Chapter 56: The Common Sense

Using magic outside of the dungeon? Like hell he can do that.

A while later, Maika went out to prepare for something, and Tanaka went down to the lower floor to prepare some equipments that they’re going to use for diving into the 『Blue Dungeon』later.

There was only Kanzaki and Yuuma left in the office.

Kanzaki took out a decorated ashtray from inside his desk. Long time ago, it was some sort of decoration in the office but he had already forgotten about it.

「Yuuma」

「Yes!」

「Since you have ingested the magic gem, how about you try to use magic?」

「Eh? But magic should be unusable outside of the dungeon right? I do want to try it later in the 『Blue Dungeon』 but…」

Yuuma showed a troubled look on his face.

「Well, that’s natural I guess.」

Kanzaki then placed the fancy ashtray on Yuuma’s desk.

「This item is a specially made item that allows you to use magic around it. How about you try it out now?」

「Eh!? I have no idea that such wonderful item has been developed!」

Yuuma looked at the ashtray in awe. Naturally, the matter about the special item was a big fat lie. Such an item had never existed.

But still, Kanzaki felt that he still had to prove Aisha’s statement.

「As expected of a pro Explorer, they even have something like this.」

「Well that matter aside, I think you can start with conjuring a bit water for now.」

「Yes president!」

Without even a shred of doubt at Kanzaki, Yuuma tried to put more power into his arms as he raised a groan.

「Try to focus your magical power into the tip of your finger for now. You should be able to conjure a tiny water ball by doing so.」

「Fingertip huh, okay!」

This time, he stretched his index finger, focusing his power into it.

「Uuuh… it won’t come out…」

「Hahaha, well this is your first time after all. Worry not, it will be a lot easier once we’re inside of the dungeon!」

Kanzaki heaved a sigh of relief and returned to his desk as he confirmed that Yuuma couldn’t use magic.

Magic couldn’t be used outside of the dungeon. Kanzaki and his peers had already confirmed this matter when they tried to use magic outside of the dungeon.

The result of their trial was negative, no one among them could use magic outside of the dungeon.

It was already impossible even in the vicinity of the dungeon’s entrance. Magic could only be used after they’re completely inside of the dungeon.

Later on, there was a clarification of this matter, the fact that magic could be used inside the dungeon was because it was brimming with 『Mana』, that’s why magic couldn’t be used outside of the dungeon which lacked mana.

『Magic can’t be used outside of the dungeon.』

That was another widely known common sense in the world after the appearance of the dungeon.

Yuuma being able to use magic on the ground far from the dungeon would literally overturn common sense.

Kanzaki wondered if Aisha had actually forgotten such common sense.

「Ah!」

Kanzaki turned around as he heard that loud shout, and saw Yuuma’s eyes open wide.

Just when he wondered what was the matter, he saw the thing appear on Yuuma’s fingertip.

「President, I did it! I conjured a water ball!!」

A small water ball DID appear on Yuuma’s fingertip. Although the size was really small, it didn’t change the fact that Yuuma just used magic outside of the dungeon.

It was a phenomenon that no one had ever heard of or saw before.

The universally acclaimed common sense just got destroyed right before his eyes.

The afternoon of that day, Kanzaki drove his car straight toward Aisha’s laboratory.

「OI!! AISHA!!」

He threw his manner aside and rudely opened the door. Aisha was currently leaning on her chair, massaging her glabella.

「HE REALLY CAN USE MAGIC!! WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW!?」

「… I’ve told you right, that man is an aberration.」

「W-What should I do now? Such a gargantuan mana index will spark a war between companies!」

Many big companies were nurturing their personnel to have “Colorless Mana” as much as possible to allow them to use 『White Magic』.

But, raising the mana index for someone who couldn’t fight wasn’t an easy job, that was the main source of trouble for every company.

「Fool, how can it be that simple? Do you think it’s gonna end with something as simple as a battle between companies? Let me to tell you then that this matter can potentially trigger another world war.」

Aisha laughs scornfully.

「Try to think about it carefully. We’re talking about 460k mana indexes, you know? With that much mana index, he can literally use all the highest-grade magic gems, the “Diamond”. As much as he can on top of that.」

Kanzaki scratched his head. He had no idea what he had to do since he never expected that his new employee who was rejected by every company aside from him was in fact mankind’s absolutely strongest Explorer.

「This is beyond what I expected. I mean, the person himself only wants to make money as an ordinary Explorer…」

「Too bad then, you have another matter to worry about.」

「Seriously!?」

「Yup, this matter is even bigger trouble for you.」
