74 Warmth

As soon as they got into the car, Zhong Xin received a frosty glare from President Lian, who was sitting in the back seat. He nudged the chauffeur discreetly and the two of them waited outside the car, out of Lian Jing’s line of sight.

Shen Yin looked at him in surprise. “Aren’t we going back?”

Lian Jing’s cold eyes landed on her and his tone was emotionless. “Where did you get this outfit?”

“Uh…” Shen Yin’s lips twitched. She had not expected him to send his men away just to ask her about this! Wasn’t he interested in Yun Shan, the female celebrity involved in today’s incident?

“The surveillance footage near the washroom was deleted. Who helped you?” Lian Jing narrowed his eyes and his expression was a little dangerous, as if Shen Yin would face very serious consequences if she did not tell the truth.

Shen Yin lowered her head and pondered for a moment. Her conscience would not allow her to reveal Cheng Huo’s identity. Although she did not know what Cheng Huo’s motive was, he had just helped her. She really could not be so spineless as to turn him over to Lian Jing now.

Shen Yin batted her eyes and pretended to be innocent. “I really don’t know about the surveillance cameras. I found this outfit in the changing room so I just put it on. I couldn’t possibly appear in public wearing Yun Shan’s clothes, right? Wouldn’t that be asking for trouble?”

Lian Jing looked a little more cheerful. He pinched her chin playfully and used his big hand to swipe at her face that was bare of makeup. He felt his fingers sliding down her delicate skin and said meaningfully, “Aren’t you already in a lot of trouble?”

“That’s right. Ever since I got to know President Lian, I’ve really had an endless amount of trouble!” Shen Yin brushed his hand away angrily. If she had not smelt the drug in the wine today and been more careful, she would be the one to suffering the calamity!

Shen Yin trembled with rage at the thought of Yun Shan’s methods. Six years ago, she had drugged Shen Nian and let a strange man ruin her. Six years later, she tried to use the same trick to push her into the abyss again.

She heaved a long sigh of relief, but her eyes were filled with rage. Yun Shan had brought this upon herself. However, she was the one who ruined Lian Jing’s birthday banquet. Now that the host was sitting beside her, she felt a little guilty.

Before she could soften her tone and say something nice to Lian Jing, the tall figure beside her suddenly pressed against her and kissed her lips repeatedly.

Shen Yin’s guilt completely dissipated. She could not fight this strong adult man, so she was forced to viciously bite his lips.

She only snapped out of her smug reverie when blood flowed into her mouth. She hurriedly loosened her grip and looked at Lian Jing innocently.

Why didn’t he dodge? Why did he let her continue biting him?

“Have you vented your anger?” Lian Jing stared at her small mouth. It was hard to tell if he was happy or angry.

Shen Yin was stunned. She suddenly realized that he had let her bite him to vent her anger. Her face suddenly turned red, and she shrank into a corner in a panic. Even her voice trembled slightly. “Alright, I’ve vented my anger. Let’s go home.”

Lian Jing was in a surprisingly good mood. He summoned the two men, and the car quickly drove back to the Lian family’s main residence.

It was late at night, but the Lian residence was brightly lit.

“Dad, Mom, you’re back!” Shen Nian and the Old Master were setting off fireworks in the courtyard. When he saw them, he took out the party hat that he had personally folded and raised his arm to pass it to Lian Jing.

Shen Nian wanted to personally put it on Lian Jing, but he was too short and could not reach Lian Jing’s shoulders even if he stretched out his arms. He pouted and let Lian Jing put it on himself.

To his surprise, Lian Jing squatted down to meet the boy’s gaze He allowed Shen Nian to secure the party hat on his head, messing up his hair in the process.

Shen Nian immediately beamed with joy. He hugged Lian Jing’s shoulders and kissed his cheek before holding Shen Yin’s hand happily. “Mom, what gift did you buy for Dad?”

Lian Jing looked over with a burning gaze. Shen Yin lowered her head shyly and said, “I’ll go upstairs to get it.” Then, she hurriedly walked to the room, not daring to look back at this mischievous father and son.

At the banquet, Grandpa Lian happily poured Shen Yin a glass of fine wine that he had saving for many years. He said excitedly, “I’ve lived for so long, but I’ve never been so happy. All of this is because of you, Yin Yin. Lian Jing’s greatest blessing is to have met you.”

Shen Yin looked slightly tipsy, but her expression was exceptionally clear and sincere. “Grandpa, it was a blessing for me to have met you and Nian Nian.”
