Chapter 523 Gallo’s Pivotal Contribution Keeee!

The chakram continued to saw through the surface layers of the crossbow, eliciting countless cries of pain from Falls.

But, whenever he tried to harness his Luck to turn the situation into his favour, two the remaining two Martial Spirit forms of Ranze would turn into crossbows to rapidly fire arrows into Falls, thereby forcing the luck to be used on them instead.

Thanks to this, the chakram continued to grate through the crossbow—that Falls had transformed into—nonstop, accumulating damage onto it slowly but steadily.

Right as the crossbow turned to attack Ranze's crossbow, his third Martial Spirit form turned into a role and bound Falls—crossbow.

The rope prevented the crossbow from firing arrows any longer, continuing to bind it tighter and tighter.

Falls expanded and contracted the size of the crossbow he had transformed into but the rope always kept pace. From time to time, it was able to transform faster than him, showing that Ranze's accumulation in terms of Origin Essence manipulation was superior.

The rope constantly kept Falls trapped while the remaining two Martial Spirit forms of Ranze constantly attacked him in various ways. Now that he had a fair enough understanding of his opponent, Ranze changed his tactics, unleashing his greatest advantage—myriad weapon forms and Origin Arts.

But, despite him attacking nonstop, the injuries on Falls weren't accumulating as he had expected. After all, the crossbow—that Falls had transformed into—began to emanate a corrosive energy, affecting the rope binding it. Most of the attacks too lost their power, barely injuring it.

Falls was unable to gain an advantage over Ranze while Ranze had a small advantage over his opponent but wasn't able to capitalise on it completely.

Their battle ended up in a stalemate.

"Keuk!" Ranze grunted, feeling his body being rapidly corroded as he gritted, continuing to press forth with the attacks. As long as one of his three Martial Spirit forms was intact, he could easily consume Origin Essence and recreate the remaining two without any problems.

This was an advantage only Divine Martial Spirits possessed.

"Friend! I'll help you!" Suddenly, a shrill voice resounded before a beam of energy slammed into the three Martial Spirit forms of Ranze, rapidly healing all the injuries, also refilling some of his expended Origin Essence.

"Thanks, Gallo." Ranze smiled as he continued to engage with his opponent.

"Hehe, no mention." Gallo grinned sheepishly before running across the battlefield as he continued to transform into various people, vanishing from the view of the people that had been targeting him all along.

After all, he was the sole reason the peak powerhouses of the Gaider Realm survived the assassination attempts of Morlacle, Host to the Luck Exchange System, possessing the Heaven Martial Spirit of Wind Cloak, wielding the fusion material attribute of weightlessness.

And hence, he was like a spectre, constantly attacking the powerhouse of the Gaider Realm. Whenever someone from the Gaider Realm was about to win against their opponent, he would interfere, exchanging the luck of each other.

This would immediately allow the opponent to take advantage somehow and turn the situation around, forcing the Gaider Realm powerhouse into a corner.

But every time this happened, from out of nowhere, a beam of light would fall onto this cornered powerhouse, rapidly healing them to full power, allowing them to ignore the luck exchange and fight without hesitation.

And hence, Morlacle was raging nonstop. After all, Gallo wasn't just able to transform into living creatures, but also inanimate objects, including a random stone on the battlefield.

Basically, Gallo was like a strand of hay in a haystack. It was impossible to find him once he hides himself.

Compass Carburettor had invested heavily into Gallo, taking advantage of the Silly Luck that had become his innate luck. Every time he felt pity towards him, Gallo's luck became reinforced. It was not to mention him devising Origin Arts perfectly suited to his character, allowing him to heal his allies and hide away from enemies.

Facing Balmer were Lota and Bernata, gradually gaining an advantage after two months. After all, Morlacle constantly swapped the luck of Balmer with weaker individuals to cripple him.

But this was where his strength lay.

For an ant to survive against an elephant, it needed a tremendous amount of luck. But for an elephant to survive against an ant, it didn't need much luck.

Even if the ant were to crawl into the elephant's ear, a muscle spasm or some internally produced chemical can cripple the ant. Or even batter, the elephnt's ear wax can trap the ant. In the end, the elephant didn't require much luck to defend against an ant.

So for Balmer, the sole cultivator at the Extreme Providence Stage, even if his luck values were pulled to the utmost minimum, thanks to his strength, he gradually recovered his luck.

But in the cases when he was overwhelmed by the System Hosts before this happened, Gallo was there to rescue him, rapidly healing him to full health.

Even a healer with an Earth Martial Spirit was tremendously valuable, not to mention a healer with a Heaven Martial Spirit.

And at max cultivation, Gallo was able to even heal Balmer from near death state to full recovery in a couple of seconds.

This resulted in Lota and Bernata failing to kill Balmer from time to time. And that wasn't all.

For the shortest duration that Gallo revealed himself, his antics caused them to unconsciously break into laughter. Sometimes, it was just a smirk, but in their intense battle state, this too was a distraction.

He had pretty much become the sole reason the battle was dragging on for so long as Compass Carburettor had intended.

Though, from time to time, Gallo also healed the enemies. But, that didn't matter in the long run as those that were healed hesitated to attack the Gaider Realm. After all, they had been healed from a near-death state.

'Dammit, I'll find you and kill you, damn retard!' Morlacle raged in anger, frowning as he looked throughout the battlefield, dissipating with the wind as he continued to keep an eye on anything that moved or anyone that went around without an ounce of killing intent.

For only Gallo shared those traits.
