Chapter 195 Bring Forth Our Guest!

Seeing this, Amon rushes across the open space between buildings jumping onto the other side without hesitation. Unfortunately, one of the men noticed him and shouted drawing the others over.

'Fuck this!' Cursing silently, he tries desperately to hide inside an alleyway only to be spotted by the second group of cloaked individuals.

'I don't deserve this treatment!' His mind screams angrily, feeling betrayed by fate itself.

This had only fueled his motivation to meet with lord Hisha, if he could tell what he had seen, it would be an added advantage he could use in his favor.

As if reading his thought process, the first set of masked men approaches the entrance of the narrow passage forcing Amon to jump back just barely avoiding getting caught.

Once again, he jumps upwards landing atop another building that happens to have a flat roof. The same thing happened twice more resulting in several angry voices echoing throughout the vicinity.

Finally, he manages to get far enough away from both groups allowing him to breathe easier now that he knows it won't happen anymore.

Looking downwards, he watches the soldiers move along the walls checking every nook and cranny possible. Eventually, they leave the area giving him hope things will calm down eventually and the chances of those vampires on his trail would be something he wouldn't miss for anything.

It doesn't take too long before the sounds of footsteps fade away signaling the end of his chase.

His face beams at the sight of the citadel looming ahead. As expected, the outer perimeter has already closed off due to curfew hours being enforced. Only authorized personnel may enter or exit during these times.

Hoping beyond all hopes, he decides not to go through the front door but instead makes use of the secret tunnel connecting the citadel directly underneath its grounds. This way, he can avoid any unnecessary trouble.

'It would seem Zin was right about what she had said.' Amon smiles as he remembers her warning regarding the complexity of infiltrating the citadel.

He didn't care because he knew deep down inside he couldn't let such an opportunity pass him by regardless of whatever risks involved.

However, upon entering the underground passageway, he finds out how wrong he was. For right outside the hidden entry point lies a large contingent of soldiers waiting patiently for anyone who dares come close.

'What the heck was I thinking?!' He exclaims frustratedly knowing full well he should've listened when Zin had advised that he could have used the items and gotten preferential access into the citadel.

Instead, he chose to ignore everything and went after his reasoning with his mind condemning him, 'now look where you ended up? In danger of your life! What are you going to do now?'

The sound of boots marching forward echoes within the dark corridor making him cringe nervously fearing for his life.

Chang!

He sees a spear impale into the floor beside him sending shivers coursing through his body. Instantly, he grabs hold of the weapon pulling it towards him ready to defend against further attacks.

In the throne hall,

Hisha slouches in his chair staring blankly at the ceiling. A small smile forms on his lips seeing a middle-aged man beaten black and blue lying unconscious on the floor.

"My lord, what should we do to him?" One of the soldiers asks, concerned looking around trying to find some sort of solution. "Should we kill him immediately so he cannot cause us problems later on."

Hisha stares at the body and lets out a laugh in disbelief. "Cause a problem for me?" Hisha's laughs sarcastically, shaking his head.

The soldiers look disturbed by his behavior, gulping and their lips were drawn in a thin line.

After taking a moment to compose himself, Hisha continued speaking, his voice suddenly switched cold and sinister. "No, there isn't much need to worry yourself over this matter. Kill him!"

He gives a nod to one of the soldiers standing behind him.

Slash!

The soldier swings his sword cutting deeply into the neck of the victim. Blood spurts everywhere.

[That was brutal, host]

HTC teases with grinning emoji.

Watching his carnage level increase, he couldn't help but smirk in satisfaction, completely ignoring HTC's teasing tone.

'That should teach anyone who dares to try to infiltrate my territory,' he thinks happily watching blood spread in a puddle beneath the corpse.

[No matter the warning, host, they will still keep trying]

The soldiers bow respectfully toward Hisha.

'If this keeps up, I'm bound to get what I want eventually.' Hisha smiles at the hint of hope.

They all turn to leave while one drags out the dead body, leaving trails of blood as what was left of the corpse is carried away.

"My lord," one of the soldiers says, stopping abruptly and turning back to face Hisha's direction.

Understanding what was coming next, Hisha nods and leans on his steepled fingers resting them above his chin.

"Bring forth our guest." He orders.

Inside the dungeon,

Amon is sitting cross-legged on the cold hard wooden bedding trying his best to stay awake even though sleepiness threatens to overtake him. His eyes stare vacantly at nothingness, unable to focus properly. It feels like someone poured sand onto an open wound causing excruciating pain whenever he moves.

Condemning his actions from earlier today, he curses under his breath wishing he hadn't done what he did back at the underground tunnel. However, he quickly realizes no amount of regret will change the fact that he decided to act without considering the consequences.

Creak!

He rushes toward the bars, holding onto them and desperately hoping to see something other than darkness. The only thing visible were four glowing gray orbs floating a few inches above the ground and several inches apart. They're still connected through a stream of light flowing between each orb creating a web of energy that connects them all forming a square.

It had been placed to prevent him from changing into a vampire bat and escaping.

As if sensing his presence, the lights begin blinking rapidly. With trembling hands, he reaches out grabbing tightly onto both sides of the bar feeling its rough surface digging painfully into his palms.

His heart pounds wildly beating faster and harder every second passing by until finally, the first orb begins flashing red followed closely thereafter by another two. Then three more before ending off with the last remaining gray ball turning red.

Zzzttt!

"Ahhhhh!" He yells in pain as his hands were razed with fire, causing him to fall backward and land flat on his rear end.

The sounds of claps echo throughout the room along with laughter echoing inside Amon's ears.

Looking down at his hand, he can feel blisters starting to form all across his palm. Looking up again, he notices a figure approach while laughing hysterically at his expense.

'Show your face, you piece of shit!'

With anger boiling deep within his veins, he stands slowly rising to his feet and facing the person approaching.

Infusing Sux into the orbs, the dungeon brightens instantly, illuminating the entire area surrounding him.

Standing tall and proud, was Kritz as his intimidating aura filled the air.

Upon seeing who it was, Amon lets out a yelp in surprise jumping backward and falling once more upon landing heavily hitting his tailbone making him grunt loudly.

Kritz chuckles, amused by his reaction. "For someone who tried to attack our soldiers, I would have thought you'd be able to stand against such little resistance."

Sighing angrily, Amon looks away not wanting to meet his gaze, and instead pleads for help, "I apologize for attacking those men; however, please I need to soak with lord Hisha."

Shaking his head, Kritz replies, "You are lucky enough that we haven't killed you yet or else you wouldn't get any mercy whatsoever."

Gulp!

Tears welled up in his eyes threatening to spill over while he cried out, "please don't kill me, that's the reason I came here in the first place."

Kritz raises a brow to the excuse, thinking he is making things up. "What would you call a vampire caught and apprehended in our underground tunnel? The one who tries to engage with our soldiers and thinks he can escape this dungeon?"
