Although the bomber crows, which was the name Ethan gave them, got pretty close, they died before they could wound anyone. Ethan was getting pretty good at magic, considering that he began to learn a few weeks ago. Still, just like he imagined that he would never reach Anna's level in alchemy, he also couldn't think of reaching the precision and the mana pool that Emily has.

Ethan could tell that she wasn't using any support spell, yet, she could hit and kill any enemy with pinpoint precision when they were one hundred meters or less from her. As for Ian, he was just playing with that ring that granted him Telekinesis. Most of the time, he made the crows spin, and those fireballs hit others, causing a chain reaction that would kill dozens of crows.

"Let's move on," Ivan declared.

Even though they had just walked, the group found the mountain in question pretty fast. Ethan hadn't noticed that before, but the soil of the highest part of the mountain was pretty even. He didn't notice it because the vegetation grew a lot… most likely, someone with magic had created a good base of operations there before with the help of earth magic. Although the place wasn't that tall, the area was equal to five hundred meters of radius in all directions.

For some reason, Ivan didn't give the order to Ian to clean the place or something. Instead of that, he just approached the center of the camp and kicked the ground. Ethan felt a powerful shockwave pass through the entire place. It was supposed to have hit them, but the attack only destroyed the vegetation. After that, he kicked the ground again, and in the next moment, another shockwave cleaned the area.

"I can't see one, but he certainly used a magic item. One which is pretty powerful and can store a lot of mana…"

Ivan had a lot of tricks up his sleeve. After doing all that, he began to mess with his wristwatch, and then several things started to appear around the top of the mountain. Tents, tables, boxes, computers, monitors of all kinds, and some big batteries. Everything was ready to be used, and Ian just had to connect a few cables, and then everything began to work. In one of the monitors, Ethan saw the map of the planet, at least of the area that had already been explored, and inside that area, he could see fifty or so red points marking their location. Suddenly, one of the red points disappeared.

"It looks like four of the mercenaries already have fallen," Ian said while rubbing his chin. "It looks like those four didn't have any magic items and got carried away… I guess it is only natural."

pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ "I will recover their bodies before the others come," Ivan declared while facing Emily and Ethan. "The North area is yours; do as you see fit. Anna, you will scan the area as well, but just focus on collecting data for the time being. Ian, protect your sister."

"Roger that," Ian said and then saluted his father.

Anna didn't protest, but she didn't hold back her sigh either. It was only natural since Ian was a pain in the ass. Regardless, when Ethan was about to leave the area, Emily stopped him.

"Hey, there is no need to rush," Emily said. "Let's work with those two."

"Nah, I'm fine," Ethan said.

"You want to train your magic, right?" Emily asked. "It will be more efficient if you let an alchemist use the potions on you."

While that was true, since it was only natural that Ethan wasn't the only one who would benefit from the Alchemist skill, the two siblings were a pain in the ass. Besides, it wasn't like Ethan wanted only to train his magic… but now that he thought about it unless he used that kind of opportunity as much as possible, he would never become really skilled at using mana.

"I guess so," Ethan said. "Prepare your potions, little girl, because I'm going to drink them as if there is no tomorrow."

"… I will make sure to make you drink the more bitter ones," Anna forced a smile, even though her eyebrows were twitching.

"That is fine. I like sour food and drinks," Ethan shrugged.

Since Ethan only found enemies that could be taken down by a single hit of his sword, he didn't really feel like using it. It was like the effect of his cursed sword was completely useless. In order to prevent him from damaging his sword with small fries, Ethan decided to improve the other areas where he was lacking.

It didn't take long before Ethan and the others found those crows again, they just had to leave the mountain, and they found them. Almost as if their presence had been erased while they were there… maybe one of Ivan's machines did that, and Ethan didn't even notice. Regardless, just like before, Emily and Ethan decimated them with Ice Arrows.

"Are you two trying to match or something?" Ian asked.

"… This is my best long-ranged spell that doesn't consume too much mana," Ethan sighed.

"I just feel like creating ice since the climate of this world is troublesome," Emily added.

Although it made sense since that world made Ethan recall of tropical countries, it seemed like a pretty weak reason. Regardless, Ian began to slack off the very moment his father wasn't monitoring him anymore. That being said, he never left Anna's side. Despite everything, he was an older brother who was looking after his little sister.

"What?" Ian smirked. "You two, for the time being, are our employees, so I will leave the hard work to you."

Ian couldn't lose the chance to be annoying as usual… Still, despite his carefree words, he was constantly looking around as if he was waiting for something to happen.
