C16 – Mr Wen’s Questions
“Did you take some kind of counterfeit medicine?” Qi Ning looked at Ye Lin incredulously. “What makes you think you have the right to call yourself the challenger?”
Qi Ning’s remark seemed to strike a nerve with Ye Lin, who immediately launched into a tirade.
“Why is he so unreasonable?”
“How could he be so rude to a girl?”
“It’s outrageous! Who does he think he is?”
Other girls in the class who were friendly with Ye Lin chimed in to defend her.
“Are you even a man? How can you speak to a girl like that?”
“You’re going to regret talking to Ye Lin like that.”
The ones speaking up were either admirers of Ye Lin or those who harbored feelings for her.
“Get out of here!” Qi Ning bellowed. “If you’re capable, step up and compete with me. Otherwise, keep your mouth shut.”
It was the first time Qi Ning had shown such assertiveness.
“Fine, I’ll take you on today,” Ye Lin said to Qi Ning, her face ashen. “If you lose, you’ll not only have to leave this school, but you’ll also kneil and apologize to me. If I lose, I’ll kneel and apologize to you.”
The situation had taken Qi Ning by surprise.
But he wasn’t scared in the slightest.
She knew all too well that Qi Ning was hardly acquainted with anyone in the class.
With no other option, Qi Ning turned to Wen Shangwei.
Wen Shangwei gave a nod of acknowledgment.
After all, he was the one who initiated this, so it was only fitting that he should bring it to a close.
“Page 13, line 6!”
The moment he spoke, the sound of pages turning filled the classroom.
Everyone was taken aback upon reaching the page.
“Mr. Wen is seriously tough!”
“This material is incredibly challenging!”
“I’m going to pray for Ye Lin. Hopefully, she can recite it.”
Qi Ning frantically searched his mind for the content on that page.
Once he located it, he was astounded.
The content on this page was not only broad-ranging but also full of tongue-twisting terminology.
Memorizing this page would require more than just a formidable memory.
Without a solid understanding, there was no way he could commit it to memory.
