“Divine light, heal your people. [Holy Light].”

I healed the wounds that had been burned by the giant slime using some of my recovered magical power as I sat up.

“Hah.”

When I let out a sigh of relief I looked around. Then, I saw that everything in the cave that had been dyed black had been purified and regained its original color, and the white grains that had been transformed from the dirt had fallen to the ground, making it look like a white-sand beach.

In front of me, I climbed up the small sand dune that had formed where the giant slime had been earlier, and picked up a white magic stone—a Light Magic Crystal—had fallen at the top.

“Is this size about B-rank, after all? But it has also changed this one?”

The magic stone that the Giant Black Slime dropped was a Light Magic Crystal. But it’s hard to imagine that the giant slime has light attributes. I’m sure that the small Black Slime yielded Dark Magic Crystals, and the Giant Slime was originally Dark Magic Crystals.

And when I defeated the undead in Elem’s dungeon by purifying them, the drop items changed. But there was a possibility that this was only in the special environment of the dungeon, and that only the undead would do this.

“But that was debunked.”

In other words, outside of dungeons, even outside of the undead, if the monsters could be defeated by purification, the magic stones could be transformed.

I put the [Light Magic Crystal] into my magic bag and waded through the pile of white grains. Magi Location had caught some kind of reaction underneath this.

“What…”

“Riofanel’s Egg”

“Egg of the Holy Beast Riofanel”

Those words entered my mind.

What was there was a pure white egg.

It was about 10 centimeters wide and 20 centimeters long. I’ve never seen one before, but it’s about the same size as an ostrich egg. Maybe.

I held the egg in my hand and lifted it up to my eyes

“Is it… alive?”

The fact that it was here meant that it had been inside the Giant Black Slime. The first thing I can’t believe is that the egg was able to keep its shape without being digested since I almost got melted when I stuck my hand inside it.

Then, as if to answer my words, the egg weakly shook itself.

“…does this mean it’s alive? Is that right?”

I couldn’t help but ask the egg, but this time I got no response.

“Hmm… Divine light, heal your people. [Holy Light].”

The [Holy Light] fell on the egg and was absorbed.

I was worried about its weakness, so I used recovery magic on the egg, but was this the right thing to do? No, before that, I wondered if the child that Lizzy was talking about that needed help was this egg. I’d like to call up Lizzy and ask her about it, but I don’t have any magic left for that right now.

“But what should I do with this egg…”

Now that I’ve freed it from the giant slime, can I just leave it here? Do I need to find the parents and return the egg to them? Do I need to hatch the egg? Do I need to warm it up if I want it to hatch? I can’t decide what to do with this egg.

“Hmm… well, I can’t just leave it alone, right?”

It seems to be a Holy Beast, after all. If I leave it alone with just a goodbye, I would feel bad about it.

I took the cloak out of the magic bag, laid it on the ground, put an egg in the middle, wrapped it around the egg like a candy ball, and tied it around my neck like a necklace. It was a temporary measure. If it didn’t hatch when I got to town, I’d buy a special bag.

Thinking about the future of the egg, I walked along the white road to the entrance of the temple.

There are patterns are carved on the pillars. The carvings of people and animals on the outer walls. When I proceeded to the front of the temple while looking at those patterns that appeared on the surface due to purification, I could clearly see that the doorway had completely collapsed.

“This is not good…”

It was completely blocked and there was no way to get out. It might be possible to remove the debris if I took my time, but I was afraid that if I messed with it too much, it would collapse even more and I would get caught in it. Besides…

“I don’t have enough time.”

I have enough food to last me a while, but I can’t get enough water. I think I have enough wine left for a few more days.

“In the end, I have no choice but to move on.”

I turned around and looked at the path leading to the depths of the cave.
