Chapter 199 CH 193: MAKE THEM SING

When the shadow receded, Adam walked away while whistling calmly under the moonlight. From the outside, he simply looked like a middle-aged man wearing a large cloak that hid much of his body.

Reaching a little farther into the dock, he took his phone and called Nikola,

"Come to my position, I have a gift you should appreciate."

From what Adam understood in the organization, Mammoth and Nikola were the direct subordinate of Yui and the ones who could play the role of representative when Yuir was absent.

[What do you mean?]

The voice that came may have been grumpy but she was definitely less hostile than in the past. It was good news since it would have been tiring to have an enemy in the same organization.

"Just come. You will thank me later. Also come with the cleaning crew."

[....I see. Very well.]

Nikola could feel the seriousness of the matter when Adam mentioned the cleaning crew. She simply prayed that there was not as much bloodshed as the carnage he wrought last time.

Once he hung up, Adam sighed and looked up at the sky, he thought briefly about taking a smoke but decided against it.

Even with the money he had just obtained, he could only barely buy two cigarettes of this caliber. He felt no headache and his mind was not strained.

'I am certainly becoming used to using my power so proactively.'

He remembered how simply using Accelerated thinking the first time made him feel like he was about to die with his head exploding.

Now he could do so much more and so easily. In a way, it was a feeling that could easily overtake him and inflate his ego.

Thankfully, he had already met so many monsters. That he didn't think he would even start to entertain the thought that he was somehow unrivaled.

'Sigh…Now what to do?'

He had interrogated the two earlier and what he had found had not managed to satiate his appetite.

Whether this was because they were too low ranked or because he didn't have a good understanding of torture, he didn't know. As such, it was better to let the pro do their job.

As for him, all he should do was focus on what he would do in the immediate future.

Looking at the contact list of his number, his finger hovered briefly before he finally pushed the number.

The call rang two or three times before finally, someone answered,

[Hi. Adam, how are you?]

The voice of Shuri filled his ears, causing Adma to chuckle, even after going through such shocking events, her voice was still calm and she even cared about him first.

Adam sighed and made sure to control his intonation to not sound like his Cinder persona.

"I am doing well. I was thinking of calling you to visit your house. I don't know what you are doing now?"

[Ah…]

Shuri seemingly covered the phone and talked to someone else. Even though it was blurry, it was still pretty clear to his ears.

She was talking to her secretary about the security of the place. The secretary seemed to be rather against him coming but in the end Shuri convinced her.

[I am back and you can come in….1H? Huh, No? okay okay. Sorry, Adam. It's a little late now.]

"Something happened?"

[....]

The sound died for an instant, before a sigh sounded, [I am at the police station. Come if you can.]

"The police!?" Even though he wasn't particularly surprised, he still acted that way and nodded, "I am coming soon. Wait for me."

Adam hung up once again and stood up, and as if on cue, he could see three cars coming up to him and from one of them, Nikola came out while wearing her usual handsome suit and her pair of gloves.

"So, Why bring me to this place on this cold night?"

"I wanted to share the wonderful view while in good company."

Nikola seemed a little taken aback by his words but only chuckled and shook her head,

"I am not one of your clients."

She looked around and sniffed, "Anyways who did you kill this time?"

A few people dressed in black cloaks and wearing masks that made them look like mad scientists walked out of the cars and stood in rows behind her.

The cleaning crew. This was a group necessary for people of the supernatural world and while they worked in the shadows, their utility needed not to be proven.

Adam shrugged and pointed to a certain place. Where there had been nothing but a wall of a building, shimmered and gave place to two unconscious and bloody gangsters.

Nikola once again sighed at the breath of power Adam was showing before indicating her goon to take charge.

"Explain please."

"Blue shark attacked one of our clients. More precisely I mean my client."

The only ones who knew his personal life in this place were Yui and Mammoth and he intended to keep it this way. He believed in no one else in the gang and wouldn't give him a weakness of his so easily.

Though talking about Shuri, it was clear that Nikola would have a deeper insight into his life sooner or later.

"There were four. I already killed two. The ones who attacked. As for those two, they were tight-lipped. But it seemed like it was a mixture of two coincidences."

From what they understood, Shuri was not initially a target of elimination. But after she entered the bar, they summarized that she was about to ally with Yui.

This made the order go from intimidation to elimination. This would bring triple success.

Killing someone annoying, stopping two enemies to become allies, and smearing the name of Yui.

Nikola listened in silence before a beautiful smile formed on her face. But it was one Adam could see was filled with cold anger.

Nikola obviously did not care about Shuri. But it was true that if a client was killed just after leaving their bar, it wouldn't look good.

She nodded and adjusted her gloves.

"Leave it to me."

She wouldn't just make them talk. She swore she would make them sing.
