279 Emperor Qikath

Alex walked gallantly through an underground tunnel made of glass, leading to an even bigger city which made what could be seen above look like child’s play. His eyes remained calm and unmoving but Sharyn who followed him behind felt uneasy.

Not only did Alex allow them to take their seeds in but he also agreed to enter a deep sea city even though he practiced the power of the sun!

Shouldn’t he be scared of water like she is?

Meow!

Meanwhile, the hell cat just seemed excited by the numerous varieties of fish that could be seen swimming around. It carried a glutinous look on its face as they advanced without fear.

By the way, with Alex here, who can harm them?

“T-this way” The guide seemed extremely terrified of Alex.

The battle that happened earlier almost destroyed their planet, leaving them in shambles. This man who came from an unknown world defeated their emperor who was no different from a god in their eyes, why wouldn’t they be scared?

If Alex decides to start a mass slaughter the moment he steps foot into the capital, no one would be able to stop him. Alex seems to have perceived the thoughts of the young fish man and a cruel smile bloomed on his face.

.....

“Your thoughts are quite disrespectful... Even if you didn’t lead me here, do you think your capital can remain safe if I wish to destroy it? Do you think your emperor would be able to save you all from me?” Alex asked with a raised eyebrow.

Hearing this, the guide trembled with fear and fell to his knees with his face planted on the ground.

Alex smiled cruelly as he walked past without even sparing him a glance.

Cruel!

Sharyn raced forward and grabbed Alex’s hand while they walked.

Meow!

The hell cat let out a pleasant cry before jumping on Alex’s shoulder. It kept gazing at the fish man as if he were food.

The journey didn’t take as long as expected. As soon as they left the tunnel, they boarded a huge sea horse the size of a massive truck and rode it to the center of the city where the royal palace was located.

On the way there Alex observed the city in silence and couldn’t help but admit that this may be the best civilization he has come across in ages.

Was it as advanced as the Estos race?

No!

But it was different. The difference was in the path both civilizations chose to walk. While the Estos race decided to focus purely on science, these people tried to combine nature with science, creating the perfect balance which most civilizations lack...

“This explains why the envoys lost... these people are just too strong. Even if the Estos race should wage an all out war against these people, they will be defeated almost effortlessly” Alex speculated with an interesting look on his face.

He couldn’t help but wonder if the ability to control water was something that came naturally or if they were using some sort of technology for that, either way, he felt excited.

This was the first time he was meeting a being like him who had an equal ego and near equal strength. He wasn’t so naive as to think that the enemy has submitted to him due to that exchange.

He was in the enemy’s territory and they would definitely have more means of dealing with him. The reason why he is here even when he knew how dangerous it was simply curiosity. He needed to know everything about this race and what they are capable of. Only then will he know how to put them to good use and bring out their hundred percent potential!

.............

Bang!

The massive doors leading to what seemed like a royal courtroom swung open and Alex swaggered in with Sharyn standing next to him and the Hell cat on his shoulders. His eye flashed across the massive room which was the size of a stadium.

On the high seats were countless members of this race adorned in flashy robes, gazing at Alex with hostility and visible fear in their eyes.

At the extreme of the room was a massive coral throne with a normal sized figure seated on it. His eyes were navy blue with his thick blue skin with fish scales. He had claws and fins, with gills and even a tail. He wore a bright blue fur robe with what could be considered a crown made of a material Alex was not familiar with.

“YOU ARE IN THE PRESENCE OF EMPEROR QIKATH! SHOW YOUR RESPECT!” A voice boomed across the room as everyone looked at Alex attentively.

“Hmph! Alex Briggs bows to no one!” Alex’s eyes revealed fierce rage as an invisible pressure exploded from his body, making the entire royal courtroom tremble so violently!

Instantly every Noble there turned pale in fear as they gazed at the human with waist-length hair, and the gorgeous lady, standing side by side as the entire royal palace threatened to crumble under his power.

“Enough!” Emperor Qikath said with a frown but it was directed at the spokesman who made such an absurd announcement in front of the being who overpowered him.

Under the trembling room, he slowly stood from his throne and began walking over to Alex at a slow and steady pace.

His eyes were locked with that of Alex as if he was searching for something deep within his soul and when he finally reached Alex he bowed respectfully with no sign of arrogance on his face.

“I apologize for the mistake made by my official, he will be disciplined accordingly,” Emperor Qikath said in a low tone.

Buzzzz!

The entire room fell silent as the nobles couldn’t believe their eyes. The great emperor who has always ruled with an iron fist actually bowed to an invader while treating him with immense respect.

“In this world, the rules of the jungle apply to everyone regardless of their tradition... the strong will trample over the weak... it’s good you know how to act in my presence!” Alex wasn’t humble at all when he spoke.
