Chapter 653: 12.55 Unknown Star – Modern ABO World: First Case – Doctor Shen

After having a conversational call with Officer Ying Wu and Wei Lou, Jie Yun and Ms. Su worked together to block the door. This prevents anyone inside from coming into the room, especially the serial killer waiting outside.

Ms. Su stood behind her younger brother and looked at the heavy rain outside. She walked towards the wardrobe and took out a few raincoats and umbrellas. The house had no second floor so if they got out of the window, they would be able to get out of the house.

Jie Yun was a bit confused seeing his sister’s actions but when he saw what he had taken out, he instantly understood what her sister was planning.

Ms. Su spoke, “Stop looking and wear it. There is another way out aside from the front door. The house had been renovated from the old one and I had blocked a few spaces towards the backdoor but my room had one, this is to ensure an escape route for me as I live alone.”

“Does your former husband know about the backdoor?” asked Jie Yun as he wore the raincoat and carried an umbrella with him. He also helps his sister be completely covered and keep her body warm as her situation is very special.

Ms. Su answered, “He doesn’t know. He only got her last night and he had stayed by my side the whole time. Let’s go out quietly. There should be some police officers waiting outside. We can ask for their help.”

Jie Yun no longer wasted more time. He helped his sister climb out the window of the room and secretly ran out of the house. They’ve used the backdoor Ms. Su had made for her secret escape route without anyone from inside noticing that they are gone.

It took only a few minutes for them to meet the police officers outside the house and immediately sent Ms. Su to safety.

Jie Yun said to the police officers, “Please send her to the hospital as soon as possible. She is pregnant so be careful on the road.”

“We will. We will leave half of the team to help you watch over the house.” said a police officer then glanced at the cold body of one of their comrades with sadness in their eyes, “Also to send Xiao Jin to the morgue and inform his family.”

“Go. Leave everything to us. We will definitely capture him.” said Jie Yun.

“Please don’t let him escape and be careful.” said the other police officers who lost a friend today.

Ms. Su said to his younger brother, “Don’t overdo it. Don’t come in there alone. Wait for your teammates.”

“I will. Rest well. I will come to visit after work, Su-jie,” said Jie Yun with a rare smile.

Unknown to Doctor Shen, the last target on his list had longed to escape his grasp. He was still inside the house waiting for Jie Yun and Ms. Su to come out of the door all this time.

Doctor Shen, who removed the police officer’s uniform and wore a white shirt from the dead husband’s clothes, walks around the house. He even took an apple in the kitchen and waited, especially at the door of the master’s bedroom.

“They are taking too long for a private talk about my case. Hm~” Doctor Shen tried listening at the door of the bedroom and heard nothing at all.

He felt something that made him unease had happened. He followed his instinct and kicked the door of the Master’s bedroom. His strength had increased abruptly with that one kick.

It was a strength beyond ordinary alpha could use. The should of something breaking was heard when he destroyed the door of the bedroom. As expected, the room was empty and there was no such thing as a presence inside of it.

He clicked his tongue as he recalled Jie Yun’s bewildered eyes before they entered the house. He had an inkling that the man had noticed something weird about him but decided not to pursue it.

“I would have waited for my wounds to heal before I had approached him. He must have smelled the scent of herbs and medicine on me. But would he notice something is weird with just that? Or had he learned that the phone call from before is recorded instead.” murmured Doctor Shen as he noticed a few traces of wet areas near the window. Obviously, the two had longed to escape and it was through this window that they climbed out of the house.

Doctor Shen narrowed his eyes and thought of something, “Who would have thought she had made a backdoor after I killed her sister a year ago. Tsk! I shouldn’t have waited for long and killed her then. It is better to escape before that dangerous lad in hoodies comes over.”

Unknown to him is that the whole house had been long surrounded by the police. As soon as he stepped outside the house multiple guns had been pointed at him. Standing in front of the group of uniformed police are a few people in casual clothes.

The thug undercover police were there looking at him with a smug expression. Standing beside him is Jie Yun who had escaped from the window with his target and the persistent police officer who protected his target since yesterday. But what caught his eyes the most were the two men standing at the center of the crowd. One looks like an alpha who possessed a presence much more powerful than the other alpha he had met before and that dangerous young man with argent eyes staring at him coldly. Those eyes were like vipers looking at him like prey. A dead prey to be exact.

Officer Ying Wu commanded, “Capture him!”

The police surrounding Doctor Shen slowly get closer to the serial killer. They were cautious when approaching, this is after all a killer who was deemed professional by their captain. Hua Heiyu, who was observing him from a distance, noticed that Doctor Shen’s lip suddenly curled up into an evil smile.

Hua Heiyu shouted, “Jump on him!”

The police officers paused as they don’t recognize his voice but when they were about to jump on the murderer.

Doctor Shen suddenly laughs. Jie Yun noticed what was wrong with this man and immediately pointed it out.

“He injected something on himself!” said Jie Yun.

Prosecutor Ye Yuyan no longer hesitated and said, “Shoot him down!”

