Chapter 179 I'm Not The Fodder

The buff man looked at them for a brief moment before saying, "Sorry, we don't entertain guests for the time being."

His expression was gloomy and one that was filled with disappointment, it was clear that he was in no mood.

Roland did not take his answer to heart and calmly said, "Oh no, you might be misunderstanding something. We're not here as a guest, I'm here for the company itself."

"Not here as a guest? For the company? Ahh- sorry, but we don't accept customers for now either, please come back another time," the buff man stated.

"We are currently in a crucial meeting with the upper management, please come back another time, alright?" He continued, a wry smile surfaced on his face, as he prepared to close the door as if he was in a hurry.

"No, we're not here for that either," Roland replied, stopping the buff man's action.

Getting stopped one more time, the buff man finally got impatient as he asked, "What then?"

He was in a meeting with most of the company's major officials. He wanted to go back and listen to the discussion as they said that they were about to discuss and announce a very important matter that involves the future of the company.

Roland thought for a moment and decided to be straightforward. There was no use hiding it either as it would come to light sooner or later.

"Actually, my name is Roland and I'm the new owner of this company. And I'm about to meet the manager to discuss some matters. If you don't believe me, can you please call your manager and have him meet me instead?" He said calmly as he looked at the nameplate of the buff man in front of him.

The buff man, whose name plate read, Benjamin, was taken aback for a moment before he scrutinized Roland and One at the next moment.

Just a week ago, he knew that the company was facing a major crisis that may as well end the company's life if it was not resolved completely. He even heard that the only way for it to be saved was if a rich person would buy all of the shares and be the new owner of the company. Hence, he was surprised when Roland stated that he was the new owner of the company as it was quite a coincidence for him to say it when the company was in need of a new owner.

Upon a closer look, he realized that although Roland was quite handsome, his clothings was rather plain and ordinary. The same could be said towards the buff man that looked like his bodyguard who was standing behind Roland like an erect pillar.

He also vaguely felt that Roland was familiar, but he could not put a sense as to where he had seen his face.

Benjamin thought for a moment and was suddenly worried about what kind of action he should do.

With their get up, it was hard to believe that they were truly the new owner of the security company. If they were the owner and he neglected them, he might even get punished for it later.

One of his co-worker has already experienced something like this before and he knew that it was an unpleasant experience for that co-worker of his. With that as an example, he doesn't want to experience something like that ever.

At this moment, he suddenly thought of a brilliant idea. Instead of facing it, why not let the 'boss' face this problem instead? And he thought that it might be the best thing to do in this situation as well.

Benjamin smiled at Roland and said, "Please wait for a moment."

His previous gloomy expression was unexpectedly replaced by a normal one. He was very careful as he was afraid that it might cause his demise if Roland was indeed the company's new owner. At this moment, all he thought was that he should be extra careful and not to offend them easily.

Seeing that Benjamin has finally got a clue, Roland nodded his head as he allowed him to call the manager over.

Benjamin hurriedly ran back inside the meeting room. He knocked on the door gently before a bald man opened the door for him.

"Who was it?" Asked the bald-man flatly.

Hearing that, Benjamin didn't know what to reply. Should he say that it was the new owner? However, it was not confirmed if he was truly the real owner or not. If he spouts nonsense now and Roland turns out to be a fraud, won't he be implicated by it?

Realizing another dilemma was upon him, a wry smile appeared on his face yet again as he said, "This... I think it's better if I say it directly to the boss instead."

The bald man tilted his head in confusion, however, he nevertheless nodded his head and allowed the buff-man to enter inside. The two of them were of the same position in the company so they were equal in terms of authority and power.

"My thanks,"Benjamin nodded his head towards him and immediately walked up in front of the boss.

The boss was a fat man with a mustache. He was wearing a business suit that seemed like would give up at the next moment due to how tight of a fit it was for him.

At this moment, the boss was speaking to four people with the same gloomy and nervous expression.

"What is it? Didn't you see that I'm in the middle of a  discussion?" the boss berated Benjamin the moment he arrived besides the boss.

Benjamin did not take it to heart as he knew that although his boss was quite grumpy, he was still a good boss for all of them.

The four people in front of the boss also stopped talking, as if allowing Benjamin to speak of what was so important that he decided to interrupt their conversation.

Feeling the pressure growing around him, Benjamin no longer waited as he explained the situation in detail.

"Boss, it's like this. There is a person named Roland in front of the main door right now and he is claiming that he is the new owner of the company. I don't know if he is telling the truth or not, and he requested to meet you, so I came here to report it," facing the five big bosses of the security company, Benjamin could not help but feel nervous as he narrated the situation.

Hearing that, the boss frowned as he thought that the situation was quite absurd. "Are you nuts? How dare you think that a random nobody could just walk up in here and claim that they are the owner?"

The boss did not hold back his mouth at all. He has always been like this and Benjamin was already aware of this.

The boss felt irritated by the 'useless' report of Benjamin. And to think that he even dared to interrupt the pre-meeting for something like this that could be comprehended by a little bit of common sense.

The news regarding the company's crisis has already disseminated to all of the company's employees. Although it was not officially announced, anyone was able to perceive it due to the rumors that had been leaked by someone.

Even he, the manager of this branch, even heard of the rumors that the only way to save the company was by selling it off to a new rich owner.

Of course, he didn't believe such rumors at all. After all, inside his mind, the Protect Life Security company was already a well-known company and he has been working here as the branch manager ever since the base was established more than five years ago, so his trust towards the company remained unwavering despite the circulating rumors.

Thinking that Benjamin might have been corrupted by those rumors already, it looks like his case was already severe as he even easily believed that a random dude would become the company's owner.

At the same time, Benjamin also tilted his head, thinking that he might have just overreacted as well. However, he did not think that his actions were wrong. Ever since the experience of their acquaintance, Benjamin knew how dangerous the rich people are nowadays.

So even though the boss had berated him, he did not regret his actions at all.

"Well, boss, can you just meet them and stop their delusions already? I'm afraid that they won't listen to what I'm saying at all," he said. He still stands on the fact that he was not willing to become cannon fodder. The rich were dangerous. Who knew what kind of game they were playing nowadays?

The boss frowned hearing Benjamin's stubborn statement. Just as he was about to tell Benjamin to get lost, one of the people in front of him suddenly looked at his phone before saying, "Actually, Fred, let's just meet them and see for ourselves who they are. It just so happened that the big boss was already on his way here so we can welcome him along the way as well."

The boss, Fred, thought for a moment before nodding his head, "Alright, let's go and meet them then."

An obvious smile appeared on Benjamin's face. Inside his mind, he was already cheering in delight, 'Nice, at least I'm not the fodder now!"
