Guidance

“Hmph. Her?” Yun Shan rolled her eyes and turned to walk ahead, completely disregarding Shen Yin. “She’s just an abandoned dog.”

The junior assistant gasped and glanced fearfully at Shen Yin, who stood behind her, smiling. She quickly clasped her hands together and bowed in silent apology before hurriedly catching up with Yun Shan and carefully shadowing her.

“Sister, where have you been? I’ve finally found you.” Meng Heng was sweating profusely as he ran towards Shen Yin. He handed her a stack of documents. “There’s a new development in the case. Sister, do you want to see it?”

“I’ll take a look at it later. Put it on my desk.” She pursed her mouth at Yun Shan, who had stopped and twisted around to stare at Meng Heng. “I’m still busy here.”

“Alright.” Meng Heng did not even look at Yun Shan. He had a high nose, and his large eyes were filled with disappointment. The documents in his hand were already crumpled from his tight grip. “Sister, please go ahead. I’ll go back.”

Meng Heng had just emerged from the interrogation room and had not yet heard that a celebrity was visiting the police station. He hurriedly handed the compiled dossier to Shen Yin.

Actually, Shen Yin had already done her duty as a forensic pathologist. It did not matter if she read the case file or not, but Meng Heng just wanted to give it to her. He could not explain why either.

“Shen Yin, you’re pretty good. Have you started robbing the cradle?” Yun Shan walked over and stared at Meng Heng’s back with interest. She said with evilly, “He doesn’t know that you’re a divorced woman, right?”

“It doesn’t matter if he knows. Unlike you, I don’t spread my legs whenever I see a man.” Shen Yin led the way to the autopsy room without even a backward glance.

Behind her, Yun Shan ground her teeth.

Damn Shen Yin, how dare she say such a thing in front of her assistant!

She glared at the junior assistant, who lowered her head timidly and pretended to be deaf.

In fact, she was very surprised. This female forensic pathologist looked beautiful and serious. The assistant had not expected her to have such a ruthless tongue. She had been Yun Shan’s assistant for so many years, but this was the first time she had seen Yun Shan at a loss for words.

Shen Yin first led Yun Shan through the complete disinfection protocol. As they disinfected themselves, Yun Shan expressed her impatience many times, but Shen Yin ignored her expressionlessly. Yun Shan could not get a rise out of her, so she obeyed quietly. However, she still looked distracted.

“Let me demonstrate first.” Shen Yin pushed open the door to the autopsy room and pointed at the corpse Wang Sheng had placed on the autopsy table. “Watch carefully.”

“Ugh.” The junior assistant could not take it anymore and ran to the trash can to throw up. Yun Shan’s stomach was already churning, but she managed to hold it in.

“We’re here to learn too.” Wang Sheng brought Zheng Ling and Han Xu into the autopsy room and said with a smile, “It’s the first time the chief is personally guiding us. How can we miss it?”

“Yes, yes.” Zheng Ling moved closer to Shen Yin. “Boss, let’s start. I can’t wait.”

Shen Yin smiled and adroitly picked up the scalpel. The sharp blade cut through the skin of the corpse, revealing the bright yellow fat inside.

The smell of blood instantly assaulted their nostrils. Fat gradually bloomed along the cut left by the blade.

Yun Shan’s face turned pale. She looked at Shen Yin in disbelief. When had she become so cold-blooded?

Yun Shan staggered and grabbed the edge of the autopsy table. As everyone gazed at her in surprise, she quickly forced herself to stand up straight.

“I’m sorry. I was distracted.” She waved away the stares of the forensic pathologists.

Zheng Ling immediately smiled in surprise and said, “This must be the actress, Yun Shan, who is here at the station to observe! You didn’t even vomit at your first autopsy. You’re tougher than I expected!”

Yun Shan smiled awkwardly and averted her eyes, trying not to look at the terrifying corpse lying on the cold platform, waiting to be dissected.

Shen Yin ignored her. She just wanted to use this opportunity to send Yun Shan a clear message that she was not to be provoked. She did not really want to make things difficult for Yun Shan.

She was completely focused on the body under her hands. Her clever hands holding the scalpel flew over the body. It did not take long for her to dissect the entire abdominal cavity and turn to the chest cavity.

She switched to another sharp knife and aimed at the sternoclavicular joint at the side of the corpse. Her technique was so smooth that it was as if she was cutting through a cake. She cut through the ribs smoothly, leaving the onlookers dumbfounded.
