Chapter 151 - 151 Arrest And Closing The Case

151 Arrest And Closing The Case

Shen Yin drove Hu Jin back to the police station. Hu Jin was seated in the backseat, in between Zou Sheng and Meng Heng. He scolded unhappily, “What are you police officers thinking? My wife was killed. Instead of catching the murderer, you caught me instead. Are you crazy?”

Shen Yin looked at the eloquent Hu Jin in the rearview mirror and suddenly smiled. “We’ve just caught him.”

Hu Jin continued to play dumb. “What? You caught my wife’s murderer? That’s great! So you’re bringing me to see who the murderer is?”

Meng Heng sneered. “When you get to the police station, you’ll naturally find out who the murderer is.”

Hu Jin shut his mouth. He was so nervous that his palms were sweating.

When they arrived at the police station, Meng Heng dragged him out of the car and brought him into the interrogation room. Cold handcuffs secured him to the chair in the interrogation room.

Hu Jin immediately panicked. His voice subconsciously became louder as he asked in shock, “What do you mean by this? Aren’t you bringing me to see my wife’s murderer? Why are you arresting me?!”

Shen Yin stood outside the interrogation room and suggested to Wu Zheng that she interrogate Hu Jin personally.

Wu Zheng knew that she was still brooding over this case, so he nodded and led his men out to observe.

Shen Yin walked into the interrogation room and frowned, pretending to be irritated as she threw a stack of photos at Hu Jin. “Take a look. You and Wang Gang were university classmates?”

“That’s right. Is it illegal for us to be university classmates?” Hu Jin glared and retorted stubbornly.

Shen Yin threw another copy of Teacher Zhao Mei’s statement in front of Hu Jin. “Wang Gang harassed your wife when she first started teaching at Experimental Elementary School and even tried to rape her. Do you know about this?”

“I didn’t know.” The dignity that Hu Jin had shown when he first visited the police station was gone. At the moment, he was sitting in the interrogation room with his eyes bulging. It was impossible to tell that this person was the President of a company. He looked more like a local hooligan.

Hu Jin held up the statement in shock. After reading it for a while, he slammed the table and said angrily, “Wang Gang must have killed my wife! Arrest him quickly. It’s him!”

“Calm down,” Shen Yin said slowly. “Tell us first, why did you buy a plane ticket to fly overseas? Why did you try to run away?”

“I…” Hu Jin stammered. “It’s for business. I need to discuss a project! Do I have to report this to you?”

“Is that so?” Shen Yin said slowly, “But as far as we know, your company doesn’t have any business dealings with foreign countries. Your wife just passed away, and you’re already in a hurry to go overseas to expand your business?”

She threw a bank card in front of Hu Jin. “Do you recognize this card? We discovered that you use this card to deposit money into your account every month.”

Hu Jin picked up the bank card in the evidence bag and shouted angrily, “How dare you search my house without my permission! You’re trespassing! I want a lawyer, I want to hire a lawyer! I want to sue you!”

“Don’t waste your energy, Hu Jin.” Shen Yin sneered at him, her lips curling into a mocking smile. “Can you guess how we knew about the existence of this bank card?”

Hu Jin’s grew more and more flustered. He gulped and rubbed his hands repeatedly, his eyes darting around uneasily.

Shen Yin deliberately gave him enough time to let his imagination run wild before slowly giving him the answer he was most afraid of. Her eyes were like a hawk as she stared fixedly at Hu Jin. Her voice was icy cold. “We knew because Wang Gang told us.”

“This… this card.” Hu Jin gulped. His Adam’s apple bobbed up and down nervously. His eyes stared blankly at the table. “It’s just an ordinary bank card. It doesn’t mean anything.”

“It’s not that ordinary, Hu Jin.” Shen Yin took out the most crucial piece of evidence, a video that was found in Wang Gang’s house.

In the video, Wang Gang appeared at Hu Jin and Tan Li’s house. Just like every other time, he smoothly handed the agreed amount of cash to Hu Jin. After Hu Jin left, Wang Gang took off his clothes and violated Tan Li, who was lying on the bed unresponsively.

“You and Wang Gang knew each other from the beginning. Wang Gang failed to rape Tan Li, so he conspired with you. He promised you money and asked you to use the blind date to get close to Tan Li so that you could collude with him. You lured a wolf into your house and drugged Tan Li. You let someone violate your wife in your own house for the sake of profit!” Shen Yin glared murderously at the man who was obviously at a loss.

He had not expected Wang Gang to leave such incriminating evidence.

Hu Jin collapsed dejectedly into his chair and shook his head with a bitter smile. “Since you know everything, why are you still interrogating me?”

Shen Yin calmed herself down and said slowly, “You removed Tan Li’s organs to destroy any residual drug that might be in her stomach, and…”

Shen Yin paused and lowered her eyes. “You weren’t sure whose child Tan Li was carrying, so you developed this evil plan to use this child to earn one last huge sum of money. Where is the child now?”
