264 Death of a legend?

For over minutes sounds of battle could be heard as both sides clashed fiercely. The soldiers positioned at the exit of the tunnel waited in anticipation but after a while, all that could be seen as Alex stepping out with a body covered in the blood of his enemies. His eyes seemed lost and distant as he walked up the stairs only to see more soldiers waiting ahead.

He frowned slightly but he didn’t speak since he already knew what was going on. He knew Kyle was trying to tire him out and it was working.

With a glance, he could easily count over a thousand people but even then he wasn’t fazed. He couldn’t continue this way.

“I apologize, I don’t have enough strength to give you the privileges the others got! I can only offer you a quick and painless death!” Alex said with a sad smile on his face as cute began appearing all over his body.

The advanced form of the demon-kin secret technique has always been the blood control technique.

In response, these soldiers bowed in response as they all pulled off their masks

Swoosh!

Blood surged out of Alex’s body and took the shape of golden needles, flying into the skulls of everyone in the room!

Huff!

.....

Alex fell on a knee as he kept panting heavily. Even if this did not need deviant cells to work it still consumed a lot of energy from him.

For the first time in a long while, Alex felt like throwing up when looking at these dead bodies. Both his mind and body were plagued with fatigue, adding the guilt of killing such brave men willing to die in a foreign place to protect their families made it even worse.

“I won’t be able to go on for long at this rate” Alex muttered under his breath.

“Hahahaha! Useless! To think these dogs would let themselves just to get to me! Good! Very good! If they won’t be of use to me in life, then I will make use of them in death!” Kyle’s voice resonated across the room, making Alex pale in fear!

Buzz!

Shit!

Alex didn’t hesitate to place his hands on the floor and cast the matter absorption ability while casting the Golden statue ability at once too!

Gaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!

Alex screamed as blood rolled down his eyes, ears, and nostrils while he kept forcing his weakened deviant cells to work. Golden armor surged out of his skin while he absorbed the properties of this spacecraft

Boom!

A fierce explosion erupted both from behind and ahead, covering the entire room until even Alex’s figure could not be seen anymore. The entire room shook terribly as. The lights turned red and loud siren sounds could be heard.

After what seemed like a few minutes the rooms could be seen covered in black smoke and blue barriers protecting the walls of the room kept flashing crazily as if it was going to crumble anyway.

Bleegh!

Alex spat out a mouthful of blood as the two layers of armor he had put on slowly crumbled. To block this he has expended everything he had in him.

Gaah!

Alex gasped for air as he fell back and leaned on the wall for support. His face was terribly pale, lacking the usual graceful air it once had.

“Nice... Nice! I have to confess I didn’t see this coming!” Alex said hastily as he fell over spitting a mouthful of blood.

Even before he came over to this planet, the combined forces of the earth could not put him in such a condition. It took a well-timed betrayal and a stab to the heart from the woman he loved to bring him down. Yet he had been reduced to this condition by the alliance.

He had gravely underestimated them!

“In the end, this is all the mighty Alex Briggs is capable of... I don’t know why the elders were making a huge fuss about recruiting you when I can reduce you to this level! You are nothing boy!” Kyle growled like a crazed man and his voice boomed in the room making Alex grunt in pain.

“If you really think you are capable of taking my life why send your lackeys at me? I agree, I’m terribly weak now, so why don’t you come and finish the job? It would be a great honor to die at the hands of a shaman!” Alex revealed his teeth stained with blood as he laughed.

Even in a bad condition, his eyes revealed immense killing lights which made Kyle shudder!

He wanted to speak immediately but he didn’t respond immediately instead he waited as the sound of what seemed like an elevator could be heard.

Hearing this, Alex turned pale with fear but there was nothing he could do anymore. More soldiers in the strange suit ran into the room without weapons and their masks taken off.

They all gazed at Alex’s with sad looks on their faces and promptly bowed to him.

“If we don’t do this, of our families will be executed immediately... I know you have good intentions for us but we have failed you!” One of them stepped forward and said those words with tearful eyes.

Seeing this, Alex laughed heartily while trying to control his breathing. Kyle and every other person in the control room watched with fear visible in their eyes. Alex had left a deep impression in their minds, so deep that even at the brink of death they still feared him.

“You don’t have to apologize... I would have done the same... My only regret is that I never got to see him... My son” Alex said with a defeated voice.

Even though he was confident and proud, he wasn’t a coward that would refuse to accept reality in the face of death.

“I wasn’t able to fulfill my promise to you people in this life, so I will carry it with me in the next... Do what you must!” Alex said with a calm look on his face. His eyes were the same as ever!

The eyes of the absolute who would look down on his enemies even in death!
