if you asked me whether I feel something new about my wife, all you’ll stir up is my appetite.」

「Is your appetite that great?」

Susanoo nodded with a smile.

「Then….I also tried having a child with another variant.」

What Susanoo said shocked me to the bone.
