Chapter 25: Planning to kill her.

At Xiaowei’s suggestion to call the physician to treat her, Yang Ning was reminded about the killing headache that she had last night.

The thought of what happened last night gave her goosebumps all over her body. Her body was burning in fever and the headache was so painful that it felt like it would burst open any next moment.

The last night was so hard on her that she thought that she was going to die at that moment. Thankfully, Xiaowei brought the physician on time, otherwise, who knows what would have happened to her last night?

Would she have returned to her world if something were to happen to her last night or her life story would have ended right there?

Yang Ning pursed her lips and before she could make a decision if her condition is serious enough to call the physician or not, the door of the chamber was pushed open with a force, making a loud noise.

” MOMM!!” Yang Ning screamed as she was startled by the sudden noise as she was not expecting anyone to come to her room at the moment and sat on the bed in a startle.

As she left the Banquet early with Xiaowei and was happy to find some time to rest in peace, she wasn’t expecting anyone to visit her at the moment.

How come they’re back so soon? She wondered.

In startle, Yang Ning hurriedly stood up and sat on the bed. While doing so, she even cramped her neck. “Ahh...AH...My neck!” She groaned in pain while massaging her stiff neck as she looked at the person standing at the door.

” What are you doing? Don’t you know how to announce your presence from outside before entering the room?” Yang Ning was annoyed by the rudeness of the person.

While a deep frown appeared on Yang Ning’s forehead, Xiaowei’s complexion turned pale to see the person standing at the entrance and called out in a quaking voice, ” Se...nior Maid. What...what brings you here?”

Xing Bao snickered in mocking to see Yang Ning who was sitting on her bed in her garments, meanwhile, Xiaowei was standing next to her, with her hands clasped in front, politely.

Even though Yang Ning managed to gain favor from His Majesty at the banquet, at Yang Household, they are still the same. Losers!

The senior maid did not answer Yang Ning’s question nor even bother to greet Yang Ning, as usual. She ignored her completely as if she wasn’t in the room and walked towards Xiaowei, who was looking at the ground, nervously ” Master has called ‘Your lady’ to his study room. Make sure she is dressed properly before going to meet him.”

” Also...do not ignore my words this time. Just act as you usually do.” The senior maid said in a cold and arrogant voice, reminding Xiaowei about how she and Yang Ning ignored her words in the morning and Yang Ning did not wear the dress to the Banquet that Chang Ah had prepared for her.

” Yes? Lord has summoned my lady? But....why?” Xiaowei’s complexion panicked as she could not understand why would Yang Luoyang call Yang Ning to his study room all of a sudden?

Is he going to punish her lady for what happened in the morning? But...didn’t His Majesty praise her lady in front of everyone for being thoughtful and well-deserving for the title of Crown Princess of the Empire?

” How would I know? Also, even if I knew, do you think I am obliged to answer your question? Huh?” Xing Bao snapped at her.

” Don’t forget your position in this household. You’re just a mere maid. Don’t go ahead of yourself.” The Senior Maid was annoyed at the way Xiaowei kept getting on her nerves and dared to question her.

The senior maid did not shout at Xiaowei in front of Yang Ning, however, her cold and annoyed yet authoritative tone was enough to send a clear message to her.

Yang Ning might be the eldest lady of the household, but as the personal maid to Chang Ah – the Mistress of the household, she has an upper hand over her.

” Apologies....Senior Maid. I....spoke out of line.” Xiaowei meekly responded, with her hands clasped politely in front and head held low.

If she wants to live in this household without creating any new difficulties for her lady, it’s better for her to follow the commands of the Mistress and Senior Maid as in the end, their rule will pertain in the household.

Xing Bao smirked as she was pleased to see Xiaowei trembling like a soaked kitten in the rainy night on the streets.

The senior maid slapped Xiaowei lightly on the face as if patting her and said in a low voice, ” Do not waste time in spouting nonsense and get on with your work. You know that the Lord does not like to wait for anyone.” As said this, she turned around to leave – ignoring Yang Ning as if she did not even exist in the room.

Xiaowei nodded meekly as she fought against the stubborn tears that were forcing their way out. Even though Xing Bao did not beat her in front of Yang Ning, her small actions were humiliating enough.

More than that, the way she ignored her lady was making her feel even more helpless and humiliated. Her lady is the eldest daughter of the Yang Household, how can she be treated and be ignored like this, that too by a Servant?

It is not only disgraceful towards her Lady but also unacceptable for a servant to mistreat their Master this way.

‘How upset she must be.’ The thought of Yang Ning made Xiaowei tear up and she could not help but sob silently.

However, before she could control her emotions and turn to look after Yang Ning, something flew in front of her and smashed on the ground in pieces. Everything happened so unexpectedly that she did not get the chance to realize what just happened.
