Chapter 10 Atone For Your Transgression

'What the heck?!' Hisha hissed in his thoughts, leaning forward to the sight before him.

[Do not intervene! As someone with a status like yours, this is something you need to get used to eventually]

HTC's cold voice forced Hisha's body to stiffen and prevent him from acting on impulse.

'You don't just kill a man that has valuable information!' Hisha growled, angered that his system held him back.

If he could intervene, it would give Frich enough time to heal with his merfolk magic.

[This is the retribution he gets for going against you and joining the wrong side]

HTC hissed at Hisha when it felt him trying to go against his program.

'I don't care about him, what I care about is the information he possesses.' Hisha protested, slowly breaking HTC's hold on his body by moving his fingers.

[Don't you see the logic here, host?! If he knows and was attacked by another tribal chief, don't you ever sit to think that Wae and the others are all part of one big scheme?]

Hisha's eyes widened in shock to the information that was gradually sinking in.

Gritting his teeth, he let out a sigh as he gave up his initial protest, feeling his body ease up the moment he stopped fighting it.

[Now, enjoy the show]

HTC snickered in a peal of crazed laughter right after putting up a devil emoji.

Blue blood seeped from Frich's wound and trailed down his body onto the floor.

Tip!

Tap!

"You talk too much, this is why I am meant to be the representative." Wae hissed behind Frich, careful of his tone. "Your brother would take good care of the tribe."

'No! Not him!' Frich cried in his thoughts to the news of his tyrannical twin brother taking over his position.

Frich's vision went blurry as tears filled his eyes, forming a pearl and dropping to the ground in tiny droplets.

Biting the pain was barely an option as agonizing cramps seemed to crush his insides from within.

He couldn't move his body, not while his blood had been corrupted with the poison-coated claws of Wae.

Cold shivers shot through his body and both hands and legs trembled slightly. He closed his eyes and tried to relax his muscles, to heal himself of the fatal wound to his chest.

The other tribal chiefs took several steps back and away from the bloody scene before them. The only one crazy enough to do this in front of their lord would be none other than Wae.

"My lord, Wae is a tr..."

Slash!

Wae's protruding claws fluidly slashed on Frich's neck, underneath his claws had part of Frich's flesh lodged.

Frich spurt out blood from his mouth, the open flesh wound contracting and dripping with blood, stopping him from speaking any more words.

The amount of damage he had gotten from the poisoned sneak attack was too much for his body to bear.

His pupils turned a pale white with his lips darkened to a shade of navy blue.

Hisha gulped, quelling down his anger as he watched. They were barbaric creatures that he would need to get accustomed to.

'To tame the crazy, one would need to be equally crazy.' Hisha lectured himself, making a vow not to be moved by such scenes in the future.

These tribal chiefs had officially become part of his shit list–a target for extermination, right after he got all the information he needed from them in the future.

Pulling back his hand, he ripped out Frich's hand and kicked the body off the mezzanine.

Hisha raised his hand suspending the blood from splashing on him and Kritz.

Kritz had his fangs out, a low growl could be heard from him. He was itching to attack these tribal chiefs who were up to no good.

He would blame himself for interrupting his lord to meet with these treacherous people.

Hisha could feel Kritz's urge to attack, but today was the day that he would put them in check even if it was for a while.

He had realized the host had rarely shown his strength amid his supposed trustees.

'Never again will this happen.' Hisha boiled with rage while he narrowed his eyes at Wae.

Wae had a satisfying smirk on his lips. "My lord, the despicable tr–"

His words were cut short by a pull forcing him towards the throne.

In a blink of an eye, his neck was gripped by Hisha.

[Ability: Telekinesis]

Hisha's smile only broadened the moment he saw the horrified look on Wae.

Slamming him into the floor in a quick motion, bits of the flooring flew into the air.

Wae coughed out blood and his body arched in response.

Hisha placed his right foot on Wae's chest, his arm on his thighs as he stared down at him. "Who said I authorized that magnificent show you performed earlier?"

Wae's body shook, and his teeth clattered as he tried to come up with an excuse.

Tut!

Tut!

Tut!

Hisha clicked his tongue and shook his head in disappointment at how pathetically weak Wae was in comparison to him. It felt as though he was fighting with a rag doll.

He wondered if this body had been so tired of comparing everything he went up against that he left all the dirty work to his butler–Kritz.

'The boring life of an overpowered immortal overlord.' Hisha internally facepalmed at how the fight didn't thrill him as much as he wanted it to be.

[Your life was boring anyway, then and now. I'm the only true spark in your life]

HTC cut into his thoughts in a singsong manner.

Hisha was finally getting a hang of ignoring HTC while in the middle of something, and right then, the something had a bloody face.

Pulling Wae by the hair, he had a wide smile. He simply stared for a while, enjoying the struggle on Wae's face.

"You're in luck, you and your tribe would be treated as a low-class citizens by the rest of the other tribe until you atone for your transgression."

"Nnooo!" Wae coughed out with a groan, shaking his head to the verdict. "My lord, please that would greatly affect our tribe's p–"

Hisha let go of Wae's hair, standing back up. He glared at him as he spoke, "Would you consider atoning for your transgression with your life?"

Wae frantically shook his head, forcing his body to bow head low on the floor. "Please my lord."

"As expected." He snarled, harrumphing and turning around as he walked back to his throne.

Kritz had his red eyes gleamed with admiration for his lord, he had always wanted to see him in action after such a long while and this little preview didn't disappoint him any bit.

The other tribal chiefs murmured amongst themselves about what they had seen. This was far from the notion they had about their lord–an easily manipulated ruler who trusted their words without questioning.

This kind of attitude in the past had given them the gall to act on behalf of Hisha to oppress the citizens. They had always thought him to always stick by them, and defend them as his trustees.

The action before them proved otherwise. They were standing in thin lines if they were to say something out of line.

With one of them gone, it was only a matter of time before Mich would take over the tribe of the merfolk in place of his dead brother.

"Does anyone else have some other important matter to discuss?" Hisha's voice thundered, pulling them out of their whispers.

All sharing a knowing look, they took a glance at Wae who still had his head lowered.

Bowing, they all chorused with a no.

"Leave my presence!" Hisha sneered at them.
