Forming the Guild

(Bersleid: Feeling sick today, so this will be the only chapter for today. Also, there might be more mistakes than usual, so sorry, I had to at least put out one for today as well, want to keep up the daily release. Anyways, enjoy!)

Three days after recruiting Hinagiku and Ryunosuke, on a morning when everyone’s schedules aligned, the group had gathered at the guild headquarters located in the administrative district of “Windham,” in the southern part of the city where they were to meet Ryunosuke.

“Hey, it’s been a while…or maybe not so much.”

“Sorry to keep you waiting, I got here earlier.”

Replied Ryunosuke, waving his hand to greet them as they approached.

“Wow, you guys are easy to spot, especially you, Crim.”

“Heh heh, yeah, it’s because of this hair color.”

Crim replied, chuckling and ruffling her long white hair.

Despite searching the area around the popular starting city for players with similar appearances, they couldn’t find anyone else with the same white hair as Crim.

“So, is that your daughter?”

She asked, looking towards the little girl hiding behind Ryunosuke’s back.

“I’m sorry, I work from home so she’s become quite attached to her dad, which has made her a bit shy. Hey, say hello.”

Prompted by Ryunosuke, the face that appeared was a child of the gnome race.

“Oh, is it a gnome child?”

Bending down slightly and meeting her gaze, she spoke.

She was probably around the same age as Hinagiku, a little younger than Crim, likely somewhere between upper elementary and middle school. She had long, sky blue hair that was just as long as Crim’s and had a somewhat inorganic feel to it, and white skin that was as flawless and of the latest and highest quality as an artificial skin.

Her eyes had a unique iris with fine lines of light occasionally running through them, resembling the aperture of a camera, which was a characteristic of the gnome race, who were artificial life forms.

In addition to that, she had mechanical parts such as a headset around her ears, a rotating, rainbow-colored record-like device attached to her hair like a hair ornament, and a metallic hand that looked like a gauntlet, giving them a more mechanical and combat-oriented design.

“Ah, among them is a rare species called the [Fusion Machines] or something like that. I heard that she won’t stand out too much if she’s with you guys, so please take care of her.”

“Haha… Somehow, we ended up with a group of rare species.”

Led by Crim’s [Noble Red], there were two [High Elves], a [Silver Fox], and now the new girl, a [Fusion Machine]. They were all members of rare species except for Ryunosuke, and even now, they were moved by the fact.

“Thanks to that, it’s tough for us to walk around town together.”

Said Crim, she and Freya gave a wry smile to each other, remembering the numerous stares they received on the way there.

“On the other hand, you guys are still getting friendly stares. I can feel stares filled with murderous intent.”

Said Frey, the only male character in the group and the one who attracted the most jealousy. Crim had no choice but to say “Don’t worry about it”.

“Anyway, I’m Crim, the soon-to-be guild master. So please take care of us from now on.”

Crim said as she extended her hand for a handshake.

The girl cautiously approached her from behind Ryunosuke and shook Crim’s hand with hers, which had exposed mechanical parts, making a faint motor sound as she moved it. Her behaviour was very cautious, but she seemed interested in them, giving off a cat-like atmosphere, peering at them every now and then.

“I’m Licorice. Nice to meet you… Sister Crim.”

She said so and shyly gave fleeting smile.

(Yes, she’s cute!)

Crim couldn’t help but make a serious face as her protective instincts overloaded.

And then… she truly understood the reason why Ryunosuke was so doting on her.

After the self-introductions were finished, Hinagiku, who was of the same age as Licorice, immediately began talking to her, while Licorice responded, looking a bit bewildered but not entirely uninterested.

Seeing that everything seemed to be under control, Crim breathed a sigh of relief and began typing out the application for the guild’s establishment.

…But then, at the end of the process, a message appeared on the screen: “Please enter the name of the guild for registration.”

“Ah…”

However, nobody moved. Since Crim had let out a dazed voice that seemed to say “I’ve been careless,” nobody took any action.

“…Hey, Crim. You didn’t think of the guild name, did you?”

“…Yes, that’s right. I haven’t thought of it.”

Crim avoids Frey’s gaze and looks away, feeling guilty. However, she can’t come up with a name immediately, and starts to panic.

“What should we do, everyone!?”

“What do you mean, what should we do? I thought you had already decided!”

“I-I haven’t! I didn’t think of anything!”

“Same here! How do we decide at times like this!?”

“…sigh. I don’t intend to butt in here, so you guys should figure it out.”

The group panicked as they realized they had forgotten something important, while Ryunosuke looked on with a wry smile, and Licorice wandered nervously with her eyes.

“Oh, since you’re something like a vampire, why not include something related to that? Like the moon, for example.”

“Yeah, but wouldn’t that be too cliché…”

“Uh, excuse me…”

Licorice timidly raised her hand. It was her first time speaking up, and everyone fell silent to listen.

“What about [Lua Cheia]… It means ‘full moon’ in Portuguese… What do you think?” (Bersleid: I literally translated full moon and that is what I got in Portuguese.)

There was something about the name that caught Crim’s attention, it had the same meaning as Mangetsu, even though she shouldn’t have known it.

“Alright, let’s use that. Is everyone okay with it?”

Everyone nodded in agreement, and Crim entered the name into the registration form. As the system management AI confirmed the registration with the name “Guild [Lua Cheia] has been formed,” a new guild management screen appeared.

Although it still had a lot of blank spaces, six names were listed on there, and they all smiled at each other with joy.

(Bersleid: Yeah, that is it for today.)
