Chapter 45: Chapter 45: A decision!

Alex walked towards the mighty mutant beast with a cold look on his face. His already bronze skin turned gray thickening his defense. For some reason, Alex could feel his defense was a bit stronger and it isn’t because of the bronze statue secret technique.

“Did absorbing the energy from the beast core make the artificial ability stronger?” Alex asked with a confused look on his face.

For a while now he has been looking for a safe way to strengthen his matter absorption without going through the normal, risky method. He felt extremely delighted when he realized he should be able to improve his abilities by absorbing the power within beast cores!

“Okay! I can do this!” Alex said as he took a stance.

Under the moonlight the two figures stood face to face, staring down each other. This only lasted for like five seconds but for Alex, it felt like forever!

Bang!

The mutated bat finally made a move and Alex dashed forward as well!

Whoosh!

Reaching the enemy, Alex stomped his foot on the ground, shooting into the air while spinning uncontrollably!

“KILL!” He screamed as he tightened his fist and increased the gravity around him, forcing him to fall rapidly towards the target!

Bang!

His fist struck the head of the beast and without wasting time he lessened the gravity around his body allowing him to stay airborne a bit longer as he directed all his power into his legs before delivering a powerful kick to the face of the bat!

Boom!

Alex shoot backward, landing gently only to look up and notice the bad did not move an inch. His attacks only shifted its face on two occasions but it wasn’t even enough to make it stagger back.

He has already utilized the third form of his secret technique thrice. Two with his right hand and the last one with his right leg. Right now he could feel his body tremble. His right hand, in particular, kept twitching uncontrollably.

“This is not something I can fight against!” Alex admitted with a bitter smile.

The mutant bat just gazed at Alex with a hint of surprise in its eyes. For ten seconds straight it kept looking at Alex as if it was waiting for him to do more. After waiting for a while and Alex was yet to make a move, its surprised look changed to disappointment. The massive began walking forward once again.

With each step it took, Alex took a step back. He is a confident person but he has always been honest with himself too. At this point, Alex already knew the outcome of the battle if he dares to go against this kind of enemy. With his current strength, he is unable to penetrate its skin, talk less of hurting him.

The mutant beast was currently standing over him with its hands raised but then it paused and turned. From the destroyed window the supposed dead hunter walked out of the room with a cold look on his face.

“For years I have been looking for you... I have finally found you today!” the man said while peering deep into the eyes of the mutant beast.

Currently, the man was lacking a hand but he managed to stop the bleeding somehow. He wore a strange silver and blue chest plate, this explained why he survived Alex’s full-powered punch during their first encounter. In his hand was the black spear, meanwhile, he wore a worn-out military gray camouflage trouser which made Alex wonder how long he has been away from civilization.

Even a D-rated hunter is treated well by the government! They can easily live a comfortable life without issues.

Alex didn’t know what kind of history this hunter has with the mutant beast but it seemed that the bat too bore deep resentment for this man. It completely ignored Alex and Silver, walking towards the man calmly.

The bat made some weird sounds before charging towards the man!

“Not this time!” The man growled as he struck forward so fast, he left behind, numerous after images of his spear shooting forward!

Bang!

Whoosh!

The mutant bat stomped its feet on the ground, shooting into the air and then opening up its massive wings.

Alex watched in shock as the beast blocked the moon, staring at the man below coldly.

Click!

Making that sound again, the mutant bat suddenly folded its wings and began spinning rapidly as it descended at an incredible speed but the man didn’t seem to be moved by this move!

He performed a timely leap to the side just before the mutant beast crashed into him, swinging his spear at it!

Peng!

The two clashed creating a shockwave that made the man stagger back! His eyes were filled with hatred and anger as he charged forward once again but this time the bat showed no signs of retreating!

The two threw their attacks so fast, Alex could barely see their hands! He could only see minor sparks at the meeting points of their attacks!

“Amazing... So this is what a battle between a hunter and a mutant beast really looks like!” Alex was mesmerized by the battle he forgot the most important thing.

Pa!

“Are you crazy? We need to leave now! If the hunter loses, who do you think it will go for next? And if the hunter wins, who do you think will die next?” Silver whispered those words making Alex’s pupils dilate.

He was reluctant to leave, not because he simply wanted to watch the fight but he wants to win! In his opinion, this is a battle between humanity and the mutant beasts. It will be a shame if he just leaves and lets the hunter die! Friend or foe, times like this is when humanity is meant to put its differences aside to defeat a common enemy!

“You go ahead... Take the car... Come back a day later... I can’t leave now” Alex said decisively!

There is no way, he will let a dangerous beast like this go! Never!
