Chapter 14 - Former Dong Jiajia

Gu Lin's thoughts were meticulous and he noticed Ying Yue's nervousness. He patted her head with a smile and said, "Grandfather is not a big tiger, what are you afraid of?"

That's right, there was no need to be nervous about why everyone was being so cordial towards her.

Ying Yue smiled as well. It wasn't that she was nervous, it was more like she was envious of Gu Lin. Gu Lin seemed to be favored by the heavens as all of his beauty descended onto him.

Walking out of the living room, they found a courtyard that was connected to the villa, which was several times bigger than the villa. Other than flower beds, there were also a few tall oaks and grape arbors.

Ying Yue looked on in amazement. One must know that this place was a plot of land worth less than an inch of gold. In the end, all of it had been used to serve these plants.

Gu Lin led her to the grape arbour. An old man with a head full of white hair was peacefully lying down on an armchair with his eyes slightly closed. He seemed to be completely oblivious to everything that was happening outside the window.

"Grandfather, I've brought Ying Yue here."

Gu Lin stood in front of Grandpa Gu and said in a low voice. In front of Grandpa Gu, he removed his overbearing tone of voice as a lawyer, reverting back to his obedient grandson look.

Grandpa Gu opened his eyes and sat up. Although he was old, his body was still very sturdy.

"Yueyue is here."

He looked at Ying Yue and sized her up. His tone was not as warm as the other three, and it was much colder.

"Alright, A Lin, you can go back first. I have something to say to her."

Grandpa Gu said to Gu Lin as he sat up and replaced the reading glasses on his head.

Maybe the Grandpa Gu had always had this kind of personality, so Gu Lin didn't have any objections. He nodded towards Ying Yue and turned to leave.

Although Ying Yue wasn't very familiar with Gu Lin, a man she had met a few times before; Gu Lin's departure, however, made her feel very uneasy. She was one of the top ranked journalists in the magazine and could easily handle all the difficult interviewers.

"Miss Ying, I would like to ask how you and A Lin met each other."

It seemed that only the Grandpa Gu knew the truth.

"We met in the hotel lobby."

Ying Yue quickly turned her head and the little person in her mind told her that the old grandpa in front of her was not easy to fool. She decided to speak the truth.

"How long have you known each other?"

Grandpa Gu looked at her and continued to ask, his tone still foreign and polite.

"Including today, it's been five days."

"What!"

Grandpa Gu suddenly stood up and roared. The grape leaves on the grape arbor also shook a few times due to his angry roar.

"Nonsense, you bunch of young people …" "What nonsense!"

Grandpa Gu looked at her and roared, then walked towards the house. He wanted to settle the score with Gu Lin, even though his family had always been nagging about his marriage, he couldn't be so casual.

Ying Yue's tongue twitched as she followed behind Grandpa Gu. Forget about Grandpa Gu being unable to accept it, even she might not be able to accept it.

But it just happened.

"Gu Lin, you stinking kid, come over here!"

Although the old tutor was old, he was still full of spirit and vigor.

Gu Lin sat in front of the glass tea table near the window, holding the documents he had just brought back from outside. Hearing the old man's voice, he paused for a moment before putting down the documents in his hands.

"Follow me to the study room. Miss Ying will also come with me."

Grandpa Gu suppressed his anger and brought the two to the study room and personally locked the door before walking over to Gu Lin and saying angrily, "Since young, no matter how much my family forced you, you can't treat the marriage as child's play."

"This is not child's play, I would never do something that is child's play."

Gu Lin wasn't as flustered and exasperated as his grandfather. He knew exactly what he was doing.

"Five days. You've known each other for five days."

Grandpa Gu had lived for most of his life, and he had seen all sorts of storms and waves, but this grandson always had a way to shock him and make him jump like thunder.

"It was actually two days."

Gu Lin had corrected Ying Yue's mistake. When they had received the certificate, they had only known each other for two days and had only met twice.

"Two..."

Grandpa Gu was so angry that he covered his heart. He felt that even if Gu Lin didn't have a heart attack, he would still be angered to the point of having a heart attack.

Ying Yue stood at the side, innocently puffing out her cheeks. This was Gu Lin's family matter and it had nothing to do with her, but if Grandpa Gu really had a heart attack, she would probably need his help in calling for help.

"Grandfather, I know what I am doing. I will also play the role of a husband, so let's just set it as that …"

As he spoke, Gu Lin reached out and pulled Ying Yue's hand, putting his arm around her shoulders to prove that he wasn't joking.

Grandpa Gu watched as Gu Lin grew up, and he was very clear about this grandson's personality. Ever since that incident, his grandson had become even more silent, as if he had forgotten what he was laughing for.

He did not wish for Gu Lin to marry Ying Yue because he wanted to forget that his response to her would be too unfair.

"A Lin, you promise me, did you really forget about Jiajia?"

Ying Yue abruptly raised her head and looked at Gu Lin's calm face.

Who was Jiajia?
