After leaving the training ground of the Imperial Guard, Cain came to the Royal Mage Corps’ post that was in a different annex.

He knocked on the door and waited for a while, but there was not a voice from anyone and since the door didn’t open, Cain opened the door himself and looked inside.

People in gray and deep red robes were eating at the table, sitting on the sofa by the wall reading a book, and hanging from the beams on the ceiling doing pull-ups.

…Pull-ups?

Looking around the room, since he couldn’t find the person that he was looking for, Cain called out to the man who was closest to him, who was eating.

“I’m sorry to disturb you during your meal. Do you know where Professor Tirunoa is?”

“Tirunoa-sama? He’s probably in the office?”

Office. When I asked him where it was, the man who was eating asked a man who was zoning out on the sofa to help guide me. Because he felt bad, Cain said he would go by himself if he could just tell him the location.

“You are Cain-sama, right? I’ve heard about you, so I’m thrilled to meet you. Let’s go, I’ll take you. Because it’s scary to enter Tirunoa-sama’s office.”

“…Thank you?”

What was it about the office that was scary to enter?

Since Tirunoa had taught him magic as a private tutor, it was the first time to see him as a royal mage. Of course, it was also his first time to come to the annex, headquarters of the Mage Corps.

“The Mage Corps always welcomes excellent mages to join. Cain-sama too, if you would like it, please consider joining the Mage Corps after graduating from school.”

The mage who was leading the way said so and invited Cain. Tirunoa also invited him to join the Mage Corps when he was speaking about things while he was his private tutor.

He also called out to Diana who was improving steadily, and to Ilvalino who can just do a little healing magic.

Was the Royal Mage Corps really short of manpower?

“There’s the night light on the day of God Migration, right? That light, the Royal Mage Corps has been making it since about November. Light magic is packed into blank magic stones with high transparency.”

“…We also helped.”

“Oh, is that so? Cain-sama too? Thank you for that. That, even if you put the magic in advance, the intensity will slowly drop, it has to be done immediately before so it’s quite an ordeal.”

“It was only for a little bit, but I hope it helped.”

“You know on the day of God Migration, it’s the Mage Corps’ job to light up the bonfires in the city. Making the flower petals fall at the school’s entrance and graduation ceremony, the sound amplification and lighting during the King’s speech, and things like that, you know.”

It was quite a peaceful job description.

“You must think that it’s so peaceful, don’t you, Cain-sama. We also go out with the knights to the minor scuffles by the border and go to exterminate monsters. And creating barriers around the palace, researching magic and, researching magic and, researching magic.”

“So mainly, researching magic, I see.”

He was walking down the hallway while listening to the story about the hardships? of the Mage Corps, that they almost passed by the door that had the plate with ” Tirunoa ” written on it.

“Ah, isn’t Professor Tirunoa ‘s room here?”

When I stopped and pointed at it, the mage who was guiding me grinned.

“As expected. For those with weak magic or lack of training, they won’t even know that there is a door.”

“Is it hidden?”

” Tirunoa-sama – he doesn’t like to be bothered by people who don’t use magic.”

It seemed for those with low magical power, they only saw it as a wall. Plus, if someone has magical power but they have not been trained to use magic, it will look like iron bars with a beast on the other side, or it will look like a bloody and tattered wooden door.

Quite a mean thing to do.

“Hey, hey, Cain-sama. You’ve finally come. I have been waiting.”

“Professor Tirunoa, greetings … Ouff..”

He went inside the room, Tirunoa jumped at Cain who was trying to show gratitude in a polite manner, and patted and stroked his head. After that, he was grabbed by the waist and spun around, and later dropped on the sofa.

“I heard that you’re going to the neighboring country. It seems like there’s no magic in the neighboring country so even if you go there, it would be boring. Just because you’re going to a country without magic, you can’t skip practice, okay Cain-sama?”

“I will keep that in mind.”[Read this novel and other amazing translated novels from the original source at the “Novel Multiverse dot com” website @ novelmultiverse.com]

Tirunoa who was sitting on the sofa on the opposite side opened a box that was placed at the corner of the table and took out two cups from the inside and placed it on the table.  When he snapped his finger, a lump of water appeared on top of the cups, and immediately began to steam. Then just like that it plopped and fell into the cups.

It splashed and the top of the table was drenched.

Similarly, a bottle was taken out from the box and the contents were put into a cup with a spoon, stirred, and one was pushed out in front of Cain.

“It’s Ceseradi flower marinated in honey. Tea is troublesome so I’m always drinking this. It’s delicious.”

“I’ll enjoy it. Hot..”

