152 Chapter 152: Successful negotiation

Hearing Alex’s reply the President leaned back with a satisfied smile on his face. He wasn’t na?ve enough to believe Alex completely but one thing he was sure of was the nameless family had potential. Enough potential to rival and maybe surpass the big four in the future.

Whether they can completely surpass all four combined is another question altogether. With Alex and Silver they will definitely make it to the big four but to surpass the big four they would need more exceptional members on their team.

The president could tell everyone on their team was talented but not talented enough. Blaze had the talent to reach the S ratings like his old man and maybe Kung Jun but what about the rest? What did they have to offer?

Left to him he would have expelled members of the team and put more capable people to join Alex but of course, in this situation, he couldn’t make such decisions.

Right now he can only remain neutral while giving Alex and Silver enough chances to prove themselves and enough resources to improve their growth speed.

“The Nameless will be removed from the military and they will become an independent family... all military forces and equipment will be withdrawn from this area... Make Virginia yours and a land habitable for citizens of the United States... that will be your first step forward” The president said after giving the matter some thought.

“That’s okay but we will be keeping behind some equipment though.... The Nameless has provided the government with sophisticated weapons of war for a year now at a cheaper price... don’t you think we deserve that much?” Alex asked with a raised eyebrow.

“That’s okay” The president didn’t seem bothered by his words.

“Let me guess, you plan to keep the energy source you recovered yesterday” General Firestorm said with a stern look on his face.

.....

“Of course... Scientists of the Nameless family are currently working to recreate the enhancer killing machines but this time it won’t be prototypes but more capable ones” Alex said calmly.

“Really?” the government and Silver yelped in surprise.

They didn’t think something like this will happen.

“Before destroying the lab, Silver recovered a blueprint on how it was made... he has been modifying it since then and is close to perfection now...” Alex shrugged his shoulders as he spoke.

“You never submitted that in your report! Do you know withholding crucial information from the military is a punishable offense in the law?” General Firestorm said coldly.

He seemed agitated by the fact that Alex took away Virginia, a state meant to be one of his territories.

“You never asked... Last time I checked our orders were to destroy and not recover.... We followed your orders ... you have to try and be more specific in future general” Alex said with a sly smile.

Those watching in front of the screens were stunned. Silver was suppressed by the president leaving Alex to negotiate for them. They were stunned to see Alex holding his own against two of the most powerful men in the country and not flinching.

He completely gave them what they called “The Silver vibe”

“All of this has been planned for a year plus now... This meeting was predetermined already... I guess I’m just another chess piece on your chessboard... bravo!” the president didn’t seem vexed, instead he seemed happy.

Unknown to him, Alex was simply improvising to get the best out of this deal! He definitely couldn’t let go of a power source of such quality and quantity.

“So tell me, Is betraying the United States amongst your plans?” The president asked with a stern look on his face.

“Unless given a reason to, I don’t see why I should do that.” Alex shook his head nonchalantly.

The president nodded in agreement and stood up. Alex can’t be considered a patriotic citizen whom he can manipulate but at least the kid is quite direct and firm. As long as he is not given a reason to leave, he will always remain in the US and that’s more than enough for the president.

“Everything you want will be provided to ensure the project is a success... I hope priority and a discount will be given to the government when you choose to sell your next inventions... Don’t forget... How well we cooperate and how much support you gain from me is solely dependent on your achievements... don’t disappoint me” The president said before walking away.

Alex and Silver remained seated in silence as they left. Only then did the duo breathe out. They were caught off guard and almost lost it because of their silly mistake. Thankfully, things didn’t go as bad as expected. Not only are they allowed to stay but they also gained some benefits as well!

“Thank you” Silver suddenly said with a red face.

He was avoiding making eye contact with Alex which left him amused

When did the great Silver become like this?

“Stop the crap... we are family so this is only natural I look out for you.... By the way, we have lots of work to do now... we can’t afford to get comfortable now” Alex shrugged his shoulders as he spoke.

“About the territory...” Silver muttered.

Clearing a territory is not as easy as Alex made it seem. They would be going against countless mutant beasts. It’s not something anyone can do, talk less of a small group of people, especially now they have the purple gem and mutant beasts are practically gathered outside their doors waiting for an opportunity to strike.

If not for the strange plant that repels mutant beasts which were planted around the base, they would be dead already.

Best

“Leave that to me, there is no rush... just focus on your part” Alex said with a slight yawn. He seemed tired.

......

“Do you trust them?” General Firestorm asked as soon as they left the building.

He was planning to benefit from Alex after he left his family but now the case is reversed not only did he lose his territory, but he also lost his grandson to the Nameless. He completely regretted his actions now.

“As long as we give them no reason to betray us, they won’t... make the environment conducive and they will stay... I hope your personal emotions won’t get in the way of your duty... General?” The president asked coldly.