The sounds of guns and the scene of bullets flying at one target were witnessed by everyone. But what happened next shocked them more. As if an invisible force field protects Doctor Shen and the bullets all halted in the air. Only a trail of blood coming out of his nose and lips was found different from Doctor Shen

Wei Lou Exclaimed, “What the hell is this?!”

Everyone except Hua Heiyu and Jie Yun was shocked by such a magical scene.

“How is he doing that!? Is it a drug? It’s the drug, right!?” said Officer Ying Wu in astonishment.

Hua Heiyu commanded, “Don’t stop! Rain a few more bullets on him! That force field isn’t invincible!!”

“Fire! Shoot him down. Use up all your bullets!” commanded Prosecutor Ye Yuyan.

Following the command of their superior another rain of bullets was fired but this time they didn’t stop until the forcefield completely disappeared. When they halted their attacks Doctor Shen longed to be covered in bullets. What was shocking about it is that his body would expel the bullet on its own and his body regenerates at a fast speed under everyone’s naked eyes.

“He is healing?! But how!?”

“Is he a monster? Maybe an alien?”

“What should we do next?”

Prosecutor Ye Yuyan looked at his wife seeking an answer but he only saw him shake his head.

“It is too late for him. What he had injected into himself is one of the most forbidden drugs on the black market. It could temporarily enhance his overall constitution whether it is his physical or mental strength but only for a short period of time.” said Hua Heiyu.

Officer Ying Wu said, “Where did he get it then? The black market is strictly unknown and he is only from a poor family.”

Prosecutor Ye Yuyan walked forwards and squatted down to Doctor Shen’s level. He could see him barely breathing and his skin started to dry up.

“Talk. Who gave you that drug? Don’t you know that its effects are deadly after use?” said Prosecutor Ye Yuyan.

Doctor Shen responded with disbelief in his eyes and said with broken words.

“N-No... Life saves... -ing. They... lied...”

“Tell me something about those people or men who gave you those drugs!? You are already dying, at least be useful at the end,” asked Prosecutor Ye Yuyan.

Coughing~

“Gah! Red... Tattoos... Flower... Drugs.” said Doctor Shen but he wasn’t saying it to Prosecutor Ye Yuyan but instead to the young lad in hoodies who stood behind the Prosecutor.

“I understand. Rest and repent in hell,” said Hua Heiyu.

Hearing his cruel words, the doctor couldn’t help but laugh. His laughter sounded hoarse yet happy until he finally took his last breath and his eyes turned lifeless. Leaving only a dry-up corpse on the cold and wet ground.

Silence descended in the area; only the sound of rain could be heard all around them. Prosecutor Ye Yuyan spoke when he saw Hua Heiyu’s feet getting wet from the rain. His bandaged feet were now soaking wet with even a little mud splashed on them.

Prosecutor Ye Yuyan suddenly carried Hua Heiyu in his arms and said with an ugly expression on his face while scolding Hua Heiyu.

“Don’t waste my money! How much do you think was wasted on treating those feet of yours? That’s why I told you to wait in the car.”

“Shut up! I’ll walk if I want to walk!” retorted Hua Heiyu.

Prosecutor Ye Yuyan said, “Talk back more and your dinner for today is gone!”

Hua Heiyu looked bullied as he glared at Prosecutor Ye Yuyan. For a foodie like him not being able to eat is the worst threat he can get.

Prosecutor Ye Yuyan ignored his glares and looked at Officer Ying Wu.

“I will leave the aftermath to you. Bring the next case tomorrow,” said Ye Yuyan.

Officer Ying wu saluted and said, “Understood, Prosecutor!”

Then the Prosecutor looked at Wei Lou and Jie Yun as if telling them to follow him but Jie Yun spoke out.

“I would like to visit Su-jie... I mean Ms. Su,” said Jie Yun.

Wei Lou nonchalantly said, “I will accompany this one to the hospital and return together.”

“Return before 11 pm,” said Prosecutor Ye Yuyan as he walked away carrying the pouting Hua Heiyu like a child in his arms.

Only when the two had left the scene that Officer Ying Wu commented,

“Don’t you think there is something weird going on with those two? They hate each other so much yet... Would sometimes care too much for each other? Am I seeing it wrong?”

Jie Yun glanced at him expressionlessly and said, “You are seeing things.”

“It looks to me like an adult coaxing a child to think. Anyway, Officer Ying Wu sent us to the hospital~” said Wei Lou.

Officer Ying Wu said, “Can you guys take a cab there instead? I’m busy.”

Wei Lou reached out a hand and said, “Sure. Lend me some cash~”

“Nevermind. I’ll send you there!!!” said Officer Ying Wu in anger.

He issued some orders to his subordinates to clean up the scene and go home early after they finished their tasks. He, on the other hand, had brought Wei Lou and Jie Yun to the hospital where Ms. Su was confined.

She was stressed this time and suffered from depression and insomnia. Plus, she is a pregnant lady. She needs a long and peaceful rest. But Ms. Su was extremely happy to see Jie Yun. Only afterward that Wei Lou and Officer Ying Wu that Ms. Su is from the same orphanage as Jie Yun and that they are siblings with different blood.