Small flowers are floating in the sweet and sour red water. As I drank slowly while blowing it to cool down, Tirunoa took out candy and biscuits from his pockets everywhere and piled them on the table.

“Have you been able to use transfer magic?”

“… I can now move within my field of view.”

“Oh, it’s amazing, amazing.”

He gave Cain a tepid applause and Tirunoa leaned forward and looked up and peeked at Cain’s face.

“Transfer magic is scary, isn’t it?”

“Yes, it’s scary.”

“It’s because if you’re careless, you’ll die.”

If you master earth magic and wind magic, you can try taking on transfer magic as the combined magic. Tirunoa told Cain this long ago. After that, Cain, who practiced earth magic and became able to use it until the final magic, read a book on magic theory to learn transfer magic, but he didn’t really understand. When he read various spell books from different authors and understood the theory of transfer magic, he realized that it was not a dream magic that could move you anytime, anywhere in an instant.

Transfer magic was the magic of creating another body at the destination, moving the soul there, and then destroying the original body.

If you make a body somewhere you can’t see and fail to move your soul.

If you attempt to transfer somewhere you don’t really know and the body was created inside of rocks or water.

It was a magic that you will die if you fail.

“If only I could come back from the neighboring country in an instant …”

“Still, it is a magic that can protect you from sudden misfortunes and can protect the important things in front of you.”

Cain slanted his eyebrows and smiled a wry smile.

Satisfied with his disciples who had learned transfer magic and understood the danger, Tirunoa leaned back on the sofa with his arms crossed.

“You don’t have to worry about Diana. I’ll nurture her to be the strongest mage while telling your parents that I had taught her magic on how to make delicious tea and make flowers last longer. An alias to present to the world, it’s good.  It’s a good idea. It’s important for things to be interesting. Strength is still needed, even to be involved in trivial things. “

“Professor Tirunoa …”

“As expected from Cain-sama’s younger sister. Truly have the talent. It’s also good to be able to use the rare darkness magic. Just because she’s a lady, just to have an interest in it would be such a waste, right? Ilvino too, he’s not strong, but being able to use healing magic is excellent. It’s filling for what Cain-sama lacks.”

“Ultimately, I couldn’t use darkness, holy, and healing magic.”

“Because you can use the others, it’s a big deal. Diana-sama can use darkness magic, and Ilvino can use healing magic. For holy magic, you might make friends with someone who can use it in the future. There are surprisingly few things you can do alone, you know? What you can’t do, you can rely on someone who can do it.”

When Tirunoa stood up, he held onto the indigo robe that was on the back of the soda and stood next to Cain.

He was smiling and he thought that he was about to pat his head, but he was pushed repeatedly to the edge of the sofa.

When Tirunoa sat down at the gap on the sofa that was made, he simply folded the robe that he had in his hand and held it out to Cain.

“I’m giving you a mage’s robe. It’s made a little bigger because you’re still growing. I’ll give you a new one when it gets smaller, so make sure to come and get it, okay?”

It was a matching robe with the one Tirunoa always wears, a robe with the hem being jagged like flower petals.  Coming to get a robe that fit him – an excuse to come and visit him was also gifted.

“Professor Tirunoa. I really enjoyed being able to learn magic from you. Although halfway through, I feel like you have eased up quite a bit..”

“Because Cain-sama is an excellent disciple.”

He was told to put on the robe, so he put it on the spot. The hem was made quite wide, so it was quite drapey. He was told to spin around, so he turned around on the spot, and the robe that was made from a light material spread out in a circle, and it probably looked like an indigo flower when viewed from above.

Tirunoa stood up and stood aside Cain who was in the robe.

Tirunoa had a small frame for an adult, but he was still taller than the 12-year-old Cain. He looked at his face from above, smiled, and slapped him on the back.

“If you wear a robe, even when you have a sword here, it would be hard to be noticed. If you’re wearing a sword for self-defense, wear a robe on top. With that, in the neighboring country, you can get through as a mage. It’s best to save up the trump card. I’ve heard from Faby that you’re good at swords too.”

“When you say Faby, you mean..”

In Cain’s mind, the thing that immediately came to mind was the stuffed toy, which had wide round eyes and hairy, thick fur.

Seemed like it was referring to Vice Commander Fabian. Tirunoa said that they were friends from Magic Academy although Cain had never heard about Tirunoa from Fabian.

“Cain-sama. You are my disciple. I will be waiting for you to come back. I’m waiting for you to grow up and come asking for a bigger robe.”

This time for sure, Cain thanked his mentor properly and showed his gratitude.
