358 Orders

Alex was confused by her question and shot her a matter-of-fact look before responding.

“Others have just one?” Alex asked with a raised eyebrow as he felt the pain in his chest subsiding. His eyes slowly opened and he looked towards the distance with a stern look.

“No! The most talented of them all have only two! Only the leader of the number one Guild in this world has three and he is considered a supreme being because of this!” Xinxiu exclaimed.

A defect with three divinities! How could she not be excited? In her eyes, Alex was her ticket back to the main city. With his powers, people would still scramble for him and with her, by his side, she can live in this world for eternity in luxury!

Xinxiu’s eyes shone with greed but Alex didn’t seem to care about her crazy thoughts.

Hearing this and seeing her excited look, Alex didn’t know whether to cry or laugh. Would this girl believe him if he said he had four divinities?

Unfortunately, the blood demon divinity is incomplete and cannot be used anyway.

“So?” Alex responded dryly as he concentrated on stabilizing his condition.

“So?” Xinxiu wanted to go crazy. She began to suspect the fall damaged Alex’s Brian somehow.

“If we can return to the city and show them your divinities, even the number one Guild would want to recruit you! We can finally live a life of luxury” Xinxiu screamed but Alex snorted disdainfully as his gaze turned stern.

“I was a god in my past world…. Conquered my planet and two others… stood as their god and fought against extinction. I succeeded but the world was already rejecting me. To succeed I would need to damage my universe so I chose not to… I came trying to destroy those who are trying to kill my family and friends and not join them. I have no plans of joining them anyway. I work alone” Alex seemed pissed by her words, making her shrink back.

Alex looked far scarier when he looked pissed.

Alex exhaled and inhaled deeply, holding it in for a while before inhaling deeply again.

Sounds of a beating heart could be heard resonating from Alex’s body. His eyes slowly yanked open and a strange aura diffused from his body, making Xinxiu tremble and hastily retreat.

Alex may not have been aware of it but his shadow had enlarged and taken the shape of a scary demon as he began practicing his old secret technique in this new body.

Since the defect makes it difficult for him to use his divinity, Alex had not had many problems since he could easily use his martial arts here.

All he needs to do now is to train his body.

“Seem… I don’t know what you are doing but it’s not safe to be here in the open” Xinxiu said from a distance, not daring to get close.

“I have nothing to fear,” Alex said indifferently, without even bothering to spare her a glance.

“There are far more dangerous monsters in this world, I know you may not believe me but there is a lot you don’t know about this place! I have seen stronger Gods die here” Xinxiu pleaded.

Only after hearing that did Alex slowly open his eyes. He pondered in silence for a few seconds before rising to his feet. He walked towards Xinxiu and stopped just in front of her.

“Do you know somewhere safe?” Alex asked and Xinxiu nodded with a bright smile.

With that, the two began their journey to an unknown part of this world. While they moved together, Alex was able to find out more about this world and the rules binding gods.

Apparently, this world is divided into territories and each territory conquered represents a galaxy in the mortal world that they can rule over. With their godly powers, they can influence the life of the weak mortals and have them pray to them. That way they gather the power of faith which is the only way they can maintain their immortality while boosting their strength.

He realized that this world has a different power system, divided into three orders;

-Highest orders

Seraphim

Cherubim

Thrones

-Middle orders

Dominions

Virtues

Powers

-Lowest orders

Principalities

Archangels

Angels

Remembering the stats he was shown, he was just an angel in the lowest order and amongst the weakest beings in this world.

Also, he was terrified to realize something about the rules of becoming a god. To become a god one must have a certain amount of grace left within him. That means, they must not have lost so much faith power to other gods by praying. The more one prays and relies on a god the more they lose their faith power, which lessens their chances of ascending to this realm upon death.

Considering that he was never religious, Alex felt thankful.

Also without the power of faith for a prolonged period of time, a God’s power dwindles and slowly he ceases to exist. In her past life, Xinxiu was worshiped as a goddess and the purest lady of her time. She was an expert in medical arts and practices and achieved a lot by saving the lives of men who conquered nations and ruled empires.

She was so important, even in wars no one would dare lay a hand on her. Each empire sorted and converted her. But during the period of ascension, she lacked the actual power to complete the evolution and became a defect or false God.

At first, she was worshiped as the goddess of healing but with time she was forgotten. Right now she is nearing the end of her life and would seize to exist if nothing is done in a few centuries or so.

“You said this entire world is made up of territories and the city where the deities stay now is a territory captured by them?” Alex asked with strange looks in their eyes.

“Yes, I guess so,” Xinxiu said slowly as she couldn’t understand what Alex was driving at.
