Chapter 55: Aberration

Though Aisha looked serious, Kenzaki had yet to be able to accept the reality.

「Oi, are you serious?」

「I am.」

「I know that your ability as a scholar is top notch, even according to world standards, but that remark just now sounds too good to be true. Your measuring tool might be broken. If that’s the case, worry not, I’ll be back after you repaired the tool!」

「Wait!」 Said Aisha, she stopped Kanzaki who was about to leave. When Kanzaki stopped and turned around, he saw Aisha looking at him.

「Let me ask you something.」

Aisha walked closer toward Kanzaki with unstoppable momentum, and grabbed him by his collar as soon as she arrived in front of him.

「FROM WHERE DID YOU BRING THAT ABERRATION!!」

「Aberration!?」

Kanzaki unfastens Aisha’s hands from his collar, and then heaves a sigh.

「HAH! How dare you say that! This is so fu*cking stupid that my intoxication vanished right away.」

Kanzaki opened the door right away and left.

「Kotaro.」

「What now!? Do you still have something to say? Just to be sure, I don’t wany to to hear another stupid joke again!!」

Aisha let out a light smile when Kanzaki said those remarks.

「Well, I guess it’s only natural that you won’t believe it. I actually feel the same, this is just absurd.」

「Of course it is! Who in the world gonna believe such absurd story!!」

「Since that’s the case, let Mitaka-kun use magic.」

「Ah?」

「He has such a gargantuan amount of mana. His mana should’ve overflowed outside of his body. When that happen, he should be able to use magic outside of the dungeon.」

「Humph! What a joke.」

Kanzaki closed the door and left the room.

Kanzaki, who had finally arrived at his home the next morning, fell asleep immediately till the evening and only took a bath after he woke up.

After spending his time for a while doing nothing in particular, Maika who finished cooking the dinner called out to him.

Though Maika asked 「What did you do yesterday?」 or 「Did something happen?」Kanzaki only gave vague replies.

That night, he slept with various kinds of worries in his head.

The next morning, Yuuma had arrived for his work just as he enjoyed his cigarette on his desk.

「Good morni~ng.」

After exchanging greetings with Tanaka and Maika, Yuuma came to Kanzaki.

「Good morning, President.」

「Oh, morning.」

Yuuma then placed his luggage into the locker before sitting in his chair. A while later, he already chatted with Tanaka, whose desk was beside him.

Kanzaki was sitting in his chair, reading the newspaper.

But, none of the content of the news in the newspaper entered his head. Though Aisha’s remark sounds like impossible, he couldn’t help but be curious about it.

Kanzaki stood from his chair―― Finally decided to test it out.

「Yuuma.」

「Yes!」

「You still remember that we went to measure your “Mana” at Aisha’s laboratory few days ago, right?」

「Ah, yes, we did that.」

「She contacted me, telling me that the result has come out. The result is, you have mana.」

「EEH!? Really?」

Yuuma’s eyes opened wide due to shock. Tanaka who sat beside him was also smiling when he heard the result.

「You did it, Yuuma-kun! That’s truly a relief.」

「As expected, I mean, not having mana after all of those monster that you killed is really strange after all.」

Maika had come to congratulate Yuuma too. Everyone in the company was actually worrying about Yuuma.

「You’ll hear about the details from her later, the most important thing is, you have no need to worry about not having mana anymore.」

「I see… So that means the total amount of my mana has yet to be calculated.」

「Well, we’ll know about that soon enough. Maika, bring me that.」

「Ah, right away!」

Maika went to the safebox at the corner of the office, turning the dial to unlock it. And then took out a small metal case from inside the box.

「There you go, President.」

The case given by Maika had a lustrous black color, and upon opening it, Yuuma found a lot of “Magic Gem” inside of it.

It was filled with glittering 『Blue Magic Gem』.

「Maika, what’s your estimation about Yuuma’s current mana index?」

「Uhm, considering the number of monster he subjugated so far, I can say that he have more than 10.」

「I see.」

Kanzaki then took one of the gems from inside the box.

「Yuuma, this is 『Iolite』, magic gem of one carat. Its mana index is 10. Try to eat this one for now.」

「Eh!!? Are you sure?」

Seeing the shocked Yuuma, Tanaka who sat beside him explained to him.

「Yuuma-kun, this is one of the welfare program of the company.」

「Welfare program?」

「Reward outside of your salary. Especially the 『Magic Gem』, it’s needed for your job after all. No need to worry, just take it.」

「I see.」

Seeing the president nodded in agreement, Yuuma took the magic gem as he thanked the former.

After Maika wiped the magic gem with wet tissue, Yuuma swallowed the “Iolite” with a cup of water he got from Maika.

「How do you feel?」

If the AIsha’s measuring tool was really broken, the result would be Yuuma had no mana at all.

Even if Yuuma had no mana, it wouldn’t be a big deal since the gem would be excreted out of the body but, the moment he thought about that…

「Ah! I feel the heat in my abdomen.」

「Yup, that’s the sign that your body has taken in the power of the magic gem. That’s a relief right, Yuuma-kun.」

Tanaka felt equally delighted.

Maika also heaved a sigh of relief. But, Kanzaki felt worried instead of relieved.

Aisha is right, Yuuma had “Mana”.

『Let Mitaka use magic.』

Suddenly, Aisha’s last remark echoed in his head many times over.
